Regulatory Technician

A client of ours, a large oil & gas organization is seeking a Regulatory Licensing Technician to facilitate, administer and regulate the licensing of all wells, pipelines and facilities for construction, maintenance and improvement projects. Licensing technicians are responsible for creating accurate and compliant public consultations, applications and supporting documentation to meet or exceed all regulatory requirements while ensuring these deliverables satisfy project deadlines.

This is a 12 Month Independant Contract.


  • Promote Compliance Assurance and Regulatory Advocacy
  • Understand and use Directive 056
  • Facilitate the submission of accurate and timely Well, Facility, and Pipeline Licenses
  • Prepare Notification Letters
  • Interpret PFD's and Plot Plans for submission compliance
  • Perform Manal 005 Self-Audits
  • Liaise with Engineering, Land, Construction, D&C, Tech Services, Environment, and ERP departments
  • Liaise with Government Regulatory agencies
  • Complete audit requests from Governing agencies

Must Have Requirements:

  • 5 years of experience in Oil & Gas Operations
  • 5 years of experience with Well, Facility, and/or Pipeline Licensing
  • 3 years of experience working with Regulatory Requirements in Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia
  • Strong understanding of governmental infrastructure and processes
  • Effective interpersonal communication and analytical problem solving skills
  • Must be detail-oriented with a strong ability to adhere to deadlines and regulatory requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively
  • High degree of initiative, self-motivation, and adaptability

Nice to Have:

  • Knowledge of DDS and/or One Stop software
  • Knowledge of APIAN and/or SAP
  • Oil & Gas related diploma or certificate
  • CAPPA or CAPLA designation
