Project Engineer - Sustain & Improve

Petroplan are recruiting for a 'Project Engineer - Sustain and Improve' on behalf of an International EPC Company. The role will initially be based in Hamburg, Germany but will move to other locations periodically.

Candidates are required to speak German and Dutch.


The Sustain & Improve (S&I) Engineer is part of the S&I team and will be responsible for ensuring compliance with Client standards and procedures for handover and close out of projects / minor plant changes at multiple Terminal level. The S&I Teams main task is to ensure that all site critical drawings / documents and GSAP asset structures are kept up to date ensuring Terminals are audit ready. By doing so the "6 pillars of DGAME" will be maintained at all times. The 6 DGAME pillars are the following:

Pillar 1: Site critical drawings (PEFS, Hazardous Area, Plot Plans and C&E Diagrams)
Pillar 2: Asset Register(SAP Maintenance Module and Equipment Tagging)
Pillar 3: Identification of Safety Critical Equipment from site HEMPs
Pillar 4: Design basis data
Pillar 5: R&I Plan (Maintenance strategies)
Pillar 6: Storage of Asset records in the Asset Information Management System (AIMEDMS) and relevant updates due to execution of Projects and Maintenance.

The S&I Team is composed of a team of experts (other S&I Engineer Document Control) and it's leveraging other resources (Schedulers and MRD Team) for delivering to the Facility Engineer the services aimed to keep the above pillars 100% up to date. Further, the S&I Team might be tasked to undertake "improve" activities leveraging its own resources or coordinating other contractors/external resources. The S&I Engineer's main interfaces are the Facility engineers and Project managers at T&SO Terminals.
The S&I Engineer will act himself as a subject matter expert and will execute and coordinate the above scope within the S&I Team, being the sole interface to the Facility Engineer (its final customer).
The S&I Engineer will periodically visit the Terminal (foreseen once every quarter) to undertake assurance activity and assess any other minor change redlined on the Process Engineering Flow Schemes (PEFS's).
During the period of DGAME Improvement Program deployment, the S&I Engineer will interface with the DGIP Team to grant seamless sustainability at every terminal. Further, for the matter of full onboarding the S&I Engineer will initially act as SVE for the DGIP team under the coordination of the PMO, for a period of time of at least one quarter.

Required Skills

- Multi discipline Project Engineering.
- Strong leader and motivator, experience working with international teams.
- Asset Management
- Ability to work with P&IDs and PEFS and hand marking Excellent communication skills written and verbal in English German speaking is an advantage.
- Knowledge of GSAP (SAP PM) / CMMS.
- Experience in process plant project engineering.
- Understanding of maintenance and maintenance planning
- Understanding of Hazardous area drawings and Cause and Effect Diagrams
- Familiar with electronic data management systems (e.g Sharepoint/EDMS)
