JOB DESCRIPTION


Job Title: Head-Information Technology

Summary Description:
Head-IT shall have overall responsibility of the IT function both for E&C HQ and Task Force Project sites of the company.

Responsibilities:


AREA

TASKS

Overall Management
  • Strategize IT requirements for the company
  • Align and prioritize the IT initiatives in line with Company goals
  • Build a suitable Organization of professionals to deliver IT Services
  • Policy decisions on Hardware, Software and Outsource vendors
  • Develop Business Continuity Plan.
  • Information Systems Security policy
  • Management and troubleshooting for available systems like SAP, Gulf HR, Intranet and website
  • Report to the Management Committee on security incidents
  • Identify technologies relevant for Business benefit
  • Keeping updated with new trends
  • Ensure timely performance appraisals and training needs identification for all departmental employees
  • Maintenance and overseeing of servers for healthy performance for E&C HQ
  • Overseeing management of Biometric staff access systems

Policies and Procedures
  • Formulate, review and guide policies and procedures for the departments under the IT department at E&C HQ and Project sites.
  • Co-ordinate and liaise with various department heads for IT related development and issues

Project Budgeting
  • Prepare IT budget for E&C HQ and Project site requirements.
  • Provide hard ware, software and IT personnel to projects based on requirements/budgets

Support to Estimation department
  • Provide data and technical inputs to Estimation department for upcoming bidding projects

MIS
  • Monitor actual performance against budget/ targets through monthly MIS reports prepared

Qualifications, Experiences & Skills

Basic:
  • Graduate in Engineering preferably Computer Science/Diploma/BSc in Computer Science or IT Certifications in Microsoft Technologies (MCP/MCSA/MCSE) and Cisco are preferable.
  • 20-25 years IT Management experience, including 3-5 years of senior level responsibility
  • Exceptional hands on functional expertise
  • Proven analytical ability
  • Solid understanding of impact on business decisions
  • Proven leadership and problem solving skills
  • Solid record of delivering results


Preferred:
  • Demonstrated ability to boldly present strategic plans and gain support from company Executives.
  • Strong ability to collaborate, influence, and stand up to business leaders in order to move plans forward.
  • Proven success in cost savings for organizations in order to fund growth initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of company strategy, senior management, & what motivates them.
