Quality Engineer
Location: Houston

Our client is a leading manufacturer of control and safety products as well as designs and develops solutions for engines, compressors and other rotating equipment. We are looking for an ambitious Quality Engineer to drive continuous process improvement and serve as an internal and external quality expert.

Quality Engineer Responsibilities

  • Drive Continuous Process Improvement using statistical techniques and lean methodology
  • Improve Quality Management System procedures
  • Perform internal and external audits and facilitate action plans for non-conformance's
  • Train employees on ISO-9001, statistical techniques problem solving and quality awareness
  • Support engineering product launches providing PPAP direction for the organization including but not limited to Control Plans, PFMEA, DFMEA, process Maps, and Capability Studies


Quality Engineer Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Technical Field
  • 3-5 years' experience as a Quality Engineer and in a manufacturing environment
  • Must have an extensive understanding of statistics and be Proficient in data analysis


Preferred Experience

  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer
  • Six Sigma Green/Black belt
  • Iso-9001 Lead Auditor
  • Knowledge of machining, assembly and process control

Mechanical Engineer

Petroplan are seeking experienced Mechanical Engineers for various clients within the Gulf Coast region of the United States.


Job Overview
Responsible for the design, inspection and maintenance of various mechanical equipment. Role will be be heavily involved with the facilities engineering and mechanical integrity teams for the Project - The role will also involve providing some Project Engineering / Project MGMT support for various Project groups.


Responsibilities

  • Act as SME (subject matter expert) for all mechanical equipment (rotating and static) on Projects and provide technical support for various Project groups.
  • Implement, and manage, inspection and maintenance schedules / strategies
  • Work closely with the Ops & Maintenance Groups in order to provide FMEA / RCA reports and suggestions
  • Estimates costs for engineering & construction projects
  • Oversee the installation, operation and repair for mechanical equipment


Experience / Qualifications

  • BEng in Mechanical Engineering
  • 8-10 yrs experience in an operational refinery / petro-chem facility
  • Knowledge of rotating equipment (turbines)
  • Knowledge of various industry standards - API, ASME - etc.

Reliability Engineer

Our client, a large oil & gas organization is looking to add a Reliability Engineer for a 12 month independent contract located in Fort McMurray.


Job Overview

  • Reporting to the Reliability Manager, you will work closely with the maintenance group to provide mechanical engineering, and equipment reliability support.


Key Responsibilites

  • Develop equipment strategies and preventive maintenance programs
  • Support failure, root cause, and incident investigations and develop recommendations and action plans to prevent reoccurrence
  • Participate in implementing reliability improvement initiatives in conjunction with the equipment asset multi-functional teams
  • Conduct reliability analysis to predict remaining service life and make recommendations for equipment change out or overhaul
  • Liaise with the vendors and original equipment manufacturers to resolve technical issues
  • Employ equipment health monitoring tools to develop condition alarm thresholds, and technical operating envelops
  • Conduct event driven and predictive maintenance analysis;
  • Develop equipment and component health assessments, using maintenance history, condition monitoring tools and component hours;
  • Liaise with Maintenance Planning and Execution to optimize maintenance scheduling
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to optimize fleet lifecycle;
  • Assess cost opportunities for fleet optimization;


Qualifications

Experience and Education:

  • Four or more years of experience in mobile mining or heavy equipment maintenance and reliability engineering. Any previous mining operations and LVF/Support experience is an asset
  • Bachelor degree in mechanical engineering
  • Registered professional engineer (P.ENG) or eligable for registration
  • Possess a valid driver's license


Skills and Knowledge:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite with a working knowledge of SAP
  • Well-developed critical thinking, with an ability to apply logic and challenge assumptions
  • Strong analytical skills including analyzing data, conducting root cause assessment and drawing and presenting conclusions and recommendations
  • Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to make decisions with integrity and support company objectives and policies
  • Collaborate with others in order to achieve the best results and deliver the most value
  • Constantly ask what could go wrong and check for out-of-the-ordinary conditions and learn to anticipate potential problems

Diesel Mechanic - Permian area

I am currently working with a large Oil and Gas Service company with a strong presence in the Permian area. They are actively hiring for individuals with a strong Diesel Mechanic background. This is a permanent opportunity, not a contract or temporary.

Some of the duties and responsibilities are as followed:

  • Performing routine preventive maintenance on equipment and vehicles
  • Inspecting vehicles and identifying problems
  • Performing routine oil changes
  • Making sure that all vehicles/equipment meet company, DOT, and government standards
  • Keeping proper inventory of parts and tools
  • Documenting and updating vehicle maintenance logs

For this role, you will be required to stay on site for 2-week duration, then have 1 week off. Typical shift are 14 hours, but could be increased. There would be a per diem offered as well.

Global Project Advisor - Aviation - Fuel Provider - Surrey - Permanent


Our client, a provider of specialty Fuels to the Aviation industry, are currently seeking a Global Project Advisor to join them on a permanent basis. This position is highly compensated, offers a long term career plan and will be based in Surrey.
This position requires an Engineering Degree qualified Project Manager from a fuels background.


Key Responsibilities

  • The role is accountable for assuring the companies major capital projects are effectively managed, risks monitored, reported and mitigations managed.
  • To work with the team of Project Managers within the Global Engineering and Projects team, deliver in-house major project by the Global Engineering Team and Project Service Agreements.
  • The role will also be accountable for own specific projects where required.
  • The role will work with the Global Facilities and Project Service Engineer to ensure resources are in place whilst ensuring the in-house PU Major Projects delivery is unaffected.
  • Drive continuous improvement, support the Technical Endorsement Review process of projects and provide assurance of projects $10mill and above.
  • The role shall ensure governance processes are in place and utilised correctly to ensure to project success of all major projects.
  • To ensure the function and the PU remains complaint in CVP/ PcP and maintains conformance level 5 in all engineering project delivery elements, whilst also supporting the growth agenda.
  • To ensure all processes are in place to ensure successful Capital Value Projects delivery and provide mentoring and guidance to project teams on capital projects.
  • Network with the Technical Services Manager and Global Facilities and Project Service Engineer for Project Services offer development and pricing.


Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • Professional qualification from an Engineering Institution with Chartered Engineer status

Summary:

The mechanic is responsible for the mechanical workings of all vehicles and ensures operational readiness of equipment and vehicles by performing preventive maintenance.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Read diagrams/schematics for work procedures
  • Operate a hoist and lift device to position machinery in a safe manner
  • Inspect and examine vehicles and equipment
  • Perform routine maintenance work - Oil changes, Light vehicle maintenance
  • Mechanics need to meet all company, DOT, and government standards with equipment repairs and maintenance
  • Responsible for communication with shop supervisor on equipment readiness
  • Promotes safety awareness and environmental consciousness, and complies with all applicable health, safety and environmental procedures and regulations
  • Actively support monitor and adhere to all objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Field Mechanics are required to keep proper inventory of parts
  • Other duties as assigned
