Planner / Scheduler

JOB DESCRIPTION


Our client, a major Operator within the petro-chemical industry, require an experienced Planner / Scheduler to work at their Lake Charles, Louisiana project.


Job Overview:
The Planner / Scheduler will build, maintain, and update schedules using Primavera P6 following the Project Life Cycle (PLC) framework and the scheduling guidelines.

Responsibilities:
Monitoring and Reporting on project status

Analyzing schedules and associated changes for risk areas

Create, manage, and maintain project schedules for complex projects while working with contractors and project team members.

Update forecast and analyze the impact of delays, communicating the status of the schedule and risk areas to team members

Understand the planning aspect of all phases of projects, identifying order of events, risks, and opportunities for streamlining the project execution

Prepare and develop logical Work Breakdown Structure (WBS). Leading project team planning sessions relating to sequencing and structure of activities

Manage the baseline schedule development and approval effort in conjunction with the project team

Decide reasonable schedule logic, constraints, and duration from interactive planning meeting with project teams

Execute schedule analysis, including quantitative risk analysis

Skills / Experience:
Bachelor's degree in a technical field required

5 years of scheduling or project controls experience

Onshore construction / commissioning experience required

Experience with Primavera P6 required

High level of analytical thinking skills to plan and forecast work

Demonstrated past of working in a cross-functional environment providing accurate data to team members, ensuring forecasted project delivery
