We are seeking an Experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a globally scaled Engineering and Technology business in their Houston office. This company have been operating for decades as a market leader in a diverse array of Engineering and Technology sectors and are building a clean energy focused division in the US to expand their reach, particularly within the Hydrogen space.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Have knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and practices and be able to apply that knowledge make independent decisions on a broad range of engineering problems
  • Independently evaluate, select, and apply standard and advanced engineering techniques, procedures and criteria and use judgement to make decisions to provide engineering solutions to problems. The Mechanical engineer will receive technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and supervisory approval on proposed plans for projects.
  • Have work reviewed to ensure sound profession judgment has been employed and participate in the review of others work to ensure the quality of that work
  • Perform mechanical engineering work including, but not limited to, requirements generation and definition, hardware conceptual/embodiment/detailed design and test, assembly/fabrication, hardware acceptance and qualification test support.
  • Receive instructions on specific assignment objectives, complex features, and possible solutions and work with limited to minimal supervision.

Job Requirements:

  • 5 years' experience as a Mechanical Engineer within Petrochemical, LNG, Hydrogen, Ammonia or adjacent industry.
  • Engineering Degree
  • Valid P.E. License

Senior Process Engineer - Hydrogen Production

Position Summary

The Senior Process Engineer based in Houston is responsible for applying advanced process techniques, analyses, and practices towards high-quality customer solutions. This position requires collaboration with a dynamic, cross-functional, team to execute a variety of Process deliverables. As a leader within this technical discipline, this position is also expected to mentor less experienced process engineers and promote innovative thinking and problem solving.

Primary Duties

  • Assist in defining process engineering project execution strategies, along with Process Engineering Manager.
  • Coordination with Applications & Proposals to develop Process Design Basis'.
  • Develop complex process simulation models using standard simulation programs (HYSYS and/or Promax) for use in process design and development of deliverables.
  • Validate performance of new compositions in standard offerings and identify customized changes or adders for potential customers.
  • Conduct process design of equipment, including vessels, columns, heat exchangers and package process specifications for equipment and control valves.
  • Develop process engineering deliverables (and aid in the development of inter-discipline deliverables) like PFD's, Heat and Material Balances, P&ID's, Equipment Datasheets, Utility Summaries and other process deliverables required for the project.
  • Participate in informal studies and technical briefings with clients, suppliers and other departments/disciplines.
  • Participate in technical reviews and bid tabbing.
  • Prepare conceptual studies, designs, reports or proposals.
  • Identify issues (problems, value improvement opportunities) and help clarify areas of complexity during all phases of the engineering design work.
  • Help with defining training documents for field services.
  • Assist with Field Start-up and troubleshooting of facilities from office or site.
  • Troubleshoot client's processes related to the technology.
  • Mentor less experienced engineers and promote innovative thinking and problem solving.

Secondary Duties

  • Develop Cause & Effects and Control Loop descriptions for project execution.
  • Prepare process modifications and implement new products and processes that are in-line with the company objective.
  • Review/approval of process engineering deliverables including PFD's, Heat and Material Balances, Equipment Datasheets, Utility Summaries and other process deliverables required for the project, as needed / assigned.
  • Actively pursue and participate in improving current technologies and identifying new technologies
  • Develop and implement options for asset optimization (debottlenecking, capacity improvement, and improvement of execution efficiency within the discipline)
  • Write technical papers to promote solutions and presenting at conferences
  • Technically support proposals and marketing by developing technical data presented in proposals and aiding in cost analysis.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills

  • Must be self-directed and able to perform duties with little or no supervision.
  • Expertise in Process Engineering - Cryogenics, Dewpoint, Fractionation, and FEED/FEL design.
  • Practical knowledge of plant operations.
  • Hands on field experience in commissioning, start-up and performance tests.
  • Knowledge of Process Safety design concepts and documentation requirements.
  • Command of general chemical engineering principles and calculations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams, external clients, and management.
  • Command of general chemical engineering principles and calculations.
  • Collaboratively works across functions and involves others in solving problems.
  • Intimate working knowledge of industrial and regulatory standards.
  • Involvement and knowledge of HAZOP/HAZID/LOPA/SIL safety reviews.
  • Experience with complex modelling in HYSYS and/or ProMax
  • Develop creative solutions to support best cost options while driving successful budget execution.
  • Understand and adhere to all policies, procedures, and guidelines pertaining to safety, health and environmental emphasizing this perspective in their own work and in the work of others.
  • Strive to continuously improve and apply personal knowledge and skills to effectively perform role.
  • Use fact-based, structured decision-making process to initiate and support appropriate actions.
  • Effectively exchange information, instructions and ideas within own work group and with other cross-functional groups.

Position Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering. PE registration is a plus.
  • Experience: 7 years of experience in Oil & Gas Industry in process engineering.

Electrical Design Engineer

Texas Based General Contractor focusing on Distributed Generation Solar PV projects throughout the country is looking to add a Design Engineer to their Solar Construction Team. As an Electrical Design Engineer will serve as a technical lead solar design engineer. You will perform advanced engineering techniques and analyses for problems and methods. You will be responsible for the overall execution and quality of solar projects as a leader within a team environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Process Interconnection application requests (for both Solar and/or BESS systems)
* Complete conceptual design layouts for proof of concept to support generation capacity given land constraints.
* Perform impedance calculations to support PSSE models for the respective ISOs/RTO s.
* Create one line designs.
* Populate technical sections/appendixes for interconnection applications.
* Detailed conceptual layouts
* Layouts for interconnection applications.
* Electrical design for reactive power support, choosing applicable inverter/module technology, etc.
* Identify any potential land concerns (steep terrain, wetlands, flood zones, protected animal species, etc.).
* 10% Design packages
* Includes layout, studies/calculations to confirm equipment sizing/project performance.
* Substation package.

Preferred Qualifications:
* 3 year of Solar experience.
* Advanced knowledge of engineering design principles and applicable design guides and standards related to assigned engineering discipline.
* Professional Engineer License (PE)

Minimum Qualifications
* Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering
* 3 years related work experience.
