Their Kelowna Office location is seeking a Full-Time Carpenter Foreman to support our growing and diverse operations.
Description:
Reporting to the Project Manager, the Carpenter Foreman will be responsible for managing a team of tradesmen and subcontractors working on Multi-Family Residential wood frame project.
Responsibilities:
- Follow blueprints and building plans to meet the needs of clients
- Install structures and fixtures, such as windows and molding
- Measure, cut, or shape wood, plastic, fiberglass, drywall, and other materials
- Construct building frameworks, including wall studs, floor joists, and doorframes
- Help put up, level, and install building framework with the aid of large pulleys and cranes
- Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures
- Instruct and direct laborers and other construction trade helpers
- Ensure selected trades conform to processes, budgets, and timelines for construction/improvement specific projects.
- Maintain a tidy and orderly work area exhibiting pride in work performance and contributing to a healthy and safe work environment.
- Ensure exceptional, courteous, and respectful customer service through compliance.
- Comply with and participate in the Company's Health & Safety and Quality programs and initiatives.
- Perform any other duties as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
- 3-5 years' experience working on residential/multi-family projects as a Carpenter and or Foreman is required.
- Red seal Carpenter or minimum 3rd year apprentice Carpenter is preferred.
- Valid Driver's license (no GDL) and valid current Driver's abstract is required.
- Safety experience and accreditation (NCSO or safety certificates) is preferred.
- Ability to lead by example, works well with others and mentor those around them.
- First Aid and CPR training an asset.
- Telehandler Ticket to operate an asset.
- Strong problem solving and decision-making skills, including the ability to exercise independent judgment.
- Strong time management, organizational, and prioritization skills, with attention to detail.
- Self-motivated and self-directed with a demonstrated ability to work with minimum supervision in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Professional, punctual, meticulous and diligent.
- Able to maintain a clean and orderly worksite at all times.
- Able to work collaboratively as a productive member of the Team.
- Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to read blue prints, shop drawings and specifications.
- Experience doing quantity take off, change orders and tender packages.
- Comfortable with multi-tasking, working as a team and working independently.
