Overview


We are seeking a Downstream Process Engineer with experience in Aromatics processes (Pyrolysis gasoline treatment, BTX separation, Toluene disproportionation unit, etc) to join our Global Manufacturing Excellence organization under the Downstream Global Manufacturing Support Department (GMSD).
GMSD's technical team is a multi-disciplinary team responsible for providing the required high-quality technical support to GM operating facilities (Refineries, NGLF, and petrochemical plants) inside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia & across the globe.
Your primary role is to provide process engineering and operations expertise to monitor, optimize, and drive performance improvement programs for Aromatics processes, including remote and field technical advisory support, benchmarking, and Aromatics technology knowledge management and exchange. You will drive the performance improvement programs which enhance process safety, optimize manufacturing cost, and increase plant reliability.

Key Responsibilities


As the successful candidate, you will be required to perform the following:

  • Review and monitor the performances of existing Aromatics facilities through key performance indicators (KPIs) representing the process plant's optimum operability, profitability, reliability, and process safety.
  • Issue quarterly Aromatics performance benchmarking reports highlighting the KPIs, analysis, and performance improvement recommendations.
  • Monitor and support the facilities in implementing the recommendations and closing the gaps identified in the quarterly performance benchmarking reports.
  • Provide on-demand remote and/or field technical advisory support to Global Manufacturing facilities on matters concerning the operation of Aromatics plants which may include but not limited to process troubleshooting, start-up and shutdown activities, capacity test runs, technology pilot testing, and process design. Issue service report for every support activity provided highlighting the facilities need, actions taken, results, and lessons learned.
  • In collaboration with Global Manufacturing facilities engineers, propose cost optimization or process improvement initiatives focusing on 'low-hanging fruits' with no or minimal capital investment required, through operational adjustment or design modification.
  • Act as the overall coordinator for cascading and driving Global Manufacturing and Corporate programs to the Aromatics operating facilities for execution and effective monitoring.
  • Participate in Business Plan development and coordinate with stakeholders for any capital investments on assigned process units and support techno-economic evaluations.
  • Maintain relevant knowledge of technology developments in Aromatics process plants. Perform evaluation and approval of technology developments to Central Engineering and facilitate field deployment.
  • Support arrangement and facilitation of technical knowledge exchange workshops with Aromatics process technology licensors and Global Manufacturing facilities.
  • Participate in hazard operability (HAZOP) and safety integrity level (SIL) studies as required by Aromatics unit operating facilities.

Minimum Requirements

  • You must hold a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related specialization. An advanced degree is preferred.
  • You should have a minimum of 15 years experience within a refinery or petrochemical process unit (process engineering and operations) with at least 10 years' experience in handling Aromatics plants.
  • Exposure to different Aromatics process licensor technologies is preferred.

Overview

We are seeking a Corrosion Engineer to join our Global Manufacturing Organization (GM) under Technical Support team.

The technical support team is a multi-disciplinary organization with interface to technical, and in some cases business, support requirements for our Global Manufacturing Admin Area. Its function caters mainly to the technical needs of GM Operating facilities.

Your primary role will be to provide technical support to operating facilities, projects, technology deployment, and talent development of new corrosion engineers. You will also conduct special studies and analysis in a specialized corrosion control field, such as cathodic protection, water treatment, chemical inhibition or materials selection. Additionally, you will provide specialized technical corrosion control services and consultation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement corrosion management program and on-stream monitoring.
  • Troubleshoot and provide technical support for running HC facilities
  • Conduct risk-based inspection based on API-580 methodology.
  • Review and approve recommended solutions for coating failures and cathodic protection.
  • Participate in HAZOP review sessions and ensure that all issues are addressed.
  • Manage water treatment program and recommend solutions to overcome challenges.
  • Review design packages and validate materials selection based on current code and standards.
  • Validate corrosion controls, corrosion loops and corrosion damage mechanisms frequently.
  • Assess feed composition changes and approve recommend solution to assure assets integrity.
  • Develop scope and description of technology items, and lead field implementation.
  • Develop and transfer knowledge about use of coating, CP, corrosion inhibitors and other corrosion controls and best practices.

Minimum Requirements

As the successful candidate you must hold a Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably in mechanical engineer.

You should have a minimum of 12 years' experience, with a strong preference for 15 years' plus, in processing in Oil/Gas industry, material science and metrology, different NDT technology and their applications and knowledge in engineering aspect of welding.

Knowledge of the international standards and codes NACE, ASME, API and ASTM especially inspection and corrosion standards such as API-571, API-580, API-570 and API-510 is required.

You should hold a valid NACE Specialist Certification or NACE Senior Corrosion Technologist or combination of NACE Corrosion Technologist, API-571 and NACE CP level II.

We are currently supporting a major international EPC in their search for an experienced subcontracts manager to join them on a permanent basis in Saudi Arabia.

This is an office-based role in their Al Khobar offices and is an exciting opportunity to be involved with some of the most high profile projects in the industry.

The Project Subcontracts Manager will manage the construction activities of the Subcontractor, as well as ensuring compliance with the requirements set by the Construction Manager of the Project.

Ideally a successful candidate would have over 10 years of experience in a similar position and would be bilingual in English and Spanish.

Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the Construction Subcontracts Engineers, ensuring application of the corporate and project procedures.
  • Establish the final Subcontracting Plan and Subcontractors Analysis.
  • Coordinate the work with the Cost Control Engineer, Planning Engineer and Quantity Control Engineers, as well as with the other Departments of all other areas involved in the execution of the Project.
  • Study all the works to be subcontracted, knowing the scopes, deadlines and budgets.
  • Revise the RFQ and Bid Bulletins.
  • Analyse the tabulations and evaluations of the bids received.
  • Negotiate with Subcontractors.
  • Present to the Project Manager the documentation associated to the Award Proposal ("White Paper" and PdA).
  • Assist, when required, along with the Home Office Construction Manager, to the award committees.
  • Responsible of the preparation and sending of the Subcontract to the awarded, complying with the required internal signatures and ensuring the contractual documents be filed, both physically and electronically once completed all signatures.
  • Coordinate with Construction Area the actual progress of the Project and apply it to the Subcontracting Activities.
  • Responsible of the Awarding Phase as well as the Administration Phase, from the beginning until the end of the Project.
  • Coordinate and motivate all the collaborators to obtain the maximum performance within a harmonious working environment.
  • Know and properly implement formats and procedures established for the Project.
  • Maintain the necessary conditions to ensure the confidentiality of the documentation and information and communicate the Subcontracts Department Manager of the deficiencies found.
  • Propose suggestions to the Subcontracts Department Manager regarding methodologies, alternative procedures and new tools to improve the work performance.

  • Responsible for the application of the Environment, Safety and Health Rules and Regulations during the works performed in the area transferred to his authority. In particular Work Permit System
  • In close collaboration with the Client, the Commissioning Manager identifies the Systems that must receive special treatment, such as chemical cleaning, steam cleaning, drying, etc. and checks the acceptance criteria (defined by Client).
  • He/She prepares detailed instructions for Precommissioning, Commissioning and Start up, and all pertinent manuals in co-ordination with the Vendors Assistance, the Site Manager and the CLIENT. He/She shall consider detailed requirements by Contract specifications, and advise to the Site Manager on each of these stages (and its requirements).
  • To ensure that the Vendors Representative and their specialists carry out the required work within the Contractual requirements and on the shortest time possible.
  • Co-ordinate and control all the activities of Precommissioning and Commissioning supported by the Construction Supervision team. Direct Workforce shall be granted by the Subcontractors.
  • To perform periodically reports on the progress of the Precommissioning, and Commissioning.
  • To attend co-ordination meetings with the Subcontractors and Vendors to deal with any matter referring to Pre-commissioning and Commissioning stages, as required.
  • To accept and sign Mechanical Completion Acceptance Certificates -by Operation Systems Units or the general Plant- for the Turn Over from the construction to commissioning. He/She will prepare all the concerning certificates at the end of the Pre-commissioning, Commissioning and Start-up, and all performance tests to be signed by the Client.
  • If by Contract, the Pre-commissioning and Commissioning were the Clients responsibility, deliveries to be prepared by the Commissioning Manager will be according with the Contractual requirements for this advising position, if existing.
  • Responsible for organizing with Client the walkthrough planning and the Punch List (PL) generation.
  • Supervision of punch list items for its closure by the Construction and/ or Commissioning Team.

Petroplan is seeking to hire Control Systems Engineer for one of its clients

Job Requirements
Hold Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical, Automation or Controls Engineering and should have a Minimum of 18 to 20 years of professional engineering experience effectively performing similar roles and responsibilities, preferably in oil and gas facility
Have Advanced working knowledge of Siemens PLC systems: Simatic S7 400, F & FH systems, S7 1200, S7 1500 and Practical experience with Industrial Communication via Profibus, Profinet, Modbus, Ethernet networks
Ability Expertise in the field of operational concepts, DCS /ESD / SCADA specifications and Hands on work experience with SCADA, DCS, ESD and F&G systems
Knowledge and work experience with Siemens PCS7 and Client-Server architectures, Historians, and knowledge of VMWare
Knowledge of Industrial codes and standards - DIN/ASME / API / ANSI / NEMA / NPFA / ATEX etc.
Electrical wiring in low voltage cabinets, ability to develop engineering and wiring schematics, loop diagrams and power distribution for automation systems
Able to prioritize tasks and to manage workloads in an effective manner with minimal direct supervision and flexibility in managing multiple and diverse tasks
Communicate what are frequently complex technical, economic and commercial concepts in a clear and succinct manner, to individuals and groups from diverse professional backgrounds and demonstrate the ability to work with multidisciplinary teams producing reports, studies, and presentations that are pivotal in shaping managements decisions

Oil Productioin Engineer

Petroplan is seeking to hire Oil Production Engineer for one of its clients

Job Summary
The Oil Production Engineer is required to handle the complexity and work-related activities related to oil producers (both natural flow and ESP wells), water injection, water supply and water disposal wells starting from monitoring the drilling operations, completion design, flowback/testing operations, chemical treatments, logging, and integrity assurance to performance remedial work for production enhancement. Addition to the oil and water wells, you will be involved in monitoring gas wells.

Job Requirements
Should have a Bachelor's degree in Pet Engineering. MS or PhD is desirable, but not required; intensive industry training including appropriate specialized courses and seminars is expected
Must have at least 18-20 years of related experience, including 5 years intensive experience in oil production specialty. Also, should have experience working in oil fields with 15% H2S concentration, onshore and offshore environment, and smart well completions.
Must have ability to provide technical support for well operations, including all aspects of well intervention, well stimulation, well testing, well integrity and application of state-of-the-art technologies
Should be active in related professional societies and will have achieved professional recognition through publications, committee activities, etc.
