The Electrical / Instrumentation technical specialist will provide technical support to the Lloydminster Heavy Oil and Gas, Thermal, Maintenance Ready for Operations (M-RFO) team.


* Is based in Lloydminster and is an office position.
* Reports to the M-RFO team lead.
* Will require occasional site visits to Operational facilities.

Core Responsibilities:

  • 1. Support the creation of the SAP Hierarchy
  • Audit the SAP hierarchy and resolve discrepancies
  • Participate in asset criticality and critical spares identification
  • Lead and assist in the development, creation, and optimization of SAP Plant Maintenance in alignment with maintenance and planning standards
  • Collaborate with stakeholders as required to complete scope
  • Build time based and condition-based Preserve Task Lists
  • Build / contribute to Operator Performed Maintenance Task Lists
  • Lead and assist in the definition of Assembly creation
  • Lead and assist in the development / creation of Material Masters and Equipment BOMs
  • Roll out SAP Maintenance Plans, Items and Task Lists to the facility Maintenance and Operations Teams
  • Lead the evaluation of critical spares
  • Collaborate with stakeholders as required to complete scope
  • Identify failures modes and associated critical spares; define maintenance strategy

  • Identify warehouse preservation requirements of critical sparing
  • Ensure processes are carried out effectively and drive continuous improvement

Qualifications Required


* One of the following:

  • 1 - Journeyman Instrumentation with inter-provincial red seal (or eligibility for designation), OR
  • 2 - Instrumentation Technologist, OR
  • 3 - Journeyman Electrician / Instrumentation (dual ticket) with inter-provincial red seal (or eligibility for designation)
  • Minimum of 3-6 years instrumentation maintenance experience in the oil and gas, petrochemical, pulp and paper or power generation industries
  • Experience with instrumentation work order execution, task list scoping, equipment troubleshooting
  • Experience / working knowledge of a Centralized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), e.g. SAP PM, Maximo
  • A good understanding and working knowledge of:
  • Pressure equipment, rotating, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and controls equipment,
  • Various engineered drawings and documents, e.g. P&IDs, single lines drawings, datasheets, equipment manuals
  • Strong computer skills with MS Office suite
  • Professional and personable individual who:
  • oWorks well in a team as well as individually to achieve results in a busy environment with multiple stakeholders
  • Is a fast learner with the ability to develop and enhance new ideas

The candidate will be part of the Project Controls team covering the Project Office role:

The main responsibility will be the Resource Management during the Execution phase of the project.

Key Responsibilities / Tasks

  • The candidate will act as the main link between the Project Controls Department and the Project Services Resoruces Management Department.
  • Keep an updated Project Resources Plan aligning all the inputs and needs coming from the Project and the External Market.

  • Proven experience in similar positions related to Resources Management.

Must have: Pipefitter or a pipe fitting background

The sucessful candidate will report to the turnaround planning lead and be responsible to estimate and plan all turnaround activities by retrieving and collecting all relevant information. You will present it in such manner that the turnaround work can be executed expediently and as economically as possible.

Key Accountabilities

  • Obtain and review historical records of previously executed turnaround jobs
  • Develop the turnaround scope of a preliminary step listing from work requests
  • Monitor and maintain a continual update of the work requirements and requests, paying special attention to contracts and projects being run simultaneously or in conjunction with the current turnaround
  • Assist in the development of the planned schedule using SAP and the Primavera planning system from which progress and completion requirements can be determined
  • Review work scope change requests prior to their introduction into the proposed schedule, and projects impact upon the turnaround plan
  • Assist in the development of post-turnaround activities, review plans and associated monitoring
  • Prepare a summary of actual duration of individual jobs for submission to cost control to enable them to complete the budget reconciliation.
  • Arrange and classify information for the summarization of planned projection versus actual performance
  • Itemize actual data for use in future turnarounds or other maintenance work estimates and planning situations


Required Qualifications

  • Five or more years of experience in planning and coordinating turnaround activities within the oil and gas industry
  • Rotating equipment experience is considered an asset
  • Valid Interprovincial Red Seal Journeyman ticket
  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Possess a valid driver's licence and a clean driving record


Skills and Knowledge:

  • Knowledgeable in planning systems (SAP, Primavera, Microsoft Project)
  • Deep understanding of planning and scheduling concepts as well as maintenance practices, performances measures, scheduling tools and techniques
  • Working knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems (preferably SAP) and material management systems
  • Detailed and thorough knowledge of production equipment and control systems and plants and facilities in the oil and gas industry
  • You constantly interact with others across a multitude of business units and effectively communicate with them to develop positive working relationships
  • You continually seek greater knowledge about the systems, processes and hazards in the workplace, in order to understand not just what you do but why you do it

Rotating Machinery Engineer

This position is for 6-9 months to be based in Surrey.

Responsibilities/Skills

  • Responsible for the design, specification, selection, and services relating to rotating machinery including gas turbines, steam turbines, compressors, pumps, and packaged equipment.
  • The required competency and skills would typically have been built up working for a consultant engineering company, machinery manufacturer, or end user company.
  • Personnel would be expected to have a varied and extensive experience of mechanical equipment applications in the onshore and offshore oil and gas project environment to include concept, front end engineering design, detailed design, commissioning and operations.
  • A specialist and detailed knowledge of centrifugal, axial and reciprocating compressors, pumps, and gas/steam turbines is essential including field experience in the manufacturing, performance testing, commissioning, and trouble shooting.
  • A good working knowledge of machinery rotor dynamics, machinery performance calculations, lubrication, shaft sealing, and machinery selection criteria is essential.
  • Also required is a good working knowledge of industry standards for mechanical equipment.
  • Selected personnel will be highly competent in written and spoken communication and be able to use a range of standard software such as MS Word and MS Excel to prepare technical documents and to write technical reports.
  • Job success will depend on interpersonal skills and the effective interaction with others.

Qualifications

The minimum qualification requirements for this position are a first degree in Mechanical Engineering and a full professional qualification as a Chartered Engineer (full member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers or a recognised equivalent).

Previous relevant experience of working on design engineering projects for the Oil & Gas industry is absolutely essential.
