The work of the successful candidate involves providing the following services:
Accountable for Environmental leadership, functional expertise and coaching to Projects, Operations, Wells and Subsurface teams
-Delivery of clear environmental plans and direction
-Analyse performance and make recommendations for intervention and performance improvement
-Conduct internal environmental management system audits as lead auditor
-Provide technical and practical advise on environmental issues such as waste management, water consumption, industrial discharges and air emissions.
To led, supervise, coach and develop Algerian Environmental specialists to achieve sustainable environmental management in Algeria.
-Manage training and competency development
-Deliver training and awareness programmes
-Support sites in setting and implementation work programmes.
To administer the Central Environment team budget, long term environmental strategic plans and environmental management systems.
-Accountable for interpretation of ISO 14001 and shareholder environmental performance standards
-Advise on implementation of environmental legislation
-Develop environmental management system plans and procedures
Contract Accountable Manager for major Environmental contracts
-Accountable for technical evaluation of bids
-Managing contract scopes, budgets and resources for activities including ESIAs, compliance reviews, external ISO 14001 certification audits and environmental monitoring activities.
-Control the environmental work programmes by third-party contractors
KEY SKILLS & QUALICATIONS:
*Environmental University engineering or science degree with minimum of five years experience in a relevant field.
*Ability to organize effectively and set clear work objectives
*Proactive & motivated person who will identify and promote environmental improvements
*Work experience in an Environmental role, preferably one that includes line management responsibilities
*Work experience in implementing ISO 14001
*Work experience in delivering ESIAs
*Good understanding of oil and gas exploration and production and its environmental impacts
*Comprehensive working knowledge of IT tools
*Experience working on a rotational basis would be beneficial
*Experience working at operational oil and gas facilities would be highly beneficial
*Ability to communicate effectively and build relationships
*Lead Environmental Auditor skills
*Fit to work in the southern environment of Algeria
*Fit to travel regularly by plane
