Sr. Project Engineer
Responsibilities:
The role of the project engineer (PE) can often be described as that of a liaison between the project manager and the technical disciplines involved in a project. The PE is responsible for managing the overall engineering deliverables, including planning/scheduling, budgets, change management, progress reporting, and coordination with various disciplines.
Working within the APM (Asset Performance Management) team, collaborating with an integrated team of Project Managers & SME's across multiple sites & facilities, the PE will focus on the following:

  • Interfacing with an integrated team to work collaboratively within the company, the engineering contractor, site, construction, operations, vendors and other project stakeholders
  • Provide support and assistance to the site & construction teams during field execution, some travel to site may be required
  • Review documents developed by the engineering contractor against both the company and the applicable industrial standards.
  • Support the project teams with drawing and data retrieval from Livelink, eB and SAP
  • Assist Project Managers with:
    • Developing & monitoring scopes of work
    • Developing and updating project schedule, cost estimates and cost control
    • Facilitating project, construction, & risk management meetings
    • Project progress reporting assisting in status updates updating actions, issues and risks logs
    • RFQ & RFI documentation from the engineering contractor, sites & construction teams
    • MOC implementation and updating
    • Organizing project meetings & completing minutes of meetings between both internal and external parties


Requirements:

  • Strong verbal & written skills in English
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaboratively interact with others.
  • Ability to effectively work with personnel at multiple sites while based in Calgary
  • Understanding of project controls, reporting and KPIs
  • Experience reading /understanding technical documents, company & industry standards including P&IDs, SLDs, network diagrams, material & purchase requisitions
  • Experience with engineering project deliverables and stage gate project execution phases
  • Knowledge of engineering terms, design requirements, processes and document types
  • Experience in execution of small or sustainable projects in a brownfield environment
  • High proficiency with MS Office suite of products; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project


Preferred:

  • Engineering or applied science degree.
    • Preference for Technical Diploma or degree related to Instrumentation and controls or significant past EPC work experience in this field
  • Experience in I&C projects; wireless instrumentation experience would be a plus
  • P.Eng. registration with APEGA
  • PMP certification a plus
  • Experience and familiarity with corporate business & processes

Petroplan have partnered with a Canadian Oil & Gas company whose operations include oil sands projects along with established natural gas and oil production.

The company are seeking an Asset Integrity Inspector to join the team in Lloydminster. Reporting to the Manager of the Lloydminster Integrity Management Site Execution team, this position will ensure that the requirements of the registered Pressure Equipment Integrity Management (PEIM) program are adhered to. Working closely and collaboratively with Operations, Maintenance and Engineering Teams, the primary focus will be on the inspection of fixed pressure equipment.

This position is a full time, contract position, located in our Lloydminster office.

Responsibilities:

The primary responsibilities of the Asset Integrity Inspector/Technologist/Engineer role include:

* Complete inspection plans for the execution of visual internal/external inspections and NDE activities
* Collaborate with the Maintenance Planning Team to review required inspection work and inspection methods
* Review inspection reports and utilize our integrity management software program, considering current and past data, to assign inspection intervals
* Conduct internal and external inspection of pressure vessels, exchangers, and other fixed equipment
* Complete installation inspections on newly installed pressure equipment
* Assess damage to pressure vessels
* Provide recommendations for corrosion mitigation
* Liaise with the Authorized Inspector
* Liaise with the Project Engineering team on new construction

Experience

Required:
* Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
* Minimum 5 years experience in oil & gas equipment inspection and corrosion mitigation
* ABSA/TSASK In Service Pressure Equipment Inspector Certificate of Competency
* Certification in API 510
* Working knowledge of applicable jurisdictional act & regulations, codes and standards (ASME, API, CSA)
* Class 5 driver's license
* Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
* Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
* Capable of working in a fast-paced work environment with dynamically shifting priorities and deadlines
* Capable of working independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team

Assignment Scope: The Data Processing Specialist (DPS) is accountable for the administration of the Project Controls database, including, data collection, verification, entry and analysis as well as creating queries, performing data searches and developing project reports and dashboards.

Within the Project Services team, this is an entry level position for an individual who is aspiring to develop a career in Project Controls. All duties will be performed in accordance with Client's HSE policies and SPIRIT values.

The DPS will apply their knowledge in data processing and analysis to the various data sources and project controls principles utilized in the Client's Capital Projects organization.
The successful candidate will have preliminary knowledge of database structures, data interdependencies, storing and retrieving data, generating filters and queries and developing reports from multiple data sources.

As a fast learner, this individual will be provided with on-the job training on the multiple programs and processes used in the collection, storage, processing and retrieval of the project controls data. The DPS will also be expected to learn the principles of project controls, the types of data acquired from construction projects, the basics of the oil and gas industry and the multiple programs used in the management and control of projects.

In addition to the organization, this position might interact closely with other entities such as contractors, suppliers, vendors and subcontractors. Within the organization and the other organizations, this position interacts and coordinates between multiple stakeholders, including but not limited to Engineering, Quality Management, Construction Management, Project Management, Project Controls, Finance, Contracts Administration, Procurement, Expediting, HSE, Transportation, and Logistics.

Key Accountabilities:
* Data collection from multiple sources within the Capital Projects organization, both at the home office and at site.
* Review and verification of the accuracy and completeness of the collected data.
* Timely and accurate entry of the data into the Project Services database.
* Acquire knowledge of the project controls principles and processes.
* Apply the acquired project controls knowledge in processing and analyzing the data.
* Generate filters and queries to retrieve data from the database.
* Assist the Project Services team in developing and producing reports to perform meaningful data analysis on their projects.
* Assist in the development of reports and dashboards for the multiple internal stakeholders.
* Assist in the creation of new projects in the database and closing out completed projects.
* Regular maintenance and clean-up of the database.
* Assist in the development of procedures and guidelines to continually improve the processes of data collection, storage and retrieval.
* Effective communication with the multiple projects' stakeholders to build and foster collaborative relationships.
* Work closely with the Project Services team to develop integrated project progress, schedule and cost reports.
* Maintain an electronic document trail to facilitate internal audits of data sources and database accuracy.

- Progressive closeout as project milestones are completed, e.g. POs and NWA. Set up metrics/KPIs and report in CT/MESR.
- Executing the PC Closeout plan, complete and obtain approval for the final Closeout report, provide benchmarking data as per plan.
- Ensuring all PC requirements on the Project Management Closeout Standard Checklist are completed.
- Develop understanding of Milestone Analysis process.
- Support the implementation of Milestone Analysis activities.
- Ensure our contractors understand their obligations and how they will share in the success of the project.
- Ensure our contractors are delivering as per their obligations and elevating issues as they arise.
- Understand how our Capability Building program will lead to more effective progress meetings and higher certainty in project success.

As a senior communications contractor based in St. John's, you'll be responsible for providing expert communication counsel. About this opportunity:
Reporting to the Competency Assurance Program (CAP) Manager and as a member of the Training and Competency Assurance team. This Training and Competency Assurance Analyst role is accountable for the implementation of the corporate competency assurance program at the site level. This role will require a person to become a Subject Matter Expert in all aspects of the corporate program. Working directly with the clients, duties will include coaching through the templated processes involved in CAP and coordination of the work that will be required for full implementation. Workplans and training will be provided to the successful candidate. Additionally, this role will include governance documents, standards and workflow process editing.
This is a front facing role looking for an energetic person to strengthen our partnerships across our client groups and one with strong organization skills that can lead this project at a client level.

Responsibilities:
* Work with our clients to develop CAP project schedules that have clear and achievable targets.
* Create workplans that drive consistent and systematic program implementation at the entity level.
* Provide entities clear direction on resources available within our corporate library and how to use the available tools and templates.
* Coach and assess entities on the current state of their programs and gap closure required to achieve full CAP compliance

-Pre-scout leases prior to moving rigs and support equipment to ensure locations are free of hazards.
-Supply permits to vendors for pre-staging of equipment on pads
-Ensure required Capex and Opex material is onsite prior rig's arrival reducing wait time and costs as well as lease congestion, ie; tubing, splitters, coil tubing etc.
-Ensure timely delivery from vendors for required materials for completions, workovers and pump changes. - Capex work / Opex work
-Track daily tank rental usage for FCCL
-Organize esp pump shipments and timing with vendors to avoid any rig wait times
-Coordinate shared services between Jobs for cost savings ie: hotshots, pickers, bed trucks etc.
-Organize trucking of incoming and outgoing materials to maximize cost savings.
-Monitor service providers hours of service compliance.
-Manage shift change with logistics service providers, evaluate PMOC documents and ensure competency of service provider personnel. - M&L support
-Complete random inspections of logistics service provider equipment and rigging.
-Verify required certifications and training ie; journeyman operator status, equipment certifications and rigging certifications.
-Assist logistics service providers with any related incident investigations and recommend corrective actions or changes to SOP's.
-Perform LSR's and BBO's on logistics service providers and follow ups
-Mentor new and young workers, ensure safety procedures and policies are adhered to.
- Derating of the picker / crane trucks during extreme weather conditions.
