To perform the cleanse and closure of a number of Exploration company codes that include dormant joint ventures. This will include the elimination of any working capital balances, distribution of residual funds between JV partners, closure of bank accounts and completion of required JV, branch and statutory compliance matters prior to the dissolution of both branch and statutory entities.

Responsibilities / Key Objectives

  • Analysis of open working capital balances in specified entities and proposal of required action and associated financial postings to clear all balances down
  • Preparation and posting of approved journals in SAP
  • Running of the necessary SAP month end activities to maintain accurate ledgers
  • Preparation of final billing packs for Joint ventures and recovering any outstanding balances
    Preparation of final Joint venture reconciliations
  • Facillitate the distribution of residual Joint venture funds to the respective partners and the closure of Joint Venture bank accounts
  • Engage with Legal, Tax, Company Secretarial and external service providers to understand the local branch filing and dissolution requirements
  • Preparing the required submissions for the branch compliance activities as part of the dissolution process, including but not limited to: o Annual /abbreviated financial statement, Tax returns
  • Organise and co-ordinate any special purpose audit requirements as part of the dissolution process
  • Support the intercompany capitalisation and/or write-off process in the branch and statutory entities as required

Education and Background

  • Experience with SAP, particularly Joint Venture accounting Relevant Finance accreditation (CA / ACCA) Experience with Joint venture accounting and knowledge of JOA and PSC agreements Oil and Gas industry experience preferred

About the role:

  • You will lead the Project and Business Management of all Oil & Gas activities to ensure client satisfaction and profitable delivery of all workscopes.

  • Participate at Board Level with all company and inter-company decision making and reporting.


Responsibilities:


Key activities are as follows:

  • Lead the restructuring and development of the engineering and project delivery O&G organisation to enable robust delivery of projects ranging from front-end activities to detail design.
  • Responsible for good governance and the staffing, maintaining, training, assessment, career & succession planning, and employee welfare for the O&G organisation. Work with and maintain an aligned employee management approach for shared resources.
  • Lead all inter-company engineering activities for the London O&G organisation alongside, and working with, the Brownfield O&G and Renewable groups across the UK. This shall include the alignment of methods, processes and best practises to provide a common/single approach.
  • Be responsible for all aspects of the London O&G business, delivering projects to cost and schedule, whilst providing high quality services in all aspects from safety, engineering, to procurement and sub-contracts.
  • Accountable for the issue of technical and commercial bid proposals, that are achievable, and ensure project delivery and implementation plans are in place that can realistically undertake the work successfully upon award. Also lead where appropriate securing and negotiating new work scope opportunities
  • Accountable for interpreting new contracts and workscope requirements, to ensure project deliverables and the right project organisation is adequately staffed, prepared, and all ancillary services are secured, whilst ensuring project risks are successfully identified with appropriate mitigation measures in place at the commencement of each project.
  • Represent the business externally and be responsible for communication with key clients at senior management level and establish long term client relationships.
  • Ensure rigorous processes and procedures are in-place, maintained, improved, and fully utilised to ensure the highest qualities and efficiencies are implemented and improved upon in a sustainable way for the organisation. Apply lessons learned, and also ensure project processes, are routinely and adequately audited
  • Be responsible for the issue of all organisational reports and inter-company communication.
  • Manage the day to day administration of the London O&G Organisation.
  • Develop annual financial and business improvement plans, goals and budgets
  • Strive for organisational efficiency and continuous improvements, move towards digitisation, and capture innovation and best industry practises on a routine, consistent, and quantifiable basis
  • As required, participate in Business Development and sales activities, and ensure BD are correctly targeting and sufficiently providing, a business sustainable influx of identified new prospective future opportunities.
  • Manage the supply, use, and commercial basis for O&G resources, as secondees, or for the provision of fixed packages of work inter-company or within the wider group.

Primary Accountabilities/Responsibilities

  • To accomplish team objectives by planning and evaluating activities for the management and administration of Commercial physical oil and renewables contracts,
  • Provide direction and support to the wider team by orienting, coaching and training employees to facilitate growth and development opportunities.
  • Facilitate clear and concise communication of the rights, obligations and liabilities contained within Commercial contracts to the business to ensure that income is maximised, costs are minimised and potential issues are proactively managed

Critical Skills/Leadership Criteria

  • Previous supervisory experience preferred or relevant training experience, including demonstrating the ability to achieve quantifiable results in contract negotiations, administration, and management
  • Proven experience in a commercial environment, working with complex contractual, financial and legal constructs
  • Demonstrated negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Highly organised and ability to prioritise workload to deliver against tight deadlines
  • Robust skills in Microsoft office software, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Hold the legal right to live and work in the UK on a permanent basis without restrictions, or meet the relevant criteria for employer sponsorship under the UK points-based immigration system

Development Manager (staff, London)

Our client, an independent Oil and Gas company is looking for a high calibre Development Manager to join the team. The role would be focusing the company's key deep water asset in West Africa.

  • Improving subsurface understanding of the various components of the asset, clearly demonstrating the risk vs the reward for the components and bringing opportunities through to approvals.
  • Working closely with the Drilling and Completions department to ensure that the best opportunities are drilled as soon as practicable, and that key appraisal data is acquired.
  • Leading the end year Reserves Audit for the asset. This should be planned so that future developments are timed to maximise end year reserves booking.
  • Working with the in-country production team to ensure consistency of understanding and near-term production forecasting, as well as protecting reservoir management when challenged by short term production demands.
  • Leading the subsurface team and challenge the team to produce excellent quality work in tight timeframes with a lean team.
  • As a senior member of the subsurface community, you will provide guidance and help to more junior members across the company.


Skills

Ideally you will have a MSc. level or equivalent in a related subject, with experience of leading a subsurface team for a large, operated offshore oilfield. You will be able to demonstrate experience in the following areas:

  • Experience of coordinating projects across departments in an Area Development Manager, or Asset Manager type role preferred.
  • Subsurface background required.
  • Experience of all field maturities - from exploration through to production.
  • Experience of leading projects through stage gates
  • Good understanding of Reserves theory (PRMS)
  • Experience of deepwater subsea projects preferred.

  • Proven experience in managing a large engineering team

  • Experience of managing engineering input to projects or work packages

  • Ability to prioritise own and others' workload, manage time and change control accordingly and direct team members where constraints will affect a project in terms of schedule, quality and budget.

  • Ability to manage interfaces within a project structure, including other disciplines, drawing office, document control, project management, client and suppliers.
  • Ability to effectively solve problems, within a context of cost, contract and risk management
  • Ability to work within time/budget constraints

  • Sound communication skills, oral, written and electronic.
