Junior Commercial Analyst

Petroplan are looking to recruit a Junior Commercial Analyst position to be based in London on a Permanent staff basis full time.

The ideal cadidate will be someone who will meet existing clients, build relationships with them, maintain them, do presentations, and helping external stake holders within the industry.

Ideally you will have just a few years experience within the energy sector.

Knowledge, qualifications and experience

  • A degree with an analytical focus would be preferable
  • Commercial and/or operational experience in the energy industry (gas industry preferred)
  • Able to communicate effectively with people at all levels (internally and externally) of an organisation
  • Excellent report writing, verbal and presentational skills
  • High level of numeracy and analytical skills - able to review, analyse and report on data and information of varying complexity
  • Excellent standard of computer literacy, particularly use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Contract Management Specialist

Our client, a large owner/operator Oil & Gas organization is looking to add a Contract Management Specialist to their team for a 1 year independent contract. This posiiton is based in Calgary.

Job Overview

This individual will play a key role in the development of the Go to Market strategy (RFx Package), bid evaluation and selection criteria for the project. Furthermore, lead engagements with the Field Logistics and its Stakeholders to aggregate demand, evaluate business requirements and assists in identifying optimization opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop Go To Market strategy, bid evaluation and selection criteria
  • Provide current sub-category market intelligence and historical information related to supplier(s) performance and contract compliance as input to the development of the sub-category strategy and contracting plan
  • Evaluates and develops recommendations for the commercial structures of contracts for (dependent on risk/complexity) materials and services with new and existing suppliers
  • Develop and issue RFP packages (including developing evaluation and selection criteria)
  • Qualify and evaluate bidders as per bid evaluation criteria
  • Develop, negotiate and draft commercial agreements (assigned based on risk/complexity) for provision of materials and services consistent with sub-category strategies
  • Effective implementation and roll out of negotiated contract terms and conditions to respective peers and business unit (end users)
  • Support SCM Ops in sourcing where required related to MUC's or as defined in Procurement Reference Tool
  • Support scope and contract questions from Supply Ops, as required
  • Maintains change management process for contracts
  • Monitor enterprise supplier performance and conduct supplier performance -meetings as deemed appropriate as per the contract
  • Manages contract close-out process and ensure supplier performance feedback is captured for future reference
  • Supports Supply Operations related to inquiries on contract scope or guidance related to assigned MUA's
  • Support contract performance escalations impacting commercial terms
  • Monitor and manage contract spend and contract expiries (maintain SRM contract)


Key Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree in business, economics, law or relevant field
  • Highly developed analytical and business acumen
  • Proficient verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Ability to recognize short-term and long-term trends in the market
  • 6 years of experience within the Oil & Gas Industry
  • SCM designation/certification is an asset

MAJOR FUNCTIONS

To support the Commercial Manager in providing commercial direction, support and advice to E&P in creating, optimising and protecting value through the provision of commercial advice, negotiation and delivery of robust commercial solutions / arrangements and formal agreements.
Provide sound and timely strategic, commercial, economic guidance and advice in support of E&P objectives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Commercial

Provide general commercial support for activities associated with Iraq assets incl. negotiation of new commercial agreements and provide expert advice to those administering agreements.
Assist with the Iraq venture set-up and implementation.
Provide general commercial support for other activities in the Upstream environment including bid rounds, farm-out/in activities etc..
Interface with key external and internal stakeholders.
Potential Crescent Petroleum Committee Representation with external stakeholders.
Assist Commercial Manager with analysis of economic modelling and other tasks as and when required.
Performs other duties, completes additional tasks and supports ad hoc projects as required.
Business Development

Conducts research and provides recommendations in relation to the identification of new business opportunities consistent with the growth plans of the Company.
Builds and maintains excellent relationships with a range of external advisory firms.
Takes part in fairs, meetings and events organized by the E&P Industry, to understand the trends and evolution of the upstream businessReporting and Communication
Reports to the Executive Director of Exploration & Production.
Enhances relationships with counterparts in other oil and gas companies in order to keep pace with technical and market exploration developments.
Maintains and exhibits excellent working relationships with all Crescent staff.

Continuous Development of Position

Conducts regular research and studies to enhance industry knowledge by attending work related conferences particularly within the Energy Sector as well as attending relevant seminars on Commercial, Legal and related Industrial subjects.

Minimum Educational, Technical Qualifications/Certifications Required

Bachelor's degree ideally in Economics or other mathematically rigorous disciplines from a top tier University

Minimum Professional Experience Required

7-10 years of experience within the Global oil and gas sector/advisory services
