Job Opportunity - Reciprocating Compressor Specialist - Middle East

Our Client, an Operator, is currently recruiting for a Reciprocating Compressor Specialist join them on a 2-year contract that will require the candidate to be based in country on a residential basis.

The position requires the employee to monitor, review and approve (as required) EPC contractor relevant engineering/design activities. Ensures all deliverables related to reciprocating compressor package are in accordance to the projects' and company's design intent, prescribed specifications and good engineering practice and are completed within schedule.

Essential experience:

  • Oversees development of reciprocating compressor equipment selection and design concepts and ensure proper application and execution.
  • Work experience as a Reciprocating Engineer with a tier 1/major EPC Contractor or Vendor in the development of EPC deliverables
  • Carry out technical bid evaluations to ensure vendor compliance with material requisitions.
  • Work experience with an oil/gas operating company
  • Expert knowledge of codes and standards applicable to rotating equipment in oil and gas installations

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum of 15 years' experience

Job description:

The Process Safety Risk Engineer will provide specialist expertise to support projects in the implementation of the client philosophies, including a focus on inherently safer design approaches. The Engineer will also have a lead role in managing major project accident hazards and risks.

Key Accountabilities: -

  • Support major projects by taking a leadership role in process safety to ensure that process safety concerns relating to the full life cycle of the project have been identified, understood, and managed - Develop and maintain the Projects Design Hazard Management Plan.

  • Support the design teams by determining appropriate hazard and risk management studies required, defining study requirements and scope, providing oversight of the studies, and working with the teams to integrate the study results into the facility design

Our client is looking for a senior Flexible Pipes & Analyses engineer to integrate their "risers, installation Analyses and umbilical" (RIAU) department.

They are looking for an Engineer to work from Tender to project, through technology, RIAU discipline is delivering high end performance on the various domains (Flexible, Rigid risers, Installation Analyses, Umbilical and controls). The current vacancy aims to reinforce the Flexible System Group.
Integrated within the RIAU team the engineer will be supporting tender and/or project for the technical follow-up of the Flexible package. They will also contribute to the development of in-place analyses of riser, static jumpers.
Under the responsibility of the technical manager or the RIAU lead Engineer, your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Understand Client needs develop specification for Suppliers.
  • Interface with project team, engineering teams and SCM
  • Support the selection of the Supplier through technical evaluation
  • Plan, detail and review technical documentation relating to Flexible, subsea hardware and topside interface.

  • MSc or PhD in Mechanical Engineering/Hydrodynamics, you have relevant work experience in the oil and gas industry or equivalent. This experience ideally includes in place design or installation analyses of Flexible and Flexible pipe design.
  • Proficient in FEA modelling and you know OrcaFlex software
  • English is fluent
  • Technical expertise to Flexible design and fabrication process as well as reporting creation by vendors as part of a qualification program.
  • Knowledge on installation, on bottom stability, routing, crossing

Primary accountability is to build and maintain a master schedule for all relevant SCADA Replacement Program (SRP) and related business area (PCSLD, MP/LP Projects, and TIS LP) projects and initiatives, based on the project schedules created and maintained by each project:

* Help ensure all internal (SRP) projects and all relevant external projects and/or initiatives (currently consisting of a portfolio of 40 projects) from the dependent business projects have an integration plan into OASyS
* Design, execute, and maintain a process to integrate new project schedules and remove completed project schedules from the master schedule

Specific Accountabilities

* Collaborate with project managers on the standards/consistency of project schedules to ensure an appropriate level detail is included and available for inclusion in the master schedule
* Develop knowledge and competency in SRP execution methodology and processes, as well as general terminology for Operational Technology (OT) projects and initiatives
* Identify, maintain, and communicate inter-project delivery milestones, critical paths, dates, and dependencies through the master schedule
* Be able to build a variety of views off the master schedule to help with reporting and presentations
* Often, or near real-time, collaborate with SRP leads and project managers and use project schedules to keep the master schedule and associated progress indicators updated
* Constantly monitor project schedules for changes and work with Project Managers, as needed, to validate and understand all changes in the context of the master schedule
* Highlight and communicate any immediate or potential risks and impacts identified in the master schedule to the affected Project Managers

Qualifications

* Post-secondary degree or diploma, or equivalent work experience in a related field or industry
* 15 years of scheduling, or related project experience - experience in managing projects would be considered an asset
* Must be a proven high performer, based on prior performance reviews
* Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP) is an asset
* Seen as a scheduling expert and a great communicator, able to work with project managers and people leaders
* Can develop processes for efficiently building and maintaining schedules and can troubleshoot specific controls issues and make applicable changes
* High proficiency in MS Excel and MS Project

Position: Lead Subsea Pipeline Engineer

Specific Key Responsibilities & Activities

  • Coordinate pipeline engineering support to the execution of projects and tenders in line with defined budget and schedule
  • Provide specialist skills in key areas of subsea pipeline engineering, including design codes, legislative requirements and current good engineering practice
  • Produce and check deliverables, which may include: design calculations, procedures, analyses, progress reports, bid evaluations, study reports and various third-party submissions
  • Provide mechanical and integrity calculations for offshore pipelines using DNV Tools, Abaqus or similar software
  • Liaise with associated subsea related disciplines and understand the interfaces within a project
  • Provide pipeline engineering assistance during occasional periods of offshore or site working
  • Provide pipeline engineering support to Business Acquisition and FEED study execution
  • Train / mentor junior and Graduate engineers
  • Actively participate in relevant training to pursue continuing professional development

Civil Field Supervisor

Petroplan are assisting a major Oil & Gas client of ours with the appointment of a Civil Supervisor. The primary purpose of the role is to deliver a major body of work surrounding on the construction of access roads and well-pads in a remote location in East Africa.

The role holder will successfully report and deliver the specifications for construction activities to the Field Superintendent and the Well Engineering Lead.

  • Ensure Civil Engineering projects are completed and fully compliant with Company Policies, Procedures and Legal Requirements, Particular Safety and Ensuring Safe Systems of Work.
  • Liaise with the Regulatory bodies, including SHE, review and make recommendations on health, safety and environmental regulations and strategies to ensure compliance.
  • Provide assurance that field activities are constructed in an efficient, technically competent, safe, cost effective and environmentally responsible manner.

  • 8/4 (2 week quarantine on arrival in country followed by a 6 week stint on site)

Essential:

  • Minimum of 10 years of international experience in a broad range of job functions covering civil engineering and construction activities in support to the oil and gas industry.

  • Experience of operations in various environments including; Onshore/ Remote / Harsh locations with challenging logistical issues.
  • Experience of a wide range of civil engineering activities including the planning and executing of complex construction projects.

Lead SCM Engineer

The SCM Lead will be the owner of a complex subcontract or PO by managing all aspect of the contract and coordinating all engineering issues related to the product to deliver, in line with the project SCM strategy.

Specific Key Responsibilities & Activities

  • Ensure compliance with all Supply Chain policies, process and procedures.
  • Proactively contribute to the project definition of SCM strategies and goals and the achievement of these.
  • Ensure highly effective implementation of the sourcing strategy for the assigned business area via business partnering initiatives, knowledge and expertise.
  • Manage the process and stake holders relevant to the specific role, including internal challenges and support to client negotiation.
  • Accountable from the issuance of the RFQ, the selection, management and monitoring of suppliers, up to the product or service delivery to the end user.
  • Coordinate and/or perform commercial and contractual analysis, schedule evaluation of bids, and incorporate technical evaluation from Engineering, QA, QC & HSE. Finalise the bid summary and make recommendations to the Project SCM Manager for technically acceptable solutions.
  • Report according to project requirement, on progress and problems on the Awards.
  • Manage commercial and financial issues arising from his/her assigned subcontract or Purchase order-negotiate all Variation/change Orders and provide regular cost forecast of PO/subcontract.
  • Ensure SCM capitalises from lessons learned and is performed in accordance with best practice, striving to mitigate risk, promoting safety and integrity consistently.
  • Take full ownership for the implementation of his/her section of the Project Procurement Plan, together with Project Management, Engineering (and/or others as appropriate and applicable)
  • Support the development of the local Supply Chain Function through guidance and coaching to more junior members of the team.
  • Have a good understanding of the overall technical issue and a good knowledge of the offshore industry, of its specificities, of complex items and provide support to his team as and when necessary.
