Qualifications

Overview

The primary focus of this position is to provide senior level direction and technical hydraulic engineering expertise to ensure a safe process hydraulic design for our Liquids Pipeline (LP) assets.

This includes performing steady state and transient hydraulic analysis for new project proposals and in-flight projects from front end, detail engineering, construction and commissioning. And providing hydraulic engineering support to the Athabasca Oilsands Region in the event of operational issues, troubleshooting, or optimization efforts. Job accountabilities will include providing engineering recommendations to mitigate overpressure risk, and leading efforts to coordinate these changes for assets through the Project Gating Cycle or MOC process.

Duties

  • Conduct hydraulic studies using modelling software to analyze pipeline and facility systems for design and maintenance issues, develop solutions, and issue formal technical recommendations.
  • Provide senior engineering support by actively participating in hydraulics engineering activities related to operation and help troubleshoot hydraulics problems within assigned asset areas.
  • Execute and/or review feasibility studies, conceptual designs, process studies, and detail engineering designs to ensure designs comply with Enbridge quality processes, standards, and industry regulations.
  • Represent the department on selected internal committees. Responsible for ensuring that effective and proactive communication is maintained with all internal and external stakeholders. Initiate and lead meetings, correspondence, and discussions with appropriate teams as required.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated senior level technical competence in hydraulic design and engineering within the oil & gas industry.
  • 7-year minimum of progressively complex hydraulic engineering experience.
  • Must be registered as a P.Eng. in the Province of Alberta (preference in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering).
  • Detailed knowledge of hydraulic modelling software such as Synergie Pipeline Simulator (SPS) and AFT Fathom
  • Working knowledge of liquid pipeline and facility operations.
  • Hands-on experience with assessment methodologies such as PHA, HAZOP, or LOPA.
  • Strong ability to leverage operating data to support effective decision making.

POSITION SUMMARY

  • Identify and stop dangerous work promptly, coach workers to understand and commit to safe work.

Key Accountabilities
* Conducts surveillance of operating equipment and critical parameters, while keeping accurate operations logs.
* May prepare equipment for maintenance and perform maintenance and preventative inspections.

Required and Preferred Skills and Experience
* Intermediate level, typically 3-5 years of experience.

* General working knowledge of specific systems, terminology and procedures used within the department.
* Performs routine tasks. Able to solve problems and make basic decisions.

Pipeline Engineer - P. Eng. (Ontario)

RESPONSIBILITIES

* Review and compare the existing policies, practices and procedures and complete a gap analysis * Develop new Company standard, practices and procedures based on the completed gap analysis. Typically, these require long term, large scale, complex projects which may affect the planning, design, construction, and maintenance areas of the Company.
* Manage the completion of projects using engineering and project management principles. Projects are typically cross-functional and often require forming and leading cross-departmental teams * Work with the various stakeholders in the other departments to ensure the developed content is code compliant, accurate, practical, safe and drive industry best practices.
* Support the rollout and implementation of the recently developed standards and procedures * Ensure that the content updates are appropriately communicated, can be practically operationalized, and impacts to our key stakeholders are well understood.
* Ensure change management practices are incorporated into high impact projects to help with smooth implementation of newly developed practices.
* Complete engineering analysis on our pipeline systems that may require an understanding of operating practices, cost analysis, safety, stress analysis, metallurgy, plastic fusion, welding, or corrosion * Provide technical consultation to corporate, regional departments, and junior engineering staff on complex engineering matters of policy, procedure, or practice.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Registration as a Professional Engineer.
  • Graduates of recognized Engineering programs in a discipline of Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years relevant industry experience
  • Proven experience and understanding of pipeline design, pipelines systems codes and standards, construction practices and field operations
  • Experience using CSA Z662
  • Previous project management experience with excellent time management and organization skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

Administrative Assistant

This position is based in Lloydminster. Interested candidates must either be residing there or willing to relocate for the duration of the position.

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will be the first point of contact for people entering the Refinery, along with guiding people this person provides direct professional administrative support to the Refinery management team, and sales administration.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Performing general department administration duties and daily office functions such as word processing, data entry, reports, stats, mail distribution and filing.
* Provide administration support for the Refinery Product QA Program.
* Create and follow up gate access cards
* Provide coverage (vacation etc) for Refinery railcar/truck sales administration and maintenance.
* Record shipping orders
* Prepare sample requests for shipping
* Maintain stationery supplies

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
* Grade 12 with secretarial diploma or equivalent (other post secondary education will be considered)
* A minimum of five (5) years of progressive secretarial or administrative experience.
* Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
* Ability to work independently with a diverse client group utilizing strong organizational, interpersonal and communications skills.
* Excellent customer service skills
