Background: Petroplan’s relationship with this client has endured for more than 40 years, in which time we have worked closely with them around the world; supporting their onshore, offshore and petrochemical projects. In 2003, to support their Caspian Region projects, we took the decision to establish a registered office and local team in Baku. In 2007, Petroplan started working with our client in the Gulf of Mexico; and in 2009, our relationship took us to Iraq. Via our local network of offices, we have supported their projects in Algeria, Australia, Azerbaijan, Egypt, Europe (including North Sea), Georgia, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Jordan, Libya, Oman, Sharjah, Singapore, South Korea, Turkey and across the US.

As a supplier working within one of the largest MSP’s in the oil and gas industry, Petroplan has established a successful track record of meeting a range of exacting SLA’s and KPI’s – with the client conducting regular performance reviews through a supplier score card system, face to face meetings and supplier summits with feedback sessions. With the global spread of their activity, compliance is critical and Petroplan’s regional experts are experienced in meeting local legislative requirements and in administering payroll quickly and efficiently even within the most complex of locations.

Our client trusts us to put an exceptional delivery team in charge of their projects, and to operate as a strategic recruitment partner rather than just a supplier of services. Petroplan actively participates in continuous improvement working sessions with the client and their other suppliers – covering a range of issues such as staff retention, industrial relations management, security briefings, emergency response planning, managing the employment of nationals, and community relations. We participate in client-led benchmarking surveys that range from ranking hundreds of job categories and disciplines on a global basis to ad hoc requests by specific region and/or discipline, and we keep our client updated on industry issues with regular thought leadership pieces such as our Energy Talent Explorer Review and our insights into mental health awareness within the oil and gas industry.

Petroplan is privately owned so our decision-making is flexible and agile – from opening an office in a new territory to provide them with on the ground services, to upgrading our HSEQ system to provide the required support for their contractors in the Gulf of Mexico. We understand their key issues in each region and add real value, for example in Algeria where Petroplan’s highly experienced HSEQ Manager with local knowledge of Algeria advised on a risk assessment in the interests of contractor safety.
