Chief Technology Officer

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Responsible for delivering an engineering and technology development programme aligned to market requirements, Foundation and the company's 2020 plans
    • Develop, maintain and sustain the company technology strategic plan to:
      • Ensure alignment to customer plans, developments and expectations
      • Proactive strategy to remain ahead of the market
      • New technologies to suit different opportunities
    • Leading, building and develop a multi-disciplinary engineering team of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and software engineers in line with the Company's Engineering strategies and vision i.e. best in class engineering capability
      • Lead a department that is focused on continuous improvement, efficiency and effectiveness based on identification and evaluation of cost of quality / waste related issues while using trend analysis to support the learnings
    • Work with the Foundation Cluster companies to ensure packaged offerings have a high level of engineering focus with any project reported issues managed through the respective cluster group operating company to the satisfaction of the Company and aligned to the 2020 vision plans
      • Develop and maintain knowledge and understanding of the foundation cluster trading entities (markets, competition, risks, opportunities and regional business models) to ensure common standards and best practises are realised and synergies gained where applicable
      • Ensure the ability to collaborate with, and influence at all levels of the Foundation cluster and other organisations from an engineering discipline perspective
    • Drive product design enhancement and design with focus on introducing optimisation and cost effective ways while addressing those challenges encountered with focus on delivering engineering solutions that meet market opportunities
    • Support supplier developments, quality control by ensuring engineering systems align with business needs and opportunities to improve
    • Develop a department resource loading plan that supports business forecasts and needs
    • Monitoring the effectiveness of the Engineering Group and the applicability of appropriate documentation, including all design related procedures and activities within the Group
