Petroplan was founded in central London in 1976 by John Reeder and Graham Pyle to supply experienced engineering personnel to oil and gas companies.

The Company expanded steadily through the 1980's and moved to larger offices in Guildford at the end of 1987.

Continued expansion, including more overseas work led to the opening of offices in the Republics of Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation (Moscow) in more recent years. In 2005 Petroplan started operations in Calgary, Canada and Aberdeen, Scotland. Petroplan registered to trade in the USA in 2006.

The management team comprises:

John Reeder
Chairman and co-owner; worked in various project services roles with operator and contractor companies before founding Petroplan.  Responsible for policy, strategy and business development.

Graham Pyle
Director and co-owner; also with project services background.  Responsible for quality management and other company systems.  Also undertakes consulting assignments with clients from time to time.

Richard Williams
Managing Director; chartered accountant responsible for day to day running of the Company.

John McWilliam
Divisional Director, Aberdeen; joined Petroplan in 2005, responsible for Aberdeen operation.

Jocelyn Thomerson
Operations Manager; over 20 years with Petroplan, now responsible for  major client accounts.

Pauline Horton
Business Manager; over 20 years with Petroplan, now responsible for major client accounts.

John Pell
President Petroplan Canada; first joined Petroplan in 1991, subsequently took leading role in developing Caspian region business before setting up north American operations in 2005.

Ian Antrobus
Business Manager; joined Petroplan in 2005 having held senior positions in other recruitment organisations.

Tim Jenkins
ITC Manager; joined Petroplan in 1990, responsible for computing and communications for all offices.
