Principal Structural Engineer

Petroplan are seeking a Principal Structural Engineer, based in UK, to join a consultancy client of ours on a staff basis. The client is one of the most active consultancies in the Energy field, winning bids for Offshore Wind projects across several clients.

As part of their proactiveness, they are now seeking a Principal level (or ready to become a Principal) to join a highly regarded team of Structural professionals and focus on applying detailed technical knowledge of substation topside design and deliver said designs within scope and on-time.

Location: London (hybrid working is a negotiable option)

Salary: D.O.E

Core Competencies/Requirements:

  • Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering & Chartered
  • Experienced in Renewables offshore projects
  • Has minimum 10 years' experience
  • Demonstrable track record of technical delivery on detailed design projects. A minimum of two projects.
  • Detailed technical knowledge of substation topside design to a level sufficient for detailed design stages
  • Detailed technical knowledge of steel structural design for jackets and topsides for offshore structures to a level sufficient for detailed design projects
  • Finite Element analysis experience for offshore structural analysis
  • Knowledge of offshore relevant codes, standards and best practice for offshore design in renewables sector
  • Lead and manage engineers to produce technical output as part of a wider multi discipline scope

Senior Supply Chain Engineer - Power Cable

Responsibilities
As a Senior Supply Chain Engineer for Offshore floating wind market, you will be globally responsible and accountable for the Power Cable Category by providing final delivery as per the requirements of the Project or Tender: with competitive solution (price, schedule), assessing quality, contractual and HSE risks, securing access to plant with achievable solution for the project. The main responsibilities include:

  • Develop and become as an expert on Power Cable Category for Floating winds project
  • Source activities of complex "engineered" materials and services
  • Set up Contract for Procurement
  • Create an internal Network with region to capitalize the experience
  • Coordinate with other internal disciplines (technical, quality, contract, HSE)
  • Foster relationship with key suppliers
  • Contribute to clear and high-quality presentations and reports


Your profile

  • Degree in a relevant discipline (Engineering or Business), minimum 5 to 7 years of experience
  • Technical awareness of Electrical Power & Distribution system or in contract management would be a plus
  • Strong team player with effective communication and relationship skills
  • Understanding of the technical consequences of a business decision as well as the business consequences of a technical decision.
  • "Cost saving" oriented, and capable of challenging requests.
  • Ability to understand complex subject
  • Demonstrate good communication skills / verbal & written communication skills in English

Project Engineer
Petroplan are assisting a client of ours with their search for a Project Engineer with Onshore EPC/consultancy project experience. The client is an emerging player in the transitional phase of the energy market. They have projects with exposure to Low Carbon/Energy Transition lined up for the next couple years.
As such we are recruiting for a Project Engineer that will be responsible in coordinating the production of engineering deliverables and provides progress reporting for a project in accordance with the project plan. Supports the management of the interfaces between engineering offices, engineering disciplines, project controls, procurement, and third-party contractors or suppliers.
The Project Engineer is typically accountable to the Project Engineering Manager or Project Manager, depending on size and complexity of the Project. Corporate reporting line is to respective Departmental/Group Manager.
The role will be based in England as such candidates are required to have right to work in the UK.

Core Competencies/Requirements:

  • Candidate must have a Bachelor's/College Degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics and Communication) or equivalent.
  • Experience of FEED/Detailed Design and EPC Projects
  • Knowledge of international equipment specifications and codes.
  • Knowledge of standard international specifications and codes.
  • Experience in CCUS, Green Hydrogen, Blue Hydrogen, Offshore Wind, Waste to X and Emissions Reduction all attractive but not essential.
