Position Title: Facilities Engineer (Production Support)

Reports To: Facilities Engineering Manager

A. Position Description:
  • Providing technical / engineering input on day to day production issues to optimise plant performance
  • Identify and manage engineering / modification / project issues.
  • Managing specialist third party engineering services to support project execution
  • Definition and execution of engineering work scopes to support projects and operations
  • Level of Seniority; Senior Engineer
  • Working B2B

B. Core Competencies
Required to have the capability of undertaking the following tasks unsupervised:
  • Develop a detailed and comprehensive knowledge of plant configurations and operating regimes
  • Own the process simulations carried-out by 3rd parties for each facility. Develop and refine these to optimise plant performance
  • Liaise with production department to incorporate actual operating data
  • Troubleshoot production issues as they arise from the engineering perspective
  • Technical input for all project and operational phases, including concept definition and development, definition, implementation and interpretation of engineering work scopes
  • Technical management of third-party services for all project and operational phases, including development of technical scopes, verification of work executed, technical reporting and inter-departmental liaison
  • MOC ownership
  • Liaise closely with planning and cost control
  • Train and mentor local staff as required.

Expected to ensure the following performance outcomes:
  • Delivery of timely and competent technical / engineering solutions to operational assets
  • Improvement of management systems required to support the technical aspects of operations
  • Continuing asset integrity

Expected to demonstrate the following attributes:
  • A competent and experienced team player
  • Communication excellence and ability to interface, report and liaise at all levels
  • Proven technical knowledge across a range of disciplines - but focusing on process
  • Familiar and experienced in engineering and hands-on operations support
  • Willingness to travel as job requires

E. Education and Qualifications Required
Has achieved the following further education level and professional qualifications:
  • Process engineering background with a degree in applicable engineering discipline - process, chemical, petroleum engineering from a recognised educational institution

F. Experience Required
Required to have the following experience:
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in Engineering within the oil and gas sector
  • Operating experience at plant level
  • Previous international experience essential,

G. Other Relevant Competency Requirements:
  • Mentoring skills
  • Experienced at communicating effectively and succinctly with company senior management and other departments
