Electrical Field Engineer

We are looking for an Electrical Field Engineer to join our team in Europe (either based in Belgium, Netherlands, or France.)

Role Description

As an Electrical Field Engineer you will be responsible for troubleshooting, repair, preventive maintenance, installation and some design of electrical equipment such as rotating machines, static systems and devices and supporting construction activities for plant improvement projects and commissioning activities for new plants and additions to existing production plants.

You will respond to any major occurrence of electrical breakdown, carry out prompt inspection, analyse the fault, repair and re-commission affected plant and equipment to assure the minimum loss of production and support plants with maintenance according to the Plant Maintenance programme. This could range from routine maintenance or major overhaul maintenance and will include working on maintenance shutdowns.

In the role of Electrical Field Engineer you supervise and/or perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, modification, installation and commissioning of electrical equipment in Global Operations production facilities; joint venture, and third-party facilities.

Job Tasks

  • Ensure that the work is adequately planned and executed safely at a high level of effectiveness when supervising contractors and/or company staff
  • Carry out plant modifications according to central design specification, submit any self-generated design changes to specialist engineers for approval before implementation. For some projects generate scope, cost and obtain Expenditure Approval and execute the work scope
  • Give advice and assistance to Plant Managers and their staff on maintenance matters as requested drawing, when necessary, upon the technical resources and expertise of specialist engineers
  • In association with the Maintenance Systems group, review and update the technical content of the preventive maintenance procedures and to recommend changes where improvements in safety, quality or economy may be affected

Qualifications/Experience

  • Completion of a Formal Electrical Apprenticeship, Tertiary Vocational Qualification to minimum MTS (Netherlands) / HNC (UK) or equivalent, supplemented by 5 years post apprenticeship experience in electrical distribution, equipment protection and controls
  • The ability to read electrical control drawings. High voltage and large motor experience is preferred
  • The ability to communicate in English, both spoken and written word as well as in Dutch or French or German
  • Familiarization with the electrical equipment in the facilities served. For example: induction and synchronous motors, protective relays, switchgear, starters, control systems, transformers, generators, and distribution systems

Job Title: Senior Civil & Structural Engineer (Client Side)

Type: Contract - 12 month renewable

Location: UK / Europe / Middle East

Overview:

Our client is currently at FEED stage on a project with a total Capex of around $10 billion. There are both Greenfield and Brownfield elements and multiple sub projects across Upstream, Midstream and Downstream Assets all of which are onshore.

On offer should be a long term contract that will renew annually with the intention being to retain the same engineer through the project lifecycle.

The client is a well known oil company with track record of delivering projects of this complexity and size. This position reports into the Engineering Manager and makes up part of a larger team that will be managing the subcontractors in delivering the project.

For visa purposes candidates with existing right to work in the UK / Europe will only be considered at this stage.

Requirements:

  • Experience within projects above a $1billion Capex budget
  • 15 years industry experience - 10 of which in a similar position
  • Extensive experience across FEED and EPC Stages of projects
  • Flexibility to work across UK/Europe/Middle East as required
  • Experience across Upstream/Mid/Downstream projects
  • Previous experience working on the client side and managing the delivery from subcontractors.
  • Track record of Onshore project delivery with a strong understanding of the Structural side

Project Operations Manager

Overview

The Project Operations Manager (POM) is accountable to the Project Manager for the safe and efficient execution of overall project operations, in accordance with planning constraints, associated cost envelope and project quality Requirements.

The POM is responsible for the co-ordination of the marine spread and onshore operations during the execution of Projects.

Responsibilities

  • Select the spread for the offshore operations: company construction vessels and 3rd-party chartered construction, support and transportation vessels. Define transportation philosophy
  • Define the scope of work (SOW) for each vessel and liaise closely with the VOM and OMT to ensure the defined scopes are optimised accordingly
  • Liaise with SCM Chartering Manager to ensure scopes for third party vessels are appropriate and where possible functional requirements are included in the Charter Party / Subcontract agreement
  • Support installation feasibility / support engineering for PHA reviews involving operational personnel (OMT) and Vessel Operations Managers (VOMs) prior to initiating the detailed installation engineering
  • Review and Comment the MDR for Operations and contribute to Installation engineering documents)
  • Engage as early as possible with the Pipeline Group and Installation Engineers to ensure installation of the products and that the installation methodology is in line with expectations for operability in particular with respect to waiting on weather
  • Support installation engineers when dealing with vessel changes, sequence changes and any other changes
  • Support engineering in identifying all tasks to be performed and in providing constraints between them
  • Review time estimates provide by engineering installation team (offshore tasks) and by the field engineers (vessel port calls)
  • Liaise with the Installation Engineers and the Pipeline Group (PG), oversee the development of installation procedures to ensure compliance with Contract and the various requirement identified in the Project reviews
  • Define SOW for Subcontractors / Vessel Owners and ensure requirements are properly and appropriately cascaded into the Subcontract / Charter agreements Monitor SCM selection of subcontractor's on operations related issues
  • Prepare the SIMOPS plan in conjunction with other stakeholders
  • Ultimately responsible for ensuring the readiness process for operations onshore and offshore and ensure timely approval to proceed
  • Responsible for the marine spread assurance including organising the supporting surveys and audits as required
  • Identify the key Operations deliverables and establish the platform to support an effective tender submission through development of the schedule, cost comparisons, vessel and personnel operational requirements to be compliant with client specifications and gap analysis

Qualifications/Experience

  • Experience in sub-sea construction is advantageous
  • Experience in offshore operations, having worked on board installation vessels and been deputy operations manager or project operations manager on a previous project
  • Skilled in the co-ordination of multiple interfaces across functions
  • Good work ethic, willing to work in changeable environments, meeting tight deadlines whilst delivering quality outcomes
  • Mobility to travel to all international locations for short business trips or missions
  • Fluent in English. Knowledge of French/Portuguese would be an advantage
  • Skilled in Microsoft Excel, Word and Project
