Our Client is seeking to hire an Operations Manager based in Accra who will be responsible for safe and efficient hydrocarbon production including:

  • Supervising the Ghana Operations Team which includes the full and Contractor Operations and Maintenance community related to the FPSO and associated infrastructure
  • Serving as "Duty Holder" for the FPSO Safety Cases, being overall accountability for the safe, efficient & reliable operation of fields and associated facilities (Wells, Subsea & FPSO's
  • Serve as Company Single Point of Accountability for all Production Operations Contracts
  • Building and leading a top quartile oversight and assurance operations team in Ghana to consistently and efficiently deliver top quality operations performance in Ghana and fully integrate operations.
  • Accountable for development of all Production Operations staff, with a focus on diversity and inclusion, development of African staff and succession planning for technical disciplines.
  • Assuring contractor performance and capacity
  • Ensuring compliance with the licences / Petroleum Agreements in a very fast moving and growing operating company



You will be an experienced Operations Manager having managed various assets in the Upstream Offshore environment, including floating assets

You will be able to demonstrate experience in the following areas:

  • O&M contract management
  • Change management and process improvement
  • Previous experience leading a large Operations team in a developing country
  • Safety Case status, Case to operate processes, Safety Critical Element Management.
  • Degree qualified in Engineering or equivalent
  • Managed multiple Operational sites
  • Analytical, proven problem solver
  • Excellent communication skills - verbal and written
  • Stakeholder management with external bodies including government and regulatory bodies
  • Ability to work with a number of other technical and non-technical internal groups
  • Performance management of team including develop national staff into senior roles
  • Strong and proven business acumen in commercial, contracts and financial
