Role and Responsibilities

  • Writing scalable, testable, and efficient code.

  • Developing - Server-side logic and platform, statistical learning models, extremely responsive web apps, backend components to improve performance and responsiveness.
  • Designing and implementing features for data protection and security, high availability, and low latency applications.
  • Application automation and performance optimization.
  • You've worked as a Python developer before.
  • Knowledge of Python frameworks like Django, Flask, or others
  • Knowledge of front-end technologies including HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.


Experience and Qualifications

  • Experience in energy industry.
  • Has experience in Django-based user interface design.
  • Experience working on AI/ML projects, especially in terms of optimizing and choosing models that match business requirements in terms of the patterns to be used to achieve the desired result.
  • A thorough understanding of database technologies like Oracle and SQL.
  • Solid familiarity with UNIX/Linux environments.
  • Good understanding of and experience with HTML and CSS.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science, or any other relevant job experience.

Has experience on CI/CD pipeline setup with Jenkins, SonarQube, Git

Main Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the negotiation and completion of a specific set of contracts related to the Construction Services.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop Project Quality plan and Quality Control Procedures.

  • Ensure the implementation of the Project Quality Plan for the EPC / FEED Contract.

  • Issuing Audit Reports, monitoring and administering the closure of actions.
  • Witnessing Quality Audits conducted by the EPC / FEED Contractor.
  • Detecting, identifying and recording quality problems and accordingly issuing Project Non-Conformity Reports (NCR) and Observations to Project Management and the EPC / FEED Contractor.
  • Ensure EPC / FEED Contractors' QA/QC personnel are appropriately qualified.
  • Carry out review and approval of EPC / FEED Contractors' and their nominated
  • Ensure calibration system for inspection, measurement and test measuring equipment is in accordance with EPC / FEED Contract requirements.
  • Review and approve the Inspection and Test Plan and witness major activities.
  • Participating in reviewing the Project Execution Plan (PEP) prepared by EPC / FEED Contractor and ensuring that it addresses the applicable quality requirements to fulfil the overall Project requirements. The Project Execution Plan shall include all applicable forms that are needed to track and follow-up the Project requirements i.e. transmittal logs, control sheets, reports, inspection forms, follow up logs and NCR logs.
  • Ensure that the quality systems of Vendors and Sub-vendors is evaluated by EPC / FEED Contractor and complies with the Project Quality standards.
  • Ensure the auditing of quality system of Vendors and Sub-vendors, by EPC / FEED Contractor, as applicable.
  • Ensure that corrective and preventive actions raised under NCR's are implemented to address the root cause (as applicable) and to prevent recurrence.
  • Follow-up NCRs until close-out.
  • Develop the structure and requirements to be addressed in the monthly quality report to be issued by EPC / FEED Contractor.
  • Ensure that a proper system for QA/QC records is established and maintained by the EPC / FEED Contractor.


Requirements:

  • Minimum 7-years' experience in a similar role and managing solar projects
  • Managed quality system in large project
  • Experienced manager able to direct a team, and others that do not report directly.
  • Experience and understanding of quality issues within construction. Main focus to be quality but knowledge of environmental and health & safety issues would be beneficial.
  • Have a good knowledge of solar project construction processes and standards.
  • Must be able to evaluate information to assess compliance with requirements and identify improvement opportunities.

Petroplan are pleased to be working alongside a European Developer, who are seeking proactive Project Developers to join their team in London.

The ideal candidate will need to possess an understanding of the permitting process (wind, solar, storage), interconnection, land and market frameworks involved in ensuring successful projects.

They will need to act independently to manage and advance complex projects and achieve development and permitting milestones from greenfield prospecting to construction-ready status.

Main Responsibilities:

  • You will be responsible for development, supervision, and drive of our renewable energy projects in the UK and the Republic of Ireland.
  • You will need to have some understanding of financial models in order to appreciate the key drivers of value in our projects.
  • You will need to be set up and monitor development budgets for individual projects and track payments to suppliers and advisors.
  • You will need to have a basic understanding of key legal documents, such as land option and lease agreements, in order to assist with landowner interactions.
  • You must be able to pay attention to detail, to ensure accuracy in tasks, such as organising data rooms.
  • To be successful, you will need to interact with other stakeholders, such as engineering designers, lawyers, and planning consultants in order to complete your project development tasks.
  • You will need to travel to project locations to meet with landowners, agents, developers, consultants and permitting officials.
  • You will work together with our International Development Department, report back to our central office in LONDON.
  • Business Development: support team with development in the area.
  • Permitting: review planning documentation in respect of new projects as part of the due diligence exercise, as well as existing projects to ensure on going compliance with planning conditions; co-ordinate with planning consultants to discharge planning conditions and submit variations, where necessary.
  • Interconnection: assist the grid team with planning and land related issues in respect of grid connection assets (such as ensuring legal consents are obtained for cables and substations in a timely fashion); review connection offers and interact with consultants and contractors on key project issues as part of the development team.
  • Land: review primary land documents (options, leases, easements etc.) as part of the due diligence exercise on new projects and supervise existing projects to ensure timely compliance with terms of land option agreements through co-ordination with lawyers and agents.
  • Regulatory: actively participate in regulatory processes and coordinate with the regulatory team to stay abreast with market changes and regulatory concerns which could positively or negatively impact projects.
  • Internal Coordination: Interface with engineering, legal, finance, procurement, construction, energy marketing and executive team members to accurately define and mitigate project risks and provide concise updates on project status.


Requirements:

  • Excellent writing skills are a must along with the ability to edit and proofread finished work product prepared by others.
  • Must be a self-starter, resourceful, and have the ability to work productively on multiple projects simultaneously under strict deadlines.
  • 2 to 4 years of proven energy project permitting/development experience.
  • Knowledge of project development process and solar/wind/storage project budgets.
  • Ability to travel (Initially, possibly 1/2 days per week).
  • Project management including scoping projects, estimating costs, and creating schedule and budgets using management software such as excel, MS Project.
  • Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project)
  • Preferred, experience with GIS software.
  • Preferred, experience with land acquisition.

Petroplan are pleased to be recruiting for a Financial Director to join an ambitious Renewables Development business in the UK.

Reporting into the Group CFO, the Financial Director will support the UK team in managing the corporate governance structure in the UK (being director of the board of the UK subsidiaries along with the UK CEO), and will be directly responsible for the set-up and day-to-day management of the financial processes, procedures, and systems (accounting, compliance, tax and VAT, treasury, planning, reporting, budgeting, cash managements, investment and divestment analysis, HR, insurances, etc) for the entities of the Group operating in the UK. The position shall set-up and manage its own team over the years.

Reporting to the UK CEO for the UK-related activities, and functionally to the group CFO based in EU for the implementation of the best practice reporting, procedures and policies, and support the business managing risk and compliance, within the Group international standards.

The FD will initially be expected to contribute approximately 30% of their time to the financial setup and management of entities operating in North America.

The FD shall develop UK processes with the intent of being used, under the guidelines of the Group CFO, as best practice for the Group standards. Though this is a UK position for the UK business, the prospect of career could be in the Finance Functions in other countries or at group level.

The Successful Applicant

We are looking for a technically strong chartered accountant who has a hands-on approach, with experience in setting up and managing teams in start-ups, preferably with experience in large companies and/or auditing companies.
Culturally we are looking for an inquisitive Finance Director, who is willing to immediately step up to a director level position for the special purpose vehicles of the Company. The ability to understand the commercial implications and contribute to investment and divestment decisions, whilst overseeing all financial reporting and risk is critical.
Humility coupled with a good sense of humour is high up on our lists of character traits.

* Strong academic profile

o Design and set-up the financial modelling for new classes of projects in renewable energy assets, supporting the development team in exploring new business opportunities
o Periodical update the asset P&C dashboard

Asset Value
o Support the definition of target prices for the sale of assets and support the board decisions on sales
o Support the preparation of investment memorandum for asset sales
o Support the formal asset sale process, from invitation, onboarding, KYC, to bidding, to contract negotiations and closing
o Manage post-closing covenants, if any
o Prepare and constantly update the data rooms for asset management and sale, validating and auditing the process and contents
o Provide financial analysis on new acquisitions and support in the preparation of investment papers for committee

Global Group activities:
o Support coordination of financial and reporting processes for North America. This can include designing and engaging with the advisor to obtain accounting, tax and financial advices, support with assessing the process to list group shares into a regulated exchange. Implementation and design of compliance procedure to comply with Canadian regulations and support with the activities of the Board of Director. * Develop, advance and manage existing or new downstream solar projects including offtake, permitting, interconnection, land, community relations, stakeholder management and all related budgets;
* Lead development efforts for greenfield, co-development and project acquisitions within targeted markets/sectors;
* Manage cross-functional teams including legal, financial, project management and asset management resources to analyze and close transactions aligned with department goals;
* Prepare and negotiate agreements as JV-agreements, development agreements, shareholder agreements, etc.;
* Identify and develop partner relations with project developers, financial institutions, investors, contractors, lawyers, consultants, authorities, grid operators, advisors, manufacturers and other market participants to maintain a project pipeline;
* Manage all aspects of project development and acquisition including;
* Make sure the team can identify and secure suitable project sites, perform cost/feasibility analysis, pricing analysis, contract and concession agreement negotiations;
* Negotiate land leases and easements, managing landowner relationships and collaborating closely with internal support teams;
* Identify, manage and secure interconnection agreements while leading the overall interconnection strategy for a specific project or market area;
* Secure permits required by local, county, state and federal jurisdictions , and managing community relations;
* Obtain internal approvals to allow projects to advance, including preparing projects for Investment Committee approval and maintaining overall budget and schedule for project in compliance with approvals;
* Communicate regularly with senior leadership on the state of the renewable energy markets and present investment opportunities;
* Evaluate market drivers including new technologies, financial incentives, government/regulatory issues and business structures to continually grow the portfolio and maintain a competitive position in the industry;
* Represent the Company at solar fairs, events and regulatory meetings.

Senior Geotechnical Engineer

The Role

As the Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will be directly working offshore wind projects and provide geotechnical input in the design and consultancy work.

Responsibilities

Experience with geotechnical/geophysical data and geotechnical interpretative reports (GIR). Experience managing geological/geotechnical ground models is an advantage

Leading the work packages of geotechnical engineering on offshore wind project portfolio - from feasibility through to detailed design with diverse tasks such as geo survey specification, geotechnical interpretation and assistance in certification

Providing technical input on project deliverables related to geotechnical subject for OWF

Assisting/leading working groups for developing new geotechnical engineering delivery digital tools

Offshore foundation design experience (monopile, Jacket, GBS) and load iteration analysis

Support on issues related with cable burial and OWF construction

Knowledge on construction and installation methods of OWT/platform

Good understanding of advanced laboratory tests specification (e.g. Cyclic TX/Cyclic DSS, ring shear, resonant column tests)

Occasional work as offshore vessel representative as required

Support in proposals to secure additional geotechnical works

Experience/Qualifications

Structural/Geotechnical/Civil Engineering Degree, preferably with MSc

Chartered Member of ICE is preferable. Also accepted if currently working towards similar schemes

Worked on offshore wind development projects with input for geotechnical engineering in one or more of the foundation types such as Monopile, jacket, Suction base, or GBS

Good working knowledge of applicable regulations, codes of practice and standards, particularly for OWF and O&G projects

Piled foundation design experience is preferable, including familiarity with state-of-the art 3D FE design methods (PISA or equivalent)

Advanced level of understanding of geotechnical issues for OWF

Experience with proposals and CTR preparation

Senior or principal experience in geotechnical engineering

Petroplan are recruiting for a Grid Connection Manager to join a Developer client of ours currently developing a number of Wind, Solar and Battery Storage projects across the UK.

The role can be based remotely from anywhere in the UK. There will be expectation to travel across the UK where required and occasional visits to their London headquarters.

You will have previous grid/network experience across UK based utility scale projects and be a strong communicator, able to offer advice to internal development teams and communicate well with external providers and operators.

Contract Type: Permanent opportunity with annual bonus, shares and LTI in place plus benefits

Experience required:

  • Able to respond to any grid/network related queries
  • Support Development Team offering Technical and Design expertise
  • Able to work on and present formal grid connection applications
  • Power Modelling experience: PSSE / PSCAD / DigSilent or equivalent
  • Knowledge of GIS technology and working with the DNO and Land teams through Due Dilligence Processes.
  • 2 years prior experience across Utility Scale UK projects highly desirable. International exposure also well-thought of.
