Overview

Our client, a privately held company based in Vancouver and an industry leader in the production of sustainable natural gas products, is seeking a Site Procurement Specialist to join their project team on-site near Squamish, BC.

The project, situated approximately 7km west-southwest of Squamish, BC involves the construction and operation of a liquefied natural gas export facility with a storage capacity of 250,000 m3, capable of producing 2.1 million tonnes of LNG per year.

Reporting to the Procurement and Contracts Manager, the successful applicant will conduct full life-cycle procurement activites, from planning and strategy to ongoing maintenance and renewals for materials and services. They will also be a key representative for the client, supporting Indigenous engagement initiatives and fostering relationships with the local supply community.

Key Responsibilities
The successful applicant will:

  • Lead all procurement and contracting activities in support of client needs - Understand internal needs and external market, develop go-to-market recommendations and execute commitments using established procedures and standard documents/forms.
  • Analyze suitability of potential suppliers following company vendor qualification criteria. Maintain records of approved, current and potential suppliers by commodity or service.
  • Develop and lead formal Requests for Proposals for long-term commitments and sizable purchases.
  • Performs pre-bid and pre-award meetings.
  • Analyzes suitability of bids dependent on time constraints, cost and quality assurance.
  • Prepares bid evaluations and seeks appropriate approvals of awards.
  • Monitor and report on the status of procurement and contract completion for activities of the team members you are supporting.
  • Supplier Performance Management - ongoing support of contract management plans and the coordination of managing key performance indicators.
  • External Stakeholder Engagement - Lead interactions and manage deliverables with key external stakeholders related to procurement & contract planning and activities.


Required Experience

  • 5 years of supply chain functional experience or working knowledge of procurement & contracts systems, including working with external suppliers and contractors.
  • Knowledge of commercial terms and conditions and procurement activity in the Canadian marketplace.
  • Procurement/supply chain Undergraduate degree and professional certification are desirable.
  • Previous exposure to oil and gas industry projects/operations is an asset.

Maintenance Engineer - Electrical and Instrumentation

MAINTENANCE ENGINEER - Electrical and Instrumentation
Location: Fort McMurray
Contract: 12 months ongoing.
The maintenance engineer reports to the Lead Reliability Engineer and specialize in the day-to-day challenge of returning the equipment to operational capability. The maintenance engineer's focus is short term and responds to equipment failures by providing field troubleshooting support and timely work scopes. The maintenance engineer supports the safe and reliable operation of equipment by completing integrity assessments and recommendations.
DUTIES

  • Communicate with vendors (technical)
  • Create notifications
  • Provide front line support to maintenance for equipment repairs including troubleshooting and technical advice
  • Create scopes of work for non-RIK repairs
  • Approve pressure equipment RIK
  • Support field execution for planned and unplanned maintenance activities
  • Provide technical support to develop maintenance and operation procedures for equipment.
  • Ensure that all equipment being designed and repaired, and recognized international standards
  • Inspect work at external fabrication and repair shops when required
  • Suggest improvement opportunities for training, bills of materials, scopes and asset design
  • Manage change in the KMS tool
  • Complete integrity assessments
  • Complete deferral assessments based on risk to integrity
  • Audit field repairs

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Ensures that the equipment in the CFT are maintained in a cost-effective manner by:
  • Preparing non-RIK repair scopes for both on site and off-site work for all (P0, P1, P2, P4 and P3 if assigned)
  • Stewarding and collaborating with the lead engineer to recommend appropriate action to repair equipment
  • Work closely with maintenance execution and planning personnel to solicit feedback on repair scopes
  • Completing fitness for service assessments and provide recommendations on repair, replace or return to service
  • Monitors asset health and provides the Reliability Lead recommendations:
  • Review of condition monitoring information for detection of equipment health issues or functional failures. When a pending failure is identified the maintenance engineer is responsible to intervene in collaboration with operations and maintenance
  • Periodic field walk downs as requested by operations and maintenance
  • Provides recommendations to changes in operating/maintenance procedures to ensure adherence to equipment TOE
  • Performs asset assessments if long term/multiple TOE exceedances result in asset life reduction or inability to meet next planned major maintenance event.
  • Lead/support trouble-shooting initiatives providing a clear understanding of the problem and recommend corrective actions.
  • Responsible to manage change to address risks associated with required equipment changes
  • Entering MOC recommendations into the system regarding equipment changes with completed risk ranking in order to manage equipment risks
  • Responsible to be a change leader and/or MOC task processor for changes related to equipment condition, obsolescence, improvements, or availability of replacement components
  • Ensures high quality materials are received and installed by:
  • Working with QA, supply chain, and vendors to ensure that appropriate engineering review plans are established for fabrication of new/replacement equipment in accordance with guideline GL-EM-004-04.
  • Providing SCM with material technical details as well as input on material cost and repair schedule. Provide vendor repair work scopes (if required) to facilitate vendor repairs of damaged components
  • Works with reliability team to drive continuous improvement for assets by:
  • Recommending opportunities for the area reliability improvement plan. This includes material improvements, equipment design changes, bad actors, input in procedure changes and equipment strategy improvements.
  • Supports the sustainment of M&R Asset Information by:
  • Providing feedback to the reliability engineer on deficiencies for master data
  • Updates drawings for the CFT assets in the document management tool while complying with the management of change (MOC) process for as-found condition
  • Supports sustainment of asset strategies by
  • Recommending changes to the reliability engineer for asset strategies based on asset condition or as found damage

Support Major Event/Turnarounds by:

  • Providing technical oversight of removal/installation of equipment or components
  • Support Turnaround planning by reviewing plans and schedules
  • Complete found work repair scopes
  • Guidance on any deviations required for SOW
  • Prompt response to requests for information
  • Completing fitness for service evaluations and determining whether to repair or return to service

Support Routine Maintenance Planning and Execution by:

  • Provide front line first response to support maintenance troubleshooting on a daily basis
  • Providing clarity on engineered scope of work
  • Providing timely recommendations on found work through endorsed repair requests.
  • Supports planning by providing technical advice on repair plans based on scope of work
  • Develop inspection scopes for pressure vessels


DECISION MAKING

  • Day to day advisory influence includes prioritizing maintenance with the maintenance coordinator, recommendations to repair or replace equipment based on assessed damage
  • Works with the Reliability Lead to ensure that change management activities, including creation, tracking and implementation of all changes are complete and effectively communicated to all impacted personnel.
  • Participate in incident investigations relating to equipment failures and ensures all follow-up recommendations are completed.

Business Solution Architect

The SAP IS Utilities - Business Solution Architect will be responsible for evaluating the organization's business needs and determining end-to-end solutions that align with the organization's goals, and strategy. This role is in the Oil and Energy field and will be working directly with the Business Solution team, responsible to deliver business and solution architecture. The Business Solution Architect will collaborate with enterprise architects, peer architects, application support teams, and vendors to ensure that the right solution is identified, designed, and successfully implemented. The role will be responsible for establishing a thorough understanding of the current state of the business processes, and systems landscape to design the target solution to enable the business to achieve its strategic & operational objectives, ensuring consistency, cost efficiency, and quality.

What You Will Do:

- The Business Solution Architect is accountable to develop and implement innovative, practical end-to-end business solutions. This role will work primarily with SAP S/4 Hana IS Utilities (Master data, Billing, DM, FICA, CCS, CIC, EDM, BDEx), and core modules (SD, MM, FICO) along with its integrations with other applications.
- Work alongside peer solution architects in the areas of Asset Acquire to Retire, and Engineering & Storage. In addition, the candidate will collaborate with Enterprise Architecture (EA) and enterprise shared service teams (Cyber Security, Infrastructure Services, Cloud, Data, innovation labs)
- Ensure proposed solutions are aligned with all EA guidelines including data privacy, security standards, Integration standards, and infrastructure guidelines/standards.
- Work with vendors to assess new technologies, and products; understand vendor delivery approaches working in partnership with EA and VMO.
- Recognize industry technology trends and emerging technologies; assess how they can benefit EGI, in alignment with the technology roadmap and support strategy.
- Support and encourage the importance of technical quality, new technologies, sharing & experimentation across the org through direct leadership and mentoring.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end meter-to-cash capabilities and business processes.
- Requirements gathering facilitation & analysis, Solution design, configuration, custom development, and integration experience with SAP S4 Hana IS Utilities.
- Responsible for project deliverables including, business capabilities, value stream models, business scenarios & functional requirements, business cases, fit-gap analysis, RFPs, statement of work, solution sizing & estimates, solution architecture, detailed design & integration documents, status updates, and executive presentation.

Who You Are:

- 15 years of business solution architecture, digital transformation, solution design, and implementation experience.
- University degree/diploma in a related field, e.g., Computer Engineering, advanced degree considered an asset (MBA or equivalent).
- Expert understanding of solution architecture particularly in Gas Distribution or similar Utility based business application landscape.
- Experience with multiple end-to-end implementations of SAP or similar ERP system in a solution architect role.
- Ability to articulate and influence solutions, ideas, and recommendations to a variety of partners effectively and comprehensibly.
- Deep understanding of SAP IS Utilities (Master data, Billing, DM, FICA, CCS, CIC, EDM, BDEx), Business Processes, Applications, Infrastructure, security architecture, and non-functional aspects like Performance, Scalability, Reliability, and Availability.
