Description

  • Medium to long range focus on reliability issues from a Mechanical Engineering perspective for site operations related queries/activities/risks to deliver safe, reliable and compliant operations.

Experience and job requirements

  • Understanding of reliability principles and methodologies with demonstrable experience in reliability systems and diagnostics.
  • Technical knowledge and experience in reliability, with a proven ability to demonstrate practical and applied knowledge of upstream and global operations and practices.
  • Significant experience in either an internal or external engineering role, or similar.
  • Experience on an operating site.
  • Advanced technical knowledge and experience in engineering, with sound knowledge of the relevant industry codes, standards and regulations and the ability to initiate guidance on the appropriate designs and systems to prevent, control and mitigate risks.
  • Sound stakeholder management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Performs Mechanical Engineering support to the Reliability Team to deliver solutions to equipment reliability, working closely with the Facility Support Squads and Site Engineer to resolve reliability issues.
  • Ensures asset Mechanical Engineering risks are understood, controlled and continuously reduced.
  • Monitors health of all static/rotating mechanical equipment and associated operating envelopes, recording and investigating all SDL/SOL excursions.
  • Monitors KPIs for static/rotating equipment, and initiates corrective actions as necessary.
  • Provides Mechanical Engineering support to technical MoCs and Engineering Queries (EQ).
  • May initiate Engineering Queries and provide feedback on EQ verification/prioritisation to site).
  • Supports delivery of the Production Efficiency Improvement and Defect Elimination process
  • Identifies production vulnerabilities and optimization opportunities to support production forecast and grow production.

Qualifications

  • Education Degree in Engineering or related discipline and/or equivalent relevant professional qualification.
  • Professional accreditation, e.g. Chartered Engineer (UK)

The Well Site Leader (WSL) has a key role in managing safety, people, and performance, at the well site. The WSL will report to the Well Superintendent and will:

  • Understand risk and verify control measures are reviewed, discussed, and in place.
  • Verify that well monitoring and well control procedures are understood and implemented.
  • Assess the performance of the enduring risk barriers through Self-Verification (SV) and Oversight (OS).
  • Foster and maintain a safety culture that allows others to speak up, stop-the-job, identify hazards, and manage change.
  • Maintain OS of contractor Safety Management System (SMS).
  • Verify that the well operations are performed safely, in compliance with the applicable regulations, and conform to Requirements.
  • Promote timely reporting of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) incidents.
  • Understand the capability of the team to execute the programme.
  • Provide support, coaching, direction, and build relationships through active participation and communication with the crew in the execution of work (i.e., the WSL is to have a visible presence outside).
  • Manage service contractors by providing service quality feedback.
  • Verify that a process is in place to brief new and returning crew members as they arrive on the installation and/or rig regarding their duties, expectations for HSE, and operational performance.
  • Demonstrate Values and behaviours by personal example that reinforces personal and process safety, continuous risk reduction, and performance improvement.
  • Daily supervision of operations programme execution and witness of critical activities.
  • Continuously monitor performance, collate lessons learned, and look for opportunities n.to enhance efficiency. Be prepared to take remedial actions.
  • Verify After Action Reviews (AARs) are held at the well site to capture any lessons learned.
  • Communicate clear performance expectations and ensure visibility of delivery versus the plan along with relevant Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) (e.g., Non-Productive Time [NPT]).
  • Accurately record daily time summary details in OpenWells reporting software, focus on the facts, and maintain oversight and control of cost (for contractors and third party).


Key Criteria:

  • Minimum 10-years Well Site Leader (drilling supervisor) experience including drilling and completion operations.
  • Ability to work offshore, North Sea UK inclusive of MIST, FOET, UK medical and CA EBS certification.
  • Current (IADC or IWCF) supervisor-level drilling well control certification for extent of employment contract.
  • The successful candidate will be required to undertake a Safety Critical Role competency assessment and agree a gap closure plan with their Well Superintendent.


Desirable Criteria:

  • Subsea drilling experience.
  • Offshore platform drilling experience.

Wells Solutions Fluids Laboratory provides specialist technical services to support drilling and completion operations across the globe and works with Innovation and Engineering (I&E) team to evaluate new products/tools which can improve efficiency.
The Lab Technician works in the laboratory to support all Regions by performing lab tests as required. Laboratory technician operates wide range of high-pressure high temperature equipment, rheometers and performs analytical testing. Lab Technician works with other engineers and team members from diverse backgrounds to understand project goals and design under the supervision of the Lab manager. The candidate has good technical and industry knowledge.
Responsibilities

  • Work in accordance with Our Code, values and the Well Solutions Guiding Principles of understanding risks.
  • Support the safe delivery of projects, including driving continuous improvement of local HSSE standards and procedures and especially within laboratories
  • Maintain good inventory of consumables and equipment in the labs. Keep a good record of calibration, inspection and maintenance of equipment and parts to ensure minimal down-time including high standards of housekeeping.
  • Performs fluids and formation damage STS project works with focus on providing technical support on fluids evaluations as needed to the various Regions.
  • Observing lab testing processes, conducting research, and finding ways to increase efficiency and quality.
  • Analyze test results and derive conclusions.
  • Write technical reports summarizing the results and observations and present it to the regional stakeholders.
  • Delivery laboratory projects as per SoW and in agreed timeline.
  • Complete COSHH of chemicals prior to using in the laboratory.
  • Maintain close contact with the Discipline Community of Practice.
  • Work closely with other sub-disciplines (Fluids, Cementing, Innovation and Engineering) in terms of providing laboratory and technical support.


Educational Requirements:

Outline:

The purpose of this role is to provide subject matter expertise in Naval Architecture, Structures and Coatings to Trading & Shipping teams and other areas of the company as applicable.

The key focus areas are to ensure that the operated fleet is structurally maintained according to Class and trading & shipping standards, and provide Structural Assurance to the Vetting & Clearance teams through structural reviews and inspections of the non-operated fleet.

The role will include planning and conducting structural and coating inspections on the fleet; completing structural reviews and inspections of third party vessels; supporting the update of T&S procedures, databases and standards; and carrying out miscellaneous technical support for any other naval architecture requests from T&S or the wider company.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Support the Naval Architecture manager with the upkeep of policies, procedures, inspection & maintenance routines, databases and HECSALV models; capturing and improving structural and coatings corporate knowledge (e.g. TKD's, MIIT incident investigation reports, GIS, VISS etc).
  • Provide structural and coatings support to the T&S operated fleet by assisting with the planning, budgeting and execution of maintenance, modifications, surveys and technical investigations. Whilst ensuring compliance with all relevant procedures and standards.
  • Perform structural reviews and inspections of third-party vessels in support of the Vetting & Clearance team and wider company. Uphold and develop structural policies, Condition Assessment Programme (CAP), industry standards & guidelines and engineering best practice.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with Classification Societies, CAP providers, 3rd party industry bodies, professional bodies and the company's internal engineering bodies.

Essential Education:

  • Degree in Naval Architecture (eg. BEng, MSc, MEng)
  • Member of professional body, e.g. RINA, SNAME.

Essential Experience /Job Requirements

  • Marine technical experience in shipping or ship construction/repair yards

Role Synopsis

An Electrical Engineer is required to join the Offshore East Engineering Team to support projects in Azerbaijan. The role will be working on the client side, and will be primarily based in the contractor's office in Surrey.

The Lead Electrical Engineer will oversee all aspects of Electrical Engineering Specification, Design and Implementation.

The Lead Electrical Engineer will be responsible for providing assurance of the EPC Contractor Electrical Engineering deliverables, during the Optimise, Define and Execute Phases of Projects.

The position will provide technical guidance and assurance to the Project, ensuring safe, consistent and cost effective application of Project and regulatory codes and standards and good engineering practice.

The role requires the successful candidate to:

  • Maintain a working knowledge of all relevant codes, standards, and regulations that pertain to the design of Electrical Systems included on the facility.
  • Consults Electrical ETA on technical issues and ensures ETA remains aligned with proposed designs.
  • Provide technical input to risk assessments, Management of Change reviews, and project reviews
  • Evaluate requests for deviations or exemptions to the established specifications and standards

Key Accountabilities:

  • Assurance of Contractor key deliverables in terms of quality and compliance with BoD.
  • Single point of contact for the Electrical discipline.
  • Assuring compliance with the relevant Project specifications and ETPs. Input to the Project Codes and Standards BOD.
  • Oversight of performance of contractor against agreed scope, manpower and schedule for discipline scope.
  • Own and drive completion of specific multi discipline areas, including ensuring input from other disciplines as required.
  • Input to key decisions (all disciplines), with ownership of all Electrical related decisions.
  • Responsible for input to the preparation of electrical procurement - specifications, quality assurance, criticality ratings and performance management of the contractor.
  • Accountable for ensuring issues and the discipline scope is managed, ahead of formal project reviews such as PHSSERs.

Essential Education

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Chartered or Professional Engineer status.

Our client has an exciting opening for a Senior Piping Engineer on a contract basis within the Central Engineering Department at the Aberdeen office. Operating in a technical, challenging and diverse environment the role will involve working with various diverse engineering projects.

The role will be responsible for supporting work on tenders, studies, live projects and Research and Development Initiatives.

We welcome applicants from a range of sectors including subsea equipment providers, nuclear and power, HP Drilling and Military Design industries.

Specific Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Plan, detail and review technical documentation relating to subsea piping and mechanical systems' construction and installation.
  • Design and detailing in accordance with acknowledged industry Codes, Standards and Design Guides, Client Specifications and Scopes of Work.
  • Production and checking of design documentation including feasibility reports, detailed design reports, construction drawings, design specifications, material take-offs, weight control calculations, etc.
  • Provide input to, check and approve manifold pipe work general arrangement and isometric drawings.

  • An extensive subsea piping & mechanical track record in coordinating manifold / subsea/ towhead piping design teams (multi inter-disciple engineering/ extensive multi-component MTOs/ procurement & vendor selection support) as an integral part of a large project team.
  • Integration & detailed/ expert engineering knowledge of subsea piping HPHT subsea systems/ piping connection systems/ cold flow/ subsea factory/ pumps/ compressors/ separators/ subsea electrical integration/ flow-meters/ valves etc.
  • Detailed/ expert engineering knowledge of all the major subsea equipment suppliers & integrating components together from multiple suppliers
  • Key Specific engineering expertise & vendor knowledge of the piping components - various forgings/ connectors/ flanges/ pulled bends/ small & large bore valves/ fittings/ seals & gaskets - supplied to the subsea Oil & Gas market
  • Extensive experience in the modular layouts/ pipe stress analysis and valve specification requirements for subsea piping towhead/ manifold systems.
  • Chartered or approaching Chartered Engineer status.
  • A positive attitude to developing engineering experience across diverse engineering projects within the global organisation.
  • Engineering knowledge of single bore & multi-bore hub connectors & associated subsea tie-in systems (flow-lines/ risers etc.) within the market
  • Take full responsibility for datasheets/ specifications/ scope of work for piping components
  • Extensive & in-depth knowledge of all subsea codes/ specs/ standards
  • Awareness & engineering knowledge of subsea mechanical equipment which is being developed
  • Suitable skills & understanding of the cost / schedule of all the major piping components for contributing to FEEDs/ projects etc.
  • Bring knowledge & expertise to all the engineering/ cost reduction initiatives within the subsea Oil & Gas sector
  • Knowledge of piping caisson design would be advantageous

Specified Qualifications for position:

  • Degree educated (BEng/ MEng/ Phd) in relevant engineering discipline is desirable but consideration will be given to those with extensive proven experience within a similar role

Skills:

  • Manage interfaces within a project structure, including other disciplines, drawing office, document control, project management, client and suppliers is essential
  • Experience in the use of CAESAR or similar software

Drilling & Completions Wellsite Leader (WSL)
The Wellsite Leader (WSL) is accountable for leading all activities, HSSE, operations, and logistics at the well site for all related well construction activities (drilling and completion), with the goal of meeting or exceeding performance metrics.
The WSL is the site representative for Wells organisation and will lead Wells and Contractor Personnel to assure that well operations, which are under their control are carried out in a manner that adheres to Values and Behaviours, is conformant with the requirements of OMS, practices and procedures and is compliant with local government regulations.
The WSL is a safety critical role due to the impact of the decisions they make on operations.
While working at the rigsite, the WSL is embedded in the operations team and accountable for supporting planning and execution activities for well construction activities (drilling and completion), workover and intervention activities.
Education: Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
Desirable Education: Degree in a qualified in engineering, science, or technical discipline;
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels to be able to effectively project manage multi-disciplinary scopes of work.
Valid Supervisory Well Control Certificates for both drilling (subsea and surface) and well servicing. (WellSharp or IWCF L4)
BOSIET or HUET training.
The WSL will need to cultivate relationships with Engineering Teams, contractors and well service personnel in the field.
Other key relationships include Well planning service providers, Wells Operations team, Logistics for supplies and personnel, the New Well Delivery team, the Resource team, Drilling Engineering, Completions Engineering, Interventions, and Integrity teams.

Petroplan are assisting a client of ours with their search for a Marine Specialist to join their offices in Surrey on a long-term contract. The client is a major consultancy within the energy market. As Marine Specialist, you will support the Civil and Marine manager.

As such we are recruiting for a Marine Specialist who will be providing PMC oversight and guidance service to ADNOC for the FEED of a greenfield LNG production facility in the Middle East. The key responsibility is to is to interface with ADNOC management and SMEs, interface with FEED contractor(s), provide direction and expert knowledge.

The role will be based in England reporting to the Marine Manager as such candidates are required to have right to work in the UK.

Core Competencies/Requirements:

  • Minimum BSc Civil Engineering, or equivalent
