Our client is looking for an Entry Level Material Handler in Mount Pearl, NL.

This is a contract position until Novemeber 2020.

Rate: $25-29 /hr

Schedule: 5 days a week x 8 Hrs a Day.

Expectation to be available for OT outside of business hours.

Requirements: Training to be paid for - H2S, First Aid, Forklift.
Will operate Forklift/Telehandler, Pumps, Pressurized Tanks.

Required to drive Light Duty vehicle (F-250).

The successful candidate will have:

  • Good communication & customer skills
  • Assists in the operation of liquid mud plants or bulk product plants (mix, ship, pump & receive)
  • Stage material orders, ensuring proper quantities and appearance.
  • Works with the Crane Operator in the loading and offloading of materials.

Responsibilties:

  • Under direct supervision, safely and effectively supports the daily stockpoint operations through mixing liquid mud, loading bulk products.
  • Shipping and receiving pallet materials for the purpose of ensuring the delivery of quality customer service, world-class safety, and stockpoint efficiency.
  • Check material orders for proper quantities.
  • Operates forklifts as required.
  • Skills are typically acquired through completion of a High School diploma or equivalent.
  • This is an entry level position

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a recognized and approved program with 7 years of experience working in drilling and workover operations including adequate supervisory experience

OR

High School degree with 13 years of relevant experience in drilling and workover operations including supervisory experience

As a subject matter expert:

Be able to supervise drilling and completion operations of both oil or gas horizontal wells in a safe and efficient manner while following a defined drilling program

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coordinate deliveries of materials to the well to ensure it is available when required.
  • Work with Drilling and Workover engineers to see that modern drilling practices are followed
  • Approve contractor daily tour reports
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as directed by the superintendent.
  • Assure that rig and personnel comply with established safety standards and procedures

SUMMARY
The Supervisor, Maintenance Services will be responsible for managing the execution and day-to-day maintenance scaffolding, insulation, asbestos removal, painting, civil jobs, and projects. This position will assure work is completed in an orderly, timely, and cost-effective fashion. When necessary, this position may be required to operate equipment and perform production activities to complete the necessary improvements or project installations. This position will report to the Manager, Central and Contractor Maintenance Services.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise and direct the production of the assigned department to meet production schedules that meet quality requirements
  • Maintain efficiency and utilization throughout department via assigning manpower to address productivity, process, and quality issues where needed
  • Maintain equipment, improve processes, and develop employees in department to meet quality and productivity requirements along with communication expectations
  • Assure company standards are met
  • Maintain departmental adherence to high standards of safety and housekeeping in compliance with company policies and governmental regulations
  • Maintain positive employee and management relations within the guidelines of company policy
  • Hold regular communication and start-up meetings with staff to drive day-to-day tasks and resolutions
  • Drive improvement through recommendations and assist in root-cause analysis, along with driving autonomous maintenance activities
  • Supervise and oversee industrial painting projects: surface preparation, coating installation, generic types of coatings, environmental conditions, installation techniques, and tolerances
  • Oversee insulation projects:
    • Application, removal, and repair of multiple types of industrial insulation materials
    • Fabrication and installation of aluminum and stainless steel insulation jacketing parts on industrial equipment, pipes, and storage tanks
    • Transportation of materials and equipment to jobsite
    • Erecting scaffolding
    • Managing general labor
  • Manage owned scaffolding
  • Ability to coordinate with customer, other trades and supply vendors
  • Follow company policies and procedures in regards safety and environmental guidelines

REQUIREMENTS
Education

  • Journeyman level certification as a carpenter/scaffold builder or painter required OR
  • Associate's degree in Engineering or vocational training required

Experience

  • Five years' experience working in a refinery setting required
  • NCCER certification required in a refinery trade
  • Five years' supervisory experience required
  • Five years of previous experience as foreman journeyman or maintenance supervisor required

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Ability to read blueprints and construction drawings
  • Industrial insulation, commercial mechanical insulation or other relevant experience required
  • Sheet metal layout knowledge and experience working with sheet metal tools
  • Knowledge and experience with industrial insulation materials and industrial applications required
  • Metal building construction
  • Basic Microsoft applications and SAP knowledge
  • Primavera software knowledge preferred
  • Good problem-solving abilities
  • Good aptitude and manual dexterity
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to lead others and provide detailed task instructions
  • Results-driven with strong planning and organization skills

Applicable Additional Requirements

  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to obtain, or currently possess, a valid Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC)

Physical Requirements

  • Work is generally in an office and refinery setting
  • Ability to occasionally lift up-to 50 pounds, push & pull, reach overhead, operate hand tools, stoop & squat, wear breathing apparatus, enter confined spaces, and utilize all necessary personal protective equipment

In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical support for the refinery process units as a member of a multi-functional team to promote a safe and environmentally sound facility operation.

You will use your expertise to:
* Optimize unit performance through defining unit constraints, solving performance bottlenecks, and identifying energy conservation opportunities to help determine the optimal operating plan
* Monitor unit mass balances, catalyst activity, heat exchanger performance, unit yields, and performance of advanced control loops to provide recommended modifications to operating procedures and operational guidelines
* Provide leadership on initiatives that will improve safety performance and environmental compliance, lead and participate in root cause analysis related to exceedances, recommend and implement process changes and projects to prevent repeat environmental events, and develop proactive solutions to environmental issues
* Oversee and participate in process safety management (PSM) activities such as, management of change (MOC), pre-start up-safety-review (PSSR), and setting, monitoring, and tracking safe operating limits.
* Participate and manage incident investigations, including root-cause analysis
* Provide technical, troubleshooting, and turnaround support to the cross-functional team which includes operations, maintenance, inspection, process controls, and reliability representatives
* Review and develop operating procedures, work with operators in implementing procedures, and assist in normal shutdowns, startups, and emergency operations
* Mentor and guide less experienced employees as applicable

* Four years of petroleum refinery (or related) experience
