Reservoir Engineer

Petroplan is actively recuiting for a Reservoir Engineer on behalf of our oil & gas company client. This role will be based in Houston on a permanent basis with attractive compensation package and benefits.

Job Summary:

Responsible for business and reservoir management and surveillance, this role will work closely with engineering staff to ensure efficient Asset Management, Reservoir/Resource Management, Well Optimization & Performance while supporting operations. The Reservoir Engineer will surveil production and pressure data to identify performance trends and recommend recovery plans in coordination with operations and engineering business units.

Responsibilities:

  • Asset and well surveillance for performance. Short and long term forecasting and budget preparation.
  • Asset Analysis and A&D.
  • Coordination and preparation of projects for approval, implementation and execution.
  • Ensure industry technology is transferred, integrated and applied throughout company.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 12 - 20 years of experience; multiple years supporting unconventional horizontal assets.
  • Solid reservoir engineering skillset (volumetrics, decline curve, log analysis, and RTA/PTA analysis).
  • Expert level economic preparation and analysis.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-function professionals at all levels
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Extensive Aries expertise


Key Skills:

  • Oil and gas industry expert who develops solutions and proposes changes to company practices & standards.
  • Demonstrated project management skills and techniques in planning, operations and analysis.
  • 10 years Shale experience.
  • Track record of successful field development plans and programs as a reservoir engineer.


Education:

  • BS in a relatable engineering field (or higher)

Reservoir Engineering Tech

Petroplan is actively seeking applications for a Reservoir Engineering Tech to work on behalf of a growing and reputable oil & gas company in the Dallas area.

This is a great opportunity to join a privately owned unconventional E&P focused company known for treating its employees well with lucrative earning potential.

Responsibilities include:

  • The Reservoir Engineering Tech will be responsible for the ARIES reserves database as well as managing corporate reserves and reporting.
  • Supporting acquisition evaulation opportunities.
  • Supporting other teams as necessary including Financ, GIS, etc. in generating ARIES outputs for financial modeling.
  • Gathering and managing data in Excel, Access, SQL, Spotfire, etc.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (engineering/science preferred)
  • 7 years of experience as an engineering technician or analyst supporting reservoir engineering functions.
  • Strong understanding of the inner working of an oil & gas company.
  • ARIES Power user.
  • Strong MS Office skills, including Excel and Access.
  • Strong team player able to work in a dynamic working environment.

Petroplan are working with a client in their search for a Senior Structural Engineer to join their Aberdeen team on a permanent basis.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Extensive experience in the design, analysis and installation of structural steelwork on offshore rigs and vessels.
  • A proven track record in coordinating structural engineering design teams as an integral part of a multidiscipline project.
  • Chartered or approaching Chartered Engineer status.
  • Candidates should be educated to degree level or above in either structural engineering or Naval Architecture.
  • Candidates should demonstrate or have a willingness to undertake role specific training and development.
  • Membership of a relevant engineering institute is advantageous.

Skills:

  • The position will require candidates to interact with people at various levels within the organisation both regionally and globally and externally with client representatives. It is therefore essential that candidates be in possession of strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • The position calls for a self-motivated individual who has the adaptability to work effectively as part of team and as an individual.
  • CAD experience would be an advantage but not essential as the candidate will work closely with our engineering draughtsmen.
