Field Engineering Technician
Location: Christina Lake, AB
Contract: 12 months


Must be a highly motivated individual that will participate in project planning, execution and ongoing construction and commissioning technical support. This position is a field-based contract role, 8 on 6 off rotation based in Christina Lake, AB.
Air transportation to and from site will be provided via centralized travels hubs out of Edmonton and Calgary AB.

Responsibilities:
Contractor & Project management
Participate in project execution planning activities
Develop bid requisition in consultation with Coordinator and Project Engineer
Develop technical bid document and participate in contractor bid reviews
Develop and maintain performance (quantity) verification tool
Complete Estimate of Scope Requirements (hours/dollars) based on supplied information
Participate in contract planning and strategy sessions
Validate EP cost budgets for field work
Actively verify contractor alignment to contractual performance requirements (safety, quality, cost, schedule, change management) including identification of variances and mitigations in daily reporting
Support contractor and EP with material issues/shortages/discrepancies
Support the record keeping of construction metrics and KPI's
Participate in contractor close outs and lesson's learned meetings
Complete site inspections to ensure work complies with design
Review and participation in Safety Initiatives
Actively learn, participate and verify adherence to Safety Management System
Participate in field hazard assessments and Risk Assessments
Actively learn, participate and verify adherence to Specifications
Create, maintain and mange project specific Master Deficiency List (MDL)
Manage project turnovers in accordance with CCMT Turnover and TCCC process
Administer and manage pressure testing verification program
Administer and manage red line as-built documentation in preparation for EP back drafting.
Work with document control for project drawing control
Participate in the development, implementation and management of Master Project schedules
When required, perform verification of contractor progress / performance and project performance (example: Project Trackers), and communicate findings / potential mitigations to CCMT Cost
Review of Contractor Reporting to verify accuracy of actuals forecast
Participation in monthly accrual process
Change Management
Ongoing Contractor and Construction Work Package risk identification and resolution recommendations
Review and recommend resolution for technical issues
Review, communicate and process Contractor RFIs
Complete RFC documents and interface with EP for a solution which aligns to CCMT schedule and budget
Review and process FCNs, c/w field verification of completion. Maintain FCN log.

Communication/Reporting:
Identification and communication of Risk (Safety, Quality, Cost, Schedule) Management
Provide progress / risk / look ahead reporting and participation in related meetings
Ongoing communication with peers and key external project stakeholders (Example: Engineering)

Technical Competencies:
Use of Navisworks for 3D model review
Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
Use of Bluebeam PDF reviewer for advanced editing functions
Strong written English skills with emphasis on clearly describing technical items
Ability to read construction drawings, including P&IDs, isometrics and discipline-specific documents

Qualifications:
Engineering technician diploma in any discipline or degree
3-5 years construction and commissioning project tech experience
Experience in Oil, Gas and Mining design and engineering an asset
Excellent project management, scheduling, and time management skills
Capable of working independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team

District Fluid Technician
Location: Lloydminster

Description: The District Fluid Technician is responsible for the day to day execution of the load plans for fluid movement within the Transportation System servicing CTCHO (Canadian Thermal Conventional Heavy Oil. Movement of fluids takes place from the well tank location to either a disposal facility or battery (i.e. end destinations) and may include emulsion, clean oil, sour, produced water, and/or produced sand.

Specific Responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinate engagement with stakeholders and troubleshoot issues to optimize fluid movement operations. Stakeholders include facilities operations, production operations, and the carrier dispatchers.
  • Monitor called/planned loads to ensure they are dispatched and hauled according to plan.
  • Provide transportation daily, weekly and monthly reports on fluid movement performance and targets.
  • Use decision support tools to derive daily load allocation plans and create daily "what-if scenarios" and daily resource requirements.
  • Liaise with Coordinator, Transportation & Logistics to provide input to the analysis of the Transportation System components and processes (e.g. for continuous improvement and optimization).
  • Execute planned or emergency responses to changes/ accidents/ incidents as they occur within the Transportation System operating environment.

Must have Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Class 5 driver's license
  • A minimum of 2 years fluid hauling related experience

Project Controls Analyst - Oil & Gas

  • You will be an active participant of the Project Controls team providing Quantity Surveying, cost control, change management, forecasting and reporting with focus on timeliness and accuracy.
  • This is to work on a challenging billion dollar project that has both Project and Turnaround elements.


Responsibilities will include but, not limited to:

  • As a professional, you will be responsible to develop, maintain and continuously improve all aspects of Quantity Surveying, Cost Control, trending & forecasting, change management and reporting on the project.
  • It is a challenging opportunity to work with different stakeholders (Modular yard contractor, CMT, Operations & Turnaround) and Contractors to ensure their Cost process and systems are set up as per Contract Obligations and in sync with Systems & procedure
  • You will work closely with PCM and PC team members to coordinate scheduling, reporting & cost control.
  • Responsible to understand and follow the applicable Standards, Procedures, Templates and Specifications.
  • Responsible to raise any deviations to the PC Standards & Procedures are ensure they are signed by the document owner and approver.
  • Responsible to support Quality Assurance by ensuring process compliance with PC Standards & Procedures and expected behaviors through periodic audits.
  • Responsible to support Quality Control by completing the PC deliverables with timeliness and accuracy, to meet expected outcomes.
  • Managing commitments, actual quantities, costs, and allocations against budget and awarded values
  • Reviewing & validating invoices and Payment certificates, application of unit rates and method of measurement, new prices etc
  • Verifying and validating incurred & actual costs and developing/maintaining the incurred cost forecast (ICF).
  • Performing cost variance and root cause analysis at different levels including the contractor data to ensure proactive decision making.
  • Maintaining the project contingency and escalation management plans.
  • Developing and producing project cost reporting requirements.
  • Completing progressive closeout of cost closeout, asset capitalization and benchmarking deliverables at Modular yard as well as at site
  • Maintaining the project change log.
  • Initiating, coordinating, and managing PCNs (in Ecosys and SAP S4) at Modular yard coordinating with Cost lead at Home office.
  • Preparing or coordinating with the estimator and/or scheduler for the preparation of cost & schedule impacts to analyze potential PCNs.
  • Coordinating with the PMoC coordinator or project management designate for change management.
  • Organizing and chairing monthly change management meeting at Mod yard.
  • Submitting PCNs for approval.
  • Understanding the project baseline and control budget including scope definition, estimate costs workforce hours, schedule dates and durations and execution strategies to facilitate immediate decisions on project change.
  • Alerting the Project Controls Manager of potential or real deviations from the control budget as early as possible to enable development and implementation of mitigation or recovery measures.
  • Providing supporting backup and explanations for all identified changes.
  • Working closely with all Integrated Team members, be proactive and resolve any identified concerns or issues.
  • Progressive closeout as project milestones are completed, e.g. POs and NWA. Set up metrics/KPIs and report in CT/MESR. Initiate Asset componentization list and finalize and obtain approval for the Closeout plan.
  • Executing the PC Closeout plan, complete and obtain approval for the final Closeout report, provide benchmarking data as per plan.
  • Ensuring all PC requirements on the Project Management Closeout Standard Checklist are completed.
  • Develop understanding of Milestone Analysis process.
  • Support the implementation of Milestone Analysis activities.
  • Ensure our contractors understand their obligations and how they will share in the success of the project.
  • Ensure our contractors are delivering as per their obligations and elevating issues as they arise.
  • Understand how our Capability Building program will lead to more effective progress meetings and higher certainty in project success.


Education And Experience

  • A post-secondary graduation degree, Quantity surveyor and Cost skills certification is must.
  • Excellent computer skills, MS Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), experience in Powe BI and analytical tool; EcoSys, and SAP S4 is added asset
  • Minimum 8-10 years of Project Controls experience in the oil and gas sector out of which 3-5 years at site working with Contractor.
  • EPC and Owner experience a definite asset.

  • Well versed in Quantity surveying of all discipline, checking Material take-offs against actuals / as-builts, apply right contract price codes, validation of unit rate contracts, invoicing and cost control reports submitted by contractor

Job Overview:

  • Act as point of contact for electrical/instrumentation maintenance and reliability engineering, working closely with E&I maintenance technicians
  • Support as technical interface between FH and equipment OEMs to resolve technical issues and evaluate new products

The Alberta (AER) and British Columbia (OGC) collect well drilling, completion, well servicing and abandonment data in order to maintain an accurate record of wellbores in the provinces. This wellbore data is used by the AER/OGC for its own use and by industry to ensure operations are carried out in a safe and efficient manner.

The Wells Regulatory Reporting Technician is responsible for analyzing and reporting the provincial regulatory required data for drilling, completions, well servicing and abandonment operations. This includes:

* Providing a review of the data accuracy of reports in the data collection database, Wellview.
* Collaborate with reservoir, drilling, completions, well servicing and abandonment engineers to resolve data discrepancies.
* From Wellview, create the operational government reports with the required AER/OGC data.
* Submission of the operational reports to governments using their online reporting systems.
* Analyze, update and maintain the internal tracking systems.
* Respond to government related requests.
* Liaison with the wells team, asset teams, well testing, production accounting, and Wellview groups.
* Provide knowledge sharing and support on special projects, as required

Requirements:

* Basic knowledge of regulatory (AER, OGC) guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications

* Minimum five years of industry related experience
* Proficient in AER-DDS & OneStop, Wellview, MS Office programs, Petrinex, Accumap
