An exciting opportunity has arisen with a reputable oil services company who are looking for experienced Direction Drillers to join their team!

Directional Driller Job Description

  • Responsible for advising Bottom Hole Assembly (BHA) selection and all aspects of Directional Drilling performance
  • Ensure correct assembly of planned BHA including torque, doping and handling
  • Communicate with MWD engineer to make sure BHA compatibility and operations are within specification and correct tool face references applied



Directional Driller Job Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in engineering, science or other technical degrees preferred
  • Minimum 3 years' experience of directional drilling

Turnover Lead-Owner/Operator-Southeast Houston, Texas-Contract Opening


Our client, an expanding Owner/Operator, are presently seeking a Turnover Lead to join them at their offices in Southeast Houston. This position is a long-term contract role, offering an excellent rate of pay and potential career progression.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Participates in providing a planned, documented, and managed engineering and construction approach to the turnover and/or commissioning requirements for pre-commissioning and testing of final hand-over facilities, systems, and equipment to the client.
  • Participate in the development of the Systems Turnover program, the Site Quality Manual (SQM) assisting the Quality Manager and engineering discipline leads in determining the appropriate requirements for the equipment and project location to be included in the SQM.
  • Participate in the development of the Turnover Completions program providing safe start up procedures for energized pre-commissioning (static).
  • Manages the work to the terms of the contract by eliminating issues and optimizing performance.
  • Responsible for participation in preparing and managing the approved Turnover & Commissioning budget, estimates.
  • Participates in Subcontracting plans for pre-commissioning, turnover & commissioning, training, testing, reporting and start up activities.
  • Responsible for maintaining the system centric integrated turnover & commissioning schedule, reporting costs associated with commissioning labor and equipment, assisting in the development of a turnover & commissioning plan, managing commissioning personnel, and integrating activities with Engineering, Construction Management, and Commissioning activities and deliverables.
  • Participates in Project pre start-up and safety reviews and follows up for mitigation planning and execution.
  • Manages risk as assigned by the CSU Manager, Senior Project Management and/or Site Management by reviewing risk on a regular basis and identifies significant business risks.
  • Establishes system boundaries, scopes of work, and turnover & commissioning execution plans.
  • Communicates turnover & commissioning roles and scope for members of design and construction teams; understands the commissioning test plans/protocols, and coordinates and/or attends design, construction and operability reviews.
  • Fulfills contract and company requirements by ensuring that the duties and responsibilities of the project contract are clearly defined, documented and followed by the Project team.
  • Prepares turnover & commissioning progress reports for management, CSU Manager or others and assist in development of written test procedures as well as coordinate, witness, and document startup and functional tests.
  • Understanding the current capabilities of automation tools and ensuring that they are being utilized to the full benefit of the department and project.
  • Maintains a safe work environment by administering a proactive environmental, health and safety program oriented towards maintenance activities and zero accidents.
  • Continually improves personal technical, commercial, and organizational knowledge and skills.
  • Work closely with the Technical Department Leader to understand operational process instructions and ensure the facility safe operating limits are maintained
  • Oversee the daily troubleshooting of plant operational and performance problems
  • Work with the Maintenance Superintendent to prioritize daily operations and maintenance activities requiring Permit to Work.
  • Site Security Plan and the Site SIMOPS limits will be understood and administered to meet project requirements.
  • Host existing and potential customers on-site
  • Coordinate company relations with regulatory agencies and stakeholder
  • Other duties as assigned by the site CSU Manager

  • 7 years of direct work/ high level functional knowledge and experience in Large Scale Projects.
  • 2 years supervisory experience
  • 10 years' experience in large scale projects
  • 5 years supervisory experience

Engineering Manager - LNG Operator - Houston, Texas

My client, a growing LNG operator, is looking to recruit an Engineering Manager to join them in their Houston offices. You will be a key individual and will oversee the functions of the companies multi billion dollar LNG project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the full cycle of the project from Pre-FEED to Execution stage.
  • Plan and direct engineering assignments of multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Use technical experience to learn products, champion new ideas and create vision on how to technically grow our product offerings.
  • From a business leadership position, must be able to make decisions that are in the best interest of the company and have the ability to make technical presentations to our customers to aid sales in selling current production, launching new products, and/or gathering technical ideas from our customers.
  • Analyze complex operational requirements, standards, customer specifications, and other documentation to establish scope in sufficient detail to establish guidelines and a starting point for the engineering design.
  • Participates in internal and external customer meetings and Design Review processes providing technical support and best practices guidance.
  • Plans and establishes engineering schedules and follows up performance against estimates. Directs department activities to design new products, modify existing designs, improve production techniques, and develop test procedures.
  • Coordinates and collaborates with Manufacturing to ensure designs for manufacture are completed on-time, on-budget, and meets the quality requirements.
  • Conduct lessons learned on completion of project to identify areas of improvement, arrange and provide training to increase the knowledge base and skills of Project Engineering.
  • Develop or identify tools, methods and processes to drive consistency and improve proficiency.
  • From a manager standpoint must be able to manage and mentor the team and resolve any performance issues.
  • Manages and directs the product support activities for the region. Works in conjunction with the other locations to insure consistent support is provided to our client base across all product lines.
  • Provides planning, direction, and coordination for all technical activities while achieving optimum use of workers, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Prepares department budget, forecasts operating costs of department, and directs preparation of budget requests.
  • Ensures compliance of company policies, procedures, and objectives regarding processes, initiatives, and projects.
  • Manager/supervising experience or lead role in project engineering.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • 20 years of engineering experience with 10 years of management on billion dollar projects.
  • Extensive full cycle project experience up to execution stage is vital.
  • A strong mechanical or process engineering background within the Oil & Gas industry.
  • A minimum bachelors degree within an Engineering subject.
  • Valid US work permit.
