Senior Originator- Renewables

Petroplan are recruiting for a Senior Originator on behalf of a well-established European Developer with project development and pipeline in place across multi-European locations.

The Senior Originator is a newly established role created to support their rapidly growing activities across Eastern Europe in particular. Currently active markets include Croatia, Serbia, North Macedonia, Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania and Poland.

The successful candidate's task will be to source PPA solutions for their current and future projects and to support their existing portfolio.
Previous Eastern Europe experience within the field would be highly desirable (particularly Romania).

With offices set up across the vast majority of Europe our client are open to the location of the successful candidate, and could also offer re-location assistance for the right candidate to one of their various offices across Europe.

Knowledge requirements:

  • Knowledge of European energy markets, in particular those ones in Eastern Europe
  • Track record of originating, structuring, negotiating, and executing both utility and corporate PPA agreements in various energy markets and cross border
  • Understanding of energy transactions including PPAs, Corporate PPAs, ISDA and EFET
  • Deep knowledge of country specific subsidy and renewable energy support schemes
  • Extensive personal network in the European PPA/energy market
  • Proven ability to build relationships with a broad range of stakeholders in multiple countries and at all levels
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • The successful candidate must be a self-starter with a proven track record of working both autonomously and as part of a team



Preferred Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a PPA origination or Power Trading or Energy Consultancy role
  • Experience of the solar PV industry and utility scale batteries an advantage
  • Strong commercial delivery mindset
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in energy sector in Eastern Europe is a plus
  • Additional language as Romanian is a plus

Project Development Manager
Developer specialising in Solar PV / Wind Projects across UK & Europe

We're pleased to be representing a rapidly growing Developer with a strong pipeline of projects across multiple technologies and geographies looking for a Project Development Experience ideally with UK Wind experience to help them continue their growth here in the UK.
Solar / alternative renewable development experience also strongly considered.
The company has a global presence and have been established within the UK market for a number of years already.

Location: candidate can be based anywhere in the UK.
Package: likely £75k - £90k base. (negotiable DOE) plus excellent bonus structure and market leading LTIP scheme for employees.
The Role:

  • You will be responsible for origination and early-stage development of onshore wind projects across the UK and European markets, including identifying potential projects and project sites.
  • Responsible for project development from origination to ready to build stage.
  • Establishing and growing relationships with landowners, investors, local authorities, utilities and various other stakeholders to ensure projects progress through the development stage.
  • Approaching and developing relationships with industrial and commercial customers.

Experience required:

  • Experience in developing projects from greenfield to ready to build, ideally onshore wind but other renewable development experience also strongly considered.
  • Skilled in negotiation with industrial and commercial customers.
  • Experience with business development and project development in the renewable energy sector.
  • Excellent communication skills and good technical knowledge of renewable energy projects.
  • Based in the UK (ideally London based, but remote UK also fine)

My client is headquartered in London, but the role can be based anywhere in the UK, with the expectation that those who aren't based in London will be open to visiting the office and the team in London once a month.

About the role:
You will support the team on a portfolio of opportunities across the UK and internationally. Our projects are at early development stage, so you will be involved with the wider team on activities from initial site feasibility, right through to project construction.
We are looking to hire an experienced Project Manager, with the ability to be home based, to join our team. The role will support and assist our Marine project development team on a portfolio of opportunities across the UK and internationally. Our projects are at early development stage, so you will be involved with the wider team on activities from initial site feasibility, right through to project construction.
As we grow, we will also be expanding into new markets and there will be opportunities to contribute to this expansion. The role will be part of a very impressive and capable team, you will need to be ready to work in a flexible environment where everyone is aligned to company development.
We expect the successful candidate to have:


  • Practical understanding and experience of construction of energy infrastructure.

  • Relevant compliance and safety in design and construction standards including the standards specific to the marine industry in UK.

  • Strong ownership as a project/program manager and sound understanding of the principles of project management.

  • Previous experience with UK maritime port.

  • Experience with onshore or offshore renewable energy generation developer in UK.

  • Managed complex energy infrastructure projects and programmes (onshore or offshore).


Role Accountabilities:


  • Strong ownership - able and willing to manage internal and external teams.

  • Chair regular (e.g., weekly progress meetings) and follow up progress with team on actions.

  • Support and collaborate with other teams working on the projects from a land, planning and grid connection perspective.

  • Support senior management with budgeting setting.

  • Supporting project development on Marine project initiatives. Although the projects are marine related, they will be delivered on-land or near-shore.

  • Supporting and leading project development on Marine project initiatives.

  • Report to senior management on a portfolio basis


Essentials:


  • Savviness applied to new problems, innovative and experimental approach, open minded problem solving and entrepreneurial mindset.

  • 5-10 years' experience in energy or maritime sectors.

  • Understanding of the marine requirements, regulations, technical standards, OEM offer, design requirements.

  • Understanding of the energy and power project lifecycles and risks across large scale and complex utility-scale projects.

  • Experience using BIM, 3D CAD / 3D design, digital twin software.

  • Strong communication and negotiating skills.

  • Ability and willingness to work independently and lead a team by providing guidance.

  • Ability and willingness to work collaboratively across a team.

  • Excellent report writing, communication and project management skills.

  • Flexible attitude to work and the ability to travel regularly throughout the UK.

  • Renewable energy project development experience is a plus.

  • Experience of supporting multiple project teams.

About the role:
You will support the team on a portfolio of opportunities across the UK and internationally. Our projects are at early development stage, so you will be involved with the wider team on activities from initial site feasibility, right through to project construction.

We are looking for a multi-skilled candidate having broad experience in developing technical solutions, within the power, energy for the marine sector (onshore)
You will be expected to cover broad Technical Development of high-voltage distribution and transmission level infrastructure within or near Ports. So high voltage development background with an energy/power utility or technical consultancy organisation would be an advantage, with past experience in the marine industry related to energy and power projects as a differential.

We expect the successful candidate to have:

  • Practical understanding and experience of construction of high voltage electrical infrastructure at UK ports. This includes relevant compliance and safety in design and construction standards including the standards specific to the marine industry in UK.
  • Experience of working with one or several UK ports and safety personnel gained in a project delivery capacity.
  • Demonstrated practical understanding of development and appreciation of construction of high voltage infrastructure (e.g. cables, transformers, CBs, substations, BESS, AIS, GIS) from 33kV to 400kV.
  • Understanding of the marine industry within the UK and abroad (e.g. Europe, US, Asia).
  • Knowledge of the main players and regulators, with a broad understanding of their commercial and business strategies.
  • Broad understating of marine sector initiatives such as electrification and decarbonisation within the industry.
  • Ideally, experience within the marine sector such as project development or delivery experience within UK or international ports, b) project development and understanding of ships power systems and/or shore power connections (power plug), c) floating power, and d) marine energy generation as an additional skill.
  • Supporting project development on several project initiatives.
  • Ability to lead a team of consultants or internal members of staff delivering technical solutions and design for power systems.
