Exploration Manager (Americas)
Responsible and accountable for managing all company's international non-operated exploration, appraisal and growth assets in Americas at the highest safety standards and with technical/operational excellence to maximize economic value creation.
Manage all technical, operational and all venture related administrative activities in the company's exploration, appraisal and growth non-operated assets in The Americas. Supervise Exploration and Growth asset teams consisting of multidisciplinary teams of professionals and support function staff.
Plan and formulate in line with the Head of Exploration, the long and short term asset management strategies and plans and to represent the company's interests to partners and operators.
Work closely with IOC Operator and partner counterparts in each respective asset/project Joint venture in order to set out mutually acceptable project execution and performance targets through the business planning and the budget cycle process.
Experience & Skills
* Very senior explorer with minimum 20-year experience in the international oil and gas exploration and production business, including at least 10 years in IOCs. Extensive exploration team leadership experience required.
* Experience of non-operated ventures preferred
* Experience across the full upstream value chain, from new business development, through exploration and appraisal to production an advantage
* Networked and experienced in the Americas portfolio throughout some/most of their career * Excellent communication and presentation skills
* Proven track record of coaching and team leadership
* Excellent command of spoken and written English

Drilling Supervisor

Company representative on the offshore jack-up drilling rig and thereby to be responsible for all operations on the rig and to ensure they are performed in a safe and efficient manner and achieve their objectives.

1. Direct and control operations at the rig site to ensure they are performed In accordance with Company requirements and without accidents of any kind. In particular ensure that the operations are efficiently and safely performed in compliance with the approved drilling or workover program, the Drilling Reference Manual ORM the Drilling Department Golden Rules, and that all rig site personnel are aware of and adhere to these requirements.

2. Manage HSE at the rig site as the highest priority by demonstrating visible HSE leadership and an unrelenting commitment to a safe working environment. This shall include: Participating in the Drilling Contractors "STOP" program to
identify unsafe conditions or procedures, performing at least one full STOP walkabout per week and encouraging active participation by all Service Company personnel in the STOP program to eliminate accidents before they occur.

3. Report all HSE incidents in a timely and accurate manner using the SAP system, and lead the initial on-site investigation of all incidents and near misses, to identify and document the sequence of events and immediate causes of the incident as quickly as possible.

4. Resolve operational problems as they arise within the framework of the policies and standards, and ensure that non-routine or unforeseen activities are always meticulously planned and organized to identify potential hazards and to
mitigate risks.

5. Review the drilling or workover program prior to the start of operations to ensure that the equipment and personnel on the rig are capable to perform the work and that there are no errors or anomalies in the program.

6. Report all daily activities and enter well data and cost information in Open-Wells, to ensure complete and correct record of activities with accurate cost Information for future analysis and performance improvement.

7. Manage the bi-weekly BOP pressure and function test, and sign-off the test record and pressure charts. Verify the correct BOP certification is available at the rig site, to ensure the Integrity of this critical equipment in accordance with Company standards.

8. Manage rig operations by planning and prioritizing activities, and making written instructions for the Drilling Contractor OIM and service Company representatives, to ensure that the program objectives are achieved in an efficient and timely manner and within budget. Provide written handover to back-to back DSV and maintain a record of lessons learned and improvement opportunities, to facilitate continuous performance improvement.

9. Supervise and monitor all Contractors involved in the rig operations, to ensure a high quality of work is performed in accordance with Company requirements. This shall include assessing and documenting service quality, verifying certification, and compliance documents for all equipment and chemicals delivered to the rig site.

10. Monitor, train and support new graduate engineers. This shall include assigning specific tasks to broaden the learning process to ensure effective on-the-job training and development of Qatari nationals.

Experience & Skills
* At least 10years experience in drilling operations including 5 years as an Offshore Drilling Supervisor. Experience in workover operations in gas and horizontal wells is preferred
* Strong leadership and people management skills with a good awareness of cultural sensitivities.
* Excellent communication skills in English (demonstrated verbal and written skills)
* Commitment and passion for managing HSE.
* Energy and enthusiasm to deliver the targets in an efficient and problem free manner.
* Ability to make the correct operational decisions based on systematic analysis with rigorous attention to detail.

Education
* B.Sc degree In an Engineering discipline or equivalent.
* IWCF Certified at Supervisor level.

Job Overview;

Job Purpose:

  • Division Head for the Project Services functions covering Business and Management Systems. Provides Engineering Business and Management Systems.
  • Responsible for the Occupational Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality Management Systems and Integrated Project Management System functions.
  • Lead the identification, development, and implementation of new added-value improvement initiatives within Engineering Departments.
  • Responsible for managing an Integrated Management System in the Directorate - Quality, Health, Safety, Environment, and Business Continuity, Integrated Project Management System, Portfolio/Project Performance reporting, ICT, and SAP support functions.
  • Analyses business problems in the context of business processes, business requirements, business scenarios, interfaces, and high-level business architecture and identify opportunities for improvement and optimization to enable the Directorate to achieve its strategic objectives.

Job requirements:

  • BSc. in an Engineering Discipline or equivalent preferably with Masters in Business Management/ Administration.
  • Fifteen (15) years of multi-disciplinary experience in various strata of project management including 5 years in the Oil and Gas Industry in a managerial position with maturity commensurate with Business Applications in an Engineering/Project Management environment.
  • Require good knowledge of all aspects of engineering project development, and execution and sound knowledge of Business Administration.
  • Good oral and written English language with reporting, presentation, negotiation, and effective leadership/motivation skills.
  • Should have proficiency in computer systems and applications.
  • Should possess good knowledge of current International Business Practices.
