| Description: | Lead Electrical & Instrument Engineer - Ssakhalin Island, Russia. 7/3 rotation, 60 hours a week Mon - Sat Detailed Job Description Responsible for study, design, specification and services related to electrical systems and Instrumentation including power generation, transmission and distribution, power systems performance and control, cabling and wiring, lighting, motor control centres, communications systems, cathodic protection, grounding lightning protection, heat tracing, Instrument cabling, control systems, Emerson DELTA V PCS and SIS configuration. Establishes and maintains the technical standards within the disciplines. Sets strategic and tactical direction with regard to policy/procedures, work force staffing, and budgeting. Provides technical guidance to designers and less experienced engineers. Job role is responsible for a measurable asset such as an assigned staff and budget Under general supervision, performs all conventional aspects of the functional area subject matter. Independently applies advanced engineering techniques, makes decisions on engineering problems and methods, and represents the organization in conferences to resolve important questions related to the disciplines. Devises new approaches to problems encountered. Plans, schedules, and conducts work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria Skills/Qualifications Good oral and written communications essential. Interface with client technical authority. Performs work which involves conventional engineering practice but may include a variety of complex features such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, and difficult coordination requirements. Provides technical guidance to designers and less experienced engineers. Job tasks, correctly performed, impact indirectly on cost containment, efficiency, profitability or operations. Must have experience of working as part of and assisting the coordination of an instrument team. Experience of common platform systems including ESD/DCS, and their interfaces. |
