Vice President of Project Controls

Job Description

Petroplan is recruiting for a Vice President of Project Controls on behalf of a US-based LNG operator.

The Vice President will be responsible for developing and ensuring compliance with the company's standards and processes related to cost management, including the oversight of relevant systems. This role involves collaborating across departments to drive the development, implementation, and coordination of strategies, policies, and systems that enhance cost management, scheduling, and contract adherence.

The role includes regular interaction with senior leadership, team members based in Houston, corporate staff, vendors, and contractors. Successful candidates must be able to work effectively with both the Houston-based team and on-site personnel.

Travel, including international and domestic, will be required for at least 25% of the time.

Qualifications:

• At least 10 years of senior leadership experience in cost control and project execution for major capital projects, with a preference for experience in the energy sector.
• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; CPA, CMA, or ACCA certification is preferred.
• Proficiency with ERP and cost management software such as SAP and EcoSys; advanced Excel skills are required.
• Proven experience in managing, training, and developing employees.
• Demonstrated ability to establish and refine cost control programs and effectively communicate their business value across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement strategies to manage OFE costs, materials, and schedules.
• Monitor OFE expenditures and identify opportunities for cost reductions and process efficiencies.
• Prepare detailed financial reports and analyses, offering insights on procurement and fabrication performance to senior leadership.
• Support the finance team by providing OFE cost forecasts and cash flow projections.
• Oversee cost audits, prepare reports for executive management, and ensure proper cost documentation.
• Actively engage in contract change management, ensuring adherence to contractual requirements and proper documentation.
• Oversee OFE invoicing processes, including reviews, audits, and approvals.
• Lead the OFE Project Controls team, ensuring accurate cost data is provided in line with company procedures.
• Manage budgeting, cost collection, and communication with project and corporate leadership to drive informed decision-making.
• Mentor and develop team members through clear accountability, goal setting, prioritization, and performance evaluation.
• Maintain transparency regarding project issues or any factors that may impact cost projections through timely communication.

**This position will be 5 days a week in office and does not offer hybrid flexibility at this time.
