Project Controls Coordinator

Petroplan is in search for a Field Project Controls Coordinator in Edmonton, AB.

This is a 1 year contract.

  • Lead and coordinate development of field project control Plan. Participate in the development of field controls deliverables including but not limited to: score card template, RFP review process, progress report variance analysis, and change management procedure.
  • Provide analysis and support to the project team related to construction contract management, forecast and budget analysis, schedule review, LEMS entry, reporting of incurred costs and earned value measurements.
  • Liaise with other field stakeholders to ensure engagement with the construction progress, changes, highlights and issues. Communicate the construction status and issues with PMs and control team in the office.
  • Facilitate weekly progress meetings with contractor rep. and Construction Manager or Chief Inspector.
  • Project Cost Control Responsibilities
  • Lead development of project WBS and project control management plan.
  • Communicate and coordinate scope of work, progress reporting requirements, and company procedures with internal and external stakeholders to ensure conformance with project execution plan.
  • Prepare project funding, budgeting, and cost estimate.
  • Perform resource planning and levelling.
  • Establish project baselines.
  • Integrate schedule and cost. Perform Earned Value Management, variance analysis, and mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor and manage approved budget, incurred cost, commitment, and forecast at completion.
  • Initiate, monitor and report Change Orders and AFE Revisions.
  • Manage contingency and escalation.
  • Assist project manager in reviewing the bidding documents.
  • Prepare accurate multi-level project reports. Participate project meeting. Present cost status and major issues to project team. Propose and execute preventative and corrective actions.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Post secondary education in engineering or construction. Project Management Professional credential (PMP) is preferred
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in construction, specific knowledge and experience related to pipeline projects
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and to work with a minimum level of supervision
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively in a team environment
  • Computer skills using Power BI, Ecosys, Oracle, SAP and Microsoft Office products specifically Excel
  • Need to visit the site bi-weekly or as required

Learning Management System (LMS) Administrator

Petroplan is in search for a Learning Management System (LMS) Administrator in Calgary.

This is a 1 year contract.

Reporting to the Manager, Competency & Learning, the LMS Administrator is responsible for the overall administration and support of SuccessFactors LMS, 3rd Party external contractor LMS, and personnel training data and processes. This includes collaboration with Site Training Administrators, Information Services (IS) and Applications Support groups, as well as vendors to leverage the LMS effectively and efficiently to support learning activities across the organization. The role requires in depth understanding of components, features, and functions of the SuccessFactors LMS and other SF HR modules.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Managing master data for SuccessFactors LMS (define and support master data build, manage personnel data related to training, and test and publish online training (WBTs))
  • Troubleshooting issues and working with IS / Application Support teams and other stakeholders to resolve technical, system and master data related issues
  • Managing business processes between LMS and site level training activities
  • Supporting site level LMS Training Administrators and end users, including master data build activities and training delivery for system functionality
  • Liaising with 3rd party online training developers and internal business stakeholders
  • Participating in testing activities related to configuration changes and regular system upgrades
  • Receiving and responding to LMS related queries via the HRInfoline
  • Supporting a 3rd party vendor LMS (FiLMS) used to manage external contractor training
  • Generating and distributing reports as required

MUST HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, Learning and Development, or related field of study
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with Learning Management System including web-based training management, preferably SuccessFactors
  • Previous experience with testing activities related to configuration changes and regular system upgrades
  • Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office - especially Excel

NICE TO HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with Authoring tools would be an asset (e.g. Captivate, Storyline, etc.)

We are currently looking for a Sr HR Advisor, Compensation to join our Human Resources Compensation team. Reporting to the Sr. Mgr., Compensation & Global Mobility, this individual will participate in the design, development, and communication of compensation programs for global businesses, with focus on long term incentive programs, and Asia Pacific compensation.

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Responsible for the development and administration of long-term incentive program, including reporting and governance.
  • Provide ongoing consultation and subject-matter expertise to HR Business Partners, including Asia Pacific-based stakeholders, on compensation-related policies, programs, practices and administration.
  • Participation in domestic and global market surveys, including analysis, reporting and program recommendations with a focus on Asia Pacific.
  • Participate in the company-wide annual compensation review including the development of the compensation review planning calendar, training material, liaising with HRIS on technical issues, providing troubleshooting support and advice to HR Business Partners throughout the planning cycle, testing planned system/tool enhancements and identifying system/process improvements for future years.
  • Represent industry peer groups and continually monitor external competitive practices, policy changes, and benchmarks through independent research and networking with peers.
  • Lead specific compensation projects and initiatives as required. These will vary in size, scope and duration and may be individual or team based.
  • Utilizing SAP, SuccessFactors, Shareworks and other sources of information to extract, analyze and report on internal compensation trends, as well as pursue opportunities for system/process improvements.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to team members.
  • Development of communication materials to enhance the awareness and understanding of compensation initiatives with HR Business Partners and line leaders.


The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years direct compensation experience, minimum 6 of those in long-term incentives
  • Post secondary degree in Business.
  • Experience in interpretation and statistical analysis of market data.
  • Minimum 10 years experience in HR demonstrating the ability to deal with confidential material in a manner demonstrating sound judgment.
  • Highly skilled with Excel and other MS Office programs.
  • Experience with HR SAP, SuccessFactors or similar employee database applications.
  • Experience with Shareworks Solium
  • High level of discretion in dealing with highly confidential and sensitive information.
  • Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines

Job purpose

Responsible for managing the contracting activities of the clients Upstream projects.

  • Responsible for highlighting any major commercial or contractual risks or issues to the relevant Project Managers and work with them to ensure optimum solution.
  • Assist with project cost analysis to support improvements in estimating and business improvements in project teams.
  • Ensures that compliance needs of contracts are satisfied including insurance certificates, authority levels and contract approvals.
  • Coordinates the post-award contract administration, including change management, lien waivers, insurance issues, claims mitigation and contract close-outs.
  • Assists in preparation of responses/reports to any internal and statutory audit queries/requirements.
  • Ensures that all executed project contract agreements are entered and maintained in the Oracle Database System for Contractor invoice payment and accounting purposes.
  • Reviews contractor nominated subcontractor bid lists for acceptability.
  • Manages all contractual related contractor correspondence.
  • Maintains contract file system in a logical and functional state. Ensure to Work safely and think proactively about personal safety and safety of others at work
  • Actively participate in, contribute to, and promote company occupational health, safety, security and environment culture.
  • Ensure work is carried out in accordance with the Company HSE and Security policies and procedures and meet company HSE goals and targets and participate in HSE programs.
  • Stand-by / on-call duties when required; and any other related tasks.

The Land Surveyor shall:

  • Measuring the ground as required by the Client or Project Manager, including aspects such as small and large-scale distances, angles and elevations.
  • Topographical Surveys: gathering data on the earth's physical and man-made features through surveys.
  • Topographic survey and calculations of cut & fill, Volume of Stockpiles using AutoCAD & NRG Surveying Software.
  • Processing data and the production of digital mapping from the Processed Surveys.
  • Making use of geographical information systems (GIS) to analyse and interpret site features.
  • Producing detailed information (subsequently analysed by planners, builders and cartographers).
  • Interpreting data using maps, charts and plans.
  • Utilizing data from a range of sources, such as aerial photography, satellite surveys and laser Scanners.
  • Computer-aided design (CAD) and other IT software to interpret data and present information.
  • Using a range of equipment to produce surveys, including GPS and conventional methods.
  • Provide technical survey expertise to enable accurate activities, quantification of onsite lay outs.
  • Established & maintain the primary traverse, 1st and 2nd stage control networks that are used in setting out.
  • Computing the correct coordinates of the traverse using known techniques.
  • Setting out / stake out of all the coordinates project boundary & property lines alignments and elevations for roads, swales, ditches and manholes, design elevations, structure position, drains, centre line and offset reference using Total Stations, GPS & Scanners.
  • Set, check line and grade of vertical structures using laser of electronic total stations.
  • Hydrographic surveys of riverbeds to create a 3D model for dredge design & volume analysis.
  • Deformation monitoring, including the movement of structures, highways and railway infrastructure.
  • As built surveys.
  • Weekly / monthly earthworks volume surveys & volume reports for sub-contractor payment assessment.
  • Checking the location or coordinates of all construction drawings and master plan before work starts and calculate coordinates and elevations to be set out.
  • Prepare accomplishment report of the as built surveys for submission to the QC department.
  • Coordinate with the Site Engineers for the priority of the project regarding implementation, changes of plans or deviations, unusual activities or non-conformances rectification work and coordinate with the consultant for Inspection & Approval.
  • Monitoring, inspection, documentation and ensure quality of work is maintained in the implementation of work as detailed on the drawings, plans and specifications.
  • Supervision and monitoring of the survey teams to consolidate survey works. Use as built interferences and prepare reports for submission to the engineering department for revision of drawings.
  • Retention of all records of the works in digital & hard format in preparation for the as built drawings.

As a quantity surveyor, you'll seek to minimise the cost and risk of a construction project and enhance value for money, while still achieving the required legal standards and quality. This includes ensuring statutory building regulations are met.

You'll prepare estimates and costs of the work and when the project is in progress, you'll keep track of any variations to the contract that may affect costs and create reports to show profitability.

Petroplan is in search for an Integrity Engineer in North York, ON.

This is a 1 year contract.

This role is in the Integrity & Asset Management department. The goal of the Integrity department is to ensure the safe and reliable operation of all the company's gas-carrying assets. The role resides in the Integrity Assessments team which focuses on risk modelling and assessment, Integrity data governance, and software administration for all integrity sub-programs

The focus of this position is to expand the current scope of risk assessment models, make improvements to existing models, and manage & oversee integrity data collection to support new models. Strong analytical and problem solving skills, and self learning of industry modelling techniques, basic understanding of statistics, and understanding of SQL and VB Script coding languages is required.

Qualifications:

Required:
- Professional Engineer (P. Eng) Designation with 4 years engineering experience
- Strong independent problem solver
- Understanding of the gas utility industry
- Strong communication skills to relay technical information clearly and concisely

Preferred:
- Quantitative risk modeling in piping industry

- Previous experience in the gas utility industry or integrity risk & reliability assessments is preferred.
- Experience with SQL, VB Script, and VBA coding languages
- Advanced mathematical and statistical techniques
- Knowledge of ECDA
- Knowledge of QRA techniques
- Experience with creating PowerBI interactive dashboards
- Knowledge of pipeline materials and metallurgy
