Summary: Our client, an industry leader in the petroleum exploration and production industry, is seeking an experience Procurement and Contracts Specialist for their Kuala Lumpur office. Reporting to the Team Leader, the Procurement and Contracts Specialist will be responsible for executing all contract and procurement related activities in compliance with company policy, regulations and SSHE Guidelines. *Please note: this role is a 12-month contract role, on-site.Scope of Work: To execute requirements by end-user in the most effective way. To ensure all activities carried out are in line with company's policy To continuously improve the internal procurement process where possible and highlight potential risk and exposure to the company To educate other sections of the company with regards to best practices and achieving full cost recovery. To participate in procurement related activities with third parties and submit required reports by Group Procurement. Required background and qualifications: Required: Minimum five years' experience in the Oil and Gas industry. Required: Minimum three years relevant working experience in Malaysia, working with an E&P operator. Education Required: Bachelor's Degree in relevant field. Professional Certificate by accredited bodies/associations is an advantage but not necessary. Proficiency with SAP is an advantage but not necessary Exposure to the PTCAM revision and implementation of the manual, with hands-on experience on all forms of procurement process in the last three years, is an asset. Ensure compliance with all submissions required by CLIENT. Coordinate response to queries from CLIENT. Ensure Company is well-represented at industry and trade groups. Assist the Manager, Commercial and JV Management with the annual budget for the department. Key Authorities Responsible for the review of PSC's, sales agreements, farmout agreements, JOA's and other contracts. Responsible for presentations and communications with CLIENT. Responsible for contracts and commercial arrangement. Responsible for planning and tracking COMPANY's PSC performance. Qualifications and Experience Mandatory Minimum 10 years experience in the upstream Oil & Gas industry. Experience with Production Sharing Contracts, Joint Operating Agreements and Sales Agreements. Experience with joint-venture management. Strong teamwork, communications, and leadership skills. University degree (or similar qualification) in Engineering, Finance, or Law. Experience with major oil and gas projects. Experience in negotiating oil and gas contracts. Fluent in oral & written English. Desirable Familiarity with the Malaysian upstream oil & gas industry.
