Petroplan have partnered with an industry leader in the North American Oil & Gas market. The organisation are looking for an Analyst to join the team in Sarnia.

  • Interface daily with internal and external partners in order to meet the production and supply targets within the supply planning goals
  • Identify issues in Production or Supply which require resolution and work within the Planning team to resolve
  • Support operations by managing, optimizing and documenting all rail and truck shipment
  • Complete the daily refinery mass balance and work with Planning, Production and Accounting to identify and resolve yield discrepancies
  • Coordinate the effort between the production control group and process engineers to tackle mass balance closure
  • Complete the daily refinery mass and volumetric balance, track production by product and by unit and work with Planning, Production and Accounting to identify and resolve yield discrepancies (Honeywell PMM, PB, PT and SAP PAR)
  • Ensure that all refinery transactions (deliveries and receipts) are recorded in SAP
  • Reconcile the inventory in the SAP system with the physical inventory of the refinery
  • Calculate and track key performance indicators (AA, OA,RI, Solomon, etc.) on a monthly basis
  • Participate in internal and external audit SOX and manage all supporting documentation
  • Support continuous improvement through automation and comprehensive analysis and stewardship of refinery operation
  • Respond after hours to assist operations as required
  • Cross-train within the team of Production Coordinators for vacation coverage

    Must-haves (minimum requirements):
  • Post-secondary education, with Petrochemical, Finance, Sales, Marketing and/or Product Supply experience
  • Strong computer skills, with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with a continuous improvement mindset
  • A highly motivated self-starter, with a desire to learn new tools and processes (such as Honeywell Totalplant, Production Balance and SAP)

About the Opportunity:
We are currently seeking a highly professional Administrative Assistant to provide support to the Minnedosa Ethanol Plant (MEP) in Minnedosa, MB. Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Incumbent will provide administrative support and assist with maintaining the goals and objectives of the department.
The individual will be accountable and responsible for the execution of the administrative workload for all Operations personnel to ensure that ongoing reliability and functioning of the department is met.
The incumbent works independently to carry out most duties, uses experience and good judgment to make decisions and has a solid knowledge of the technical and work responsibilities of the department and the business unit objectives.
Work Environment
This is a full-time employee position working a shift of 5 on/2 off, Monday to Friday, 8-hour days (40-hour work week). This position is located at Minnedosa Ethanol Facility and relocation to the area is preferred.
Core Responsibilities
* Support the Manager, Minnedosa Ethanol Plant, by managing the manager's calendar and email, scheduling meetings, reviewing and processing expense reports, booking travel, and completing other tasks as required.
* Key communicator within the department ensuring information is distributed to employees utilizing Outlook, MS Teams, SharePoint, bulletin boards, etc. in a timely and effective manner. Coordinate plant newsletters and Town Halls.
* General department administration including: preparing and/or creating correspondence, reports and procedures; developing/updating spreadsheets; preparing presentations; responsible for employee training course registration, time administration, travel arrangements, accommodations, creating communication plans, scheduling meetings, making room / lunch arrangements, and managing mail and department filing/document management.

Senior Metallurgy Engineer

Job Overview: Metallurgy Engineer with strong technical and interpersonal skills, acting as a discipline Engineer in a Multimillion dollars portfolio of Sustainable projects . The successful candidate will be part of the Regional Technical Service organization; reporting to both The Reginal under the Business Unit Project Organization

Key Accountabilities:

  • Provide technical support and review welding-related documents, including Welding Procedure Specifications (WPSs), Procedure Qualification Records (PQRs), Welder Qualification Records for offsite and onsite fabrication. This includes structure / piping / pipeline / pressure vessels projects considering the applicable technical welding standards (CTS-0903, CTS-0220, CTS-0910, CTS-0909) and relevant CSA, ABSA, ERCB (EUB), CWB and ASME code requirements;
  • Provide technical supports on welding alloys and Corrosion Resistant Alloys;
  • Provide technical support related to material selection and metallurgy-related inquiries for the BUP projects in all stages, including vendor documentation review (e.g., problem definitions and project development, concept selection, DBM/FEED, detail design, etc.);
  • Analyze material test reports (MTRs) and NDTs and Inspection plans and provides recommendations;
  • Work closely with Fabrication / Constructor and clarify technical questions related to welding for compliance to Standards;
  • Promptly respond to BUP project technical deviations (TDNs) and requests for information (RFIs) related to materials, welding, and welding procedures;
  • Has a strong technical background in welding technologies and applications. Minimum of 5 years with proven welding experience;
  • Has field/plant operation support experience and understands the most common damage mechanisms in the Oil and Gas refineries and Upgraders to be able to propose practical, fit-for-purpose solutions to problems and understand the impact on operating assets;
  • Has good communication skills with other disciplines and project business personnel;
  • Has good organizational skills. The incumbent need to fill out and maintain the work request resolution log of , track the hours allocated to each project, and maintain a scorecard for the evaluation of the EPCs and Fabricators.
  • Regular site visits are not expected / required except on special occasions if necessary and justified by business needs (e.g., introduction to the team, etc.).

Required Qualifications: Must be an APEGA registered Professional Engineer.

Experience and Education:

  • Must be Metallurgy or Materials Engineer / or Mechanical Engineer with Master in Metallurgy / Materials Engineering
  • Must be a Candidate with 15 years of professional experience as a minimum .
  • Field experience in Maintenance and Reliability is highly desirable.
  • Oil gas experience is highly desirable.

DESCRIPTION:

The Dispatch Technician is responsible for the day-to-day execution of the fluid movement load plans within the Transportation & Logistics team servicing Heavy Oil and Gas operations. Movement of fluids takes place from the well tank location to either a disposal facility or battery (i.e. end destinations) to include emulsion, produced water, clean oil, and sour product.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Develop load plans for night and day shifts and verify plans with carriers and against facility capacities and availability (e.g. to balance and optimize). Use operations run sheets, specific computer software, and Excel to develop load plans.
* Coordinate the direction and utilization of disposal and facility capacity with production operations and carriers using procedures and guidelines
* Monitor inventories to obtain levels (%) which meets Transportation dept targets
* Collaborate with Supv. Transportation & Logistics as well as the Field Area Advisors to optimize and improve fluid movement processes, targets, and load plans. Create troubleshooting scenarios for ongoing analysis and review.
* Implement Logistics Emergency Response Procedure during accident or incident

MUST HAVE:
* Valid Driver's License
* A minimum of 2 years fluid hauling-related experience.

Field Sampling Technician

Field Sampling Technician - Oil & Gas
Location: Foster Creek
Schedule: 7 days on 7 days off. Thursday through Wednesday rotation. Fly in Fly out.

Role:
Perform sampling tasks throughout the plant site, field and off sites to support critical and core analysis for our operations, ensuring these samples are representative of the source. The Lab Sampling Technician will carry out routine and non-routine lab sampling of waters, sweet and sour gases and oils. The Lab Sampling Technician may also be required to maintain all Operations satellite labs by ensuring instruments are calibrated. They will also provide additional support by assisting in the lab with routine lab testing whenever their primary sampling tasks have been completed and/or laboratory workload is not able to be maintained due to lab technologist vacation/temporary vacancy.

Accountabilities / Responsibilities:

  • Support lab operation, safety and environmental systems
  • Support stake holders on projects, R&D and operations optimization
  • Troubleshoot plant process/sampling issues
  • Look for and lead efforts to improve processes and procedures as it relates to position
  • Carry out routine and non-routine lab sampling
  • Communicate with Operations on plant issues impacting sampling and safety
  • Ensure proper safety protocols are in place and in practice when performing duties
  • Identify issues that impact safety, environment and/or production


Key points:
You may be from a Trades background and want off the Tools, or you could be someone with a post-secondary at a college or Polytechnical level and are ready to enter the workforce.
Mechanical aptitude
This will be outside as much as 70% of the day so you must be comfortable with wearing a SBA for extended periods.

Sr. Project Controls Advisor

Position Title: Sr. Project Controls Advisor - Oil & Gas
Location: Calgary
Contract: Until Feb 2024
Schedule: 40 hour week. 2 days work from home, 3 days from the office.

Job Overview: Reporting to the Project Controls Manager, the Sr. Project Controls Advisor will provide support for all phases of the project and/or event lifecycle including, but not limited to, project set-up, estimating, funding, performance analysis & close-out. The Sr. Advisor will be a key member of the integrated project team whose primary objective will be the creation & maintenance of the WBS in SAP, issuing purchase requests, managing work order controls, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of month end accruals and financial project reporting, updating of project forecast entry in SAP, completing project financial close out and preparing progress and performance reporting. The Sr. Advisor will be proficient using SAP, Excel and other SAP visualization tools (like Power BI). The successful candidate will need to think critically, work under limited supervision, and provide timely & accurate information so that team members can make critical decisions quickly. This role will require candidates to confidently present data & work closely with the project controls manager and multiple stakeholder groups.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Support purchase requests with required backup, vendor quotes, and in alignment with supply chain management standards
  • Provide detailed reporting on funding progress, trending and forecasting (completion dates, changes in funding, concerns)
  • Prepare and maintain monthly progress reporting
  • Prepare preliminary monthly reporting on incurred cost and schedule forecast for Project (and/or) execution Manager's review and approval
  • Build and maintain the project work cost structures, and the project network and activities in SAP
  • Enter forecast into SAP by assigned deadline
  • Collect and provide details for month end journal entries to align with finance standards and timelines
  • Prepare, consolidate and analyze individual project or program reports for all stakeholders
  • Be knowledgeable of and adhere to all finance policies, ensuring that spending is in line with capital and/or expense guidelines
  • Support and drive the closure of purchase orders, project/event phases and SAP tasks for the project
  • Support in building the long range plans and budgets to develop a full understanding of the planned spending
  • Protect the integrity of the investment decision by understanding the project/event scope and bring forward deviations as required"


Required Qualifications:

  • SAP skills and SAP visualization (Knowledge in SAP Project system an asset)
  • Intermediate knowledge of work orders, estimating cost (I.e. Work cost structure creation, management, and strategy)
  • Intermediate Proficiency in computer skills including, but not limited to, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Business intelligence
  • Intermediate ability to manipulate large amounts of data and perform complex functions within Access or Excel
  • Intermediate knowledge of progress and performance
  • Demonstrated conceptual, analytical, and problem solving skills towards the generation of solutions and sound decisions

MAINTENANCE ENGINEER - EIT

The maintenance engineer reports to the Lead Reliability Engineer and specialize in the day-to-day challenge of returning the equipment to operational capability. The maintenance engineer's focus is short term and responds to equipment failures by providing field troubleshooting support and timely work scopes. The maintenance engineer supports the safe and reliable operation of equipment by completing integrity assessments and recommendations.
ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Provide front line support to maintenance for equipment repairs including troubleshooting and technical advice
  • Create scopes of work for non-RIK repairs

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Ensures that the equipment in the CFT are maintained in a cost-effective manner by:
  • Preparing non-RIK repair scopes for both on site and off-site work for all (P0, P1, P2, P4 and P3 if assigned)
  • Stewarding and collaborating with the lead engineer to recommend appropriate action to repair equipment
  • Work closely with maintenance execution and planning personnel to solicit feedback on repair scopes
  • Completing fitness for service assessments and provide recommendations on repair, replace or return to service
  • Monitors asset health and provides the Reliability Lead recommendations:
  • Review of condition monitoring information for detection of equipment health issues or functional failures. When a pending failure is identified the maintenance engineer is responsible to intervene in collaboration with operations and maintenance
  • Periodic field walk downs as requested by operations and maintenance
  • Provides recommendations to changes in operating/maintenance procedures to ensure adherence to equipment TOE
  • Performs asset assessments if long term/multiple TOE exceedances result in asset life reduction or inability to meet next planned major maintenance event.
  • Lead/support trouble-shooting initiatives providing a clear understanding of the problem and recommend corrective actions.
  • Responsible to manage change to address risks associated with required equipment changes
  • Entering MOC recommendations into the system regarding equipment changes with completed risk ranking in order to manage equipment risks
  • Responsible to be a change leader and/or MOC task processor for changes related to equipment condition, obsolescence, improvements, or availability of replacement components
  • Ensures high quality materials are received and installed by:
  • Working with QA, supply chain, and vendors to ensure that appropriate engineering review plans are established for fabrication of new/replacement equipment in accordance with guideline GL-EM-004-04.
  • Providing SCM with material technical details as well as input on material cost and repair schedule. Provide vendor repair work scopes (if required) to facilitate vendor repairs of damaged components
  • Works with reliability team to drive continuous improvement for assets by:
  • Recommending opportunities for the area reliability improvement plan. This includes material improvements, equipment design changes, bad actors, input in procedure changes and equipment strategy improvements.
  • Supports the sustainment of M&R Asset Information by:
  • Providing feedback to the reliability engineer on deficiencies for master data
  • Updates drawings for the CFT assets in the document management tool while complying with the management of change (MOC) process for as-found condition
  • Supports sustainment of asset strategies by
  • Recommending changes to the reliability engineer for asset strategies based on asset condition or as found damage


Support Major Event/Turnarounds by:

  • Providing technical oversight of removal/installation of equipment or components
  • Support Turnaround planning by reviewing plans and schedules
  • Complete found work repair scopes
  • Guidance on any deviations required for SOW
  • Prompt response to requests for information
  • Completing fitness for service evaluations and determining whether to repair or return to service


Support Routine Maintenance Planning and Execution by:

  • Provide front line first response to support maintenance troubleshooting on a daily basis
  • Providing clarity on engineered scope of work
  • Providing timely recommendations on found work through endorsed repair requests.
  • Supports planning by providing technical advice on repair plans based on scope of work
  • Develop inspection scopes for pressure vessels


DECISION MAKING

  • Day to day advisory influence includes prioritizing maintenance with the maintenance coordinator, recommendations to repair or replace equipment based on assessed damage
  • Works with the Reliability Lead to ensure that change management activities, including creation, tracking and implementation of all changes are complete and effectively communicated to all impacted personnel.
  • Participate in incident investigations relating to equipment failures and ensures all follow-up recommendations are completed.

Lab Sampling Technician

Contract: 12 months

Schedule: 7 days on 7 days off. 11-12 hour days. Fly in fly out Calgary or Edmonton


Perform sampling tasks throughout the plant site, field and off sites to support critical and core analysis for our operations, ensuring these samples are representative of the source. The Lab Sampling Technician will carry out routine and non-routine lab sampling of waters, sweet and sour gases and oils. The Lab Sampling Technician may also be required to maintain all Operations satellite labs by ensuring instruments are calibrated. They will also provide additional support by assisting in the lab with routine lab testing whenever their primary sampling tasks have been completed and/or laboratory workload is not able to be maintained due to lab technologist vacation/temporary vacancy.
