Inspector Job Description

  • Inspect parts, assemblies and subassemblies to drawings and prints
  • Familiarity with all inspection equipment
  • Assures that manufactured units meet quality control procedures, engineering specifications and customer requirements
  • Initiates corrective action requests when conditions adverse to quality are repetitive in nature
  • Completes, inspects and distributes all quality records and documents
  • Capable and experienced in the calibration of all types of inspection equipment
  • May be responsible for conducting the magnetic particle and penetrant testing of parts and initiating and processing non-conformance reports

I am currently recruiting for multiple roles within a large Oil and Gas Organization located in the Broussard, LA area. This company is looking for a well versed Electrical-Mechanical Technician with experience working on downhole tools, equipment, and technologies. The following outlines some of the core duties and responsibilities of this role.

  • Perform maintenance and repair of downhole tools, which could include MWD, LWD and various other tools
  • Other duties would include calibration and inspection of these tools and testing of various components
  • This individual would need to have a strong mechanical & electrical aptitude with preferred experience in the Oil and Gas industry
  • Ability to assemble and disassemble downhole tools
  • Perform QA/QC work as necessary
  • Ability to run a forklift and an overhead crane
  • Able to stand for long periods of time and work long shift, with potentials for weekends.
  • Various other task as directed

Machine Shop Supervisor Responsibilities

  • Manage scheduling of jobs and work flow.
  • Lead daily production meetings communicating safety, quality, scheduling, and efficiencies.
  • Support company mission, vision, strategic plan and goals and support management decisions.
  • Maintain work flow by monitoring steps of the process, setting processing variables, observing control points and equipment.
  • Develop reporting procedures and systems in facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points, initiating fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
  • Complete production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel, accomplishing work results, and establishing priorities.
  • Work closely with other departments to maintain continuous work flow.
  • Maintain quality by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
  • Provide manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data, answering questions and responding to request.
  • Create and revise systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, and budgetary and personnel requirements and implementing the change.
  • Maintain workforce by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees, developing personal growth opportunities.
  • Ensure operations of equipment by calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
  • Educate, train, and direct personnel on the use of all control points, equipment and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Work closely with HR to enforce all policy and procedures as well as partner with HR and management to resolve employee relations issues
