The Role:

Prepare and update of Electrical design deliverables and 3D modelling work. The candidate will have particular experience in green field and brown field design of offshore O&G facilities and renewables. Capable of contributing to many areas as part of a small project team. Capable of originating documentation and working with minimum supervision and external input.

Scope of Responsibilities:

 Management and development of electrical drawings detailing the layout and installation of the electrical supporting infrastructure for the project, SLD's/schematics and wiring diagrams, cable schedules and bulk material requisitions to support the project.

 Application of Industry standard CAD systems (AutoCAD / Microstation) for the production of 2-D electrical drawings and 3-D modelling systems, such as E3D or SP3D.

 Managing the development and checking of common electrical design drawings and deliverables including Single Line Diagrams, Block Cable Diagrams, Schematic/Connection Diagrams, General Electrical Equipment Layouts including Sub-station Layouts, Lighting Layouts, Earthing Layouts, Lightning Layouts, Cable & Drum Schedules

 Assist the project Electrical Lead Engineer in management of document (drawing) control system and drawing production schedule planning (set-up and control).

 Maintain a detailed understanding of the activities, procedures and methods associated with electrical systems design development including: Cable Scheduling and Routing Design (above and below ground), Lighting Design (including lighting design software application), Earthing Systems, Hazardous Area Classification, Electrical Bulk Material Take-off and Requisitioning.

 Carry out technical investigations, produce technical reports, engineering standards and procedures

 Keep abreast of developments in electrical engineering and suggest ways to improve efficiency and service

Key accountabilities:

  • Play a key role in operating out the externally committed target of 100,000 EV units by 2030.
  • Supports the data and analytics value chain for operations, maintenance, and reliability dashboards.
  • Providing real-time access to performance data to support the organizations' ability to use insights from data.
  • Lead delivery of operations, maintenance and reliability analytics and be accountable for the execution into the regions.
  • Support standardized performance management across the regions.
  • Ensures that the business and operational requirements are clearly defined, working collaboratively across the maintenance and reliability functions so that the analytical tools delivered meet the needs of the asset groups.
  • Ability to lead a team of maintenance and reliability analysts.
  • Define consistent business metrics and promote their adoption.
  • Be a member of the Operations Excellence leadership team; providing active support and the development of other reliability driven projects and services across the clients operations function.
  • Develop and communicate reliability; use central infrastructure to promote knowledge sharing and standardization
  • Network actively across/with the regional operations leads to promote the value of the performance analysis and the use of this to drive reliability initiatives across the network.
  • Combine data analysis across all the reliability activities and leading the development of the business case for consistent systems landscape within the business.

Essential experience/competencies:

  • Proven experience in managing teams.
  • A deep knowledge and experience of multiple Operational functions, e.g., operations, engineering, maintenance & reliability, Logistics etc.
  • A knowledge of performance management and reporting systems
  • Familiarity with analyzing data to produce well-structured and defendable insights and calls to action is essential.
  • Basic understanding of data visualisation principles, some hands-on experience preferred (i.e., Power BI, Tableau, MicroStrategy).
  • Good understanding of the EV charging infrastructure and experience in this field a benefit. but other manufacturing industry backgrounds would be considered.
  • Capable to operate at all levels of the organization, with good interpersonal and presentation skills.

Performance and Continuous Improvement Manager - Hybrid role

Petroplan are recruiting for a Performance and Continuous Improvement Manager to join a leading global Oil & Gas operator client of ours rapidly expanding in to EV(Electric Vehicle).

As the Global Performance and Continuous Improvement Manager you will play an integral part in our client EV programme across several fronts.

The ideal candidate will need to be able to define and implement our client's Global Performance plan that will underpin operational excellence across our client's EV installed base and be the face of our client business.

Purpose of the Role:

* Coordinate analysis of availability performance data across the global EV charging portfolio to define the strategic direction of reliability in the future.
* Identify specific target areas and define possible reliability improvement initiatives to address them, combining both business cases (supported by financial justifications) and the long-term incremental improvements in our client operational availability of its charging network.
* Interface globally across the regional operations and D&A teams.
* Supervise a Performance Analyst responsible for data analysis and preparation.

Reporting:

* This role reports to the Head of Operations Excellence

Key accountabilities:

* Play a key role in operating out the externally committed target of 100,000 EV units by 2030.
* Lead the development of a market leading Global Performance and Continuous Improvement function which will drive operational excellence across the following regions: UK, Europe, ASPAC, NA
* Support the development of a reliability framework following state-of-the-art industry processes and tools.
* Be a member of the Operations Excellence leadership team; providing active support in the development of other reliability driven projects and services across the client operations function.
* Quantify and report the improvements both from performance and gross margin gains because of the deployment and embedding of performance improvement initiatives.
* Lead reliability MI for the effectiveness of the operational performance monitoring and reviews. This will include the development of customized KPI reports to monitor status and progress of relevant business targets.
* Network actively across/with the regional operations leads to promote the value of the performance analysis function and the use of this to drive reliability initiatives across the network.
* Develop and communicate reliability; use central infrastructure to promote knowledge sharing and standardization.
* Combine data analysis across all the reliability activities and lead the development of the business case for business-critical systems/tools and develop this landscape within our client.
* Active contribution to the EV Operations and Maintenance strategy for our client on the operational performance agenda and define and implement the most optimum solutions in each region- this strategy is essential and key to leading a customer focused business in a low margin environment.
* Contribute to the development of annual plans, budgets, and commercial models for yearly REVEX/OPEX expenditure in relation to performance and improvements to the network.
* Own the global roadmap for business-critical solutions/tool and facilitate external benchmarking for centrally driven efforts, owning the external relationship, scoping the terms of reference, agreeing on the terms of the contract, providing, and validating data, reviewing the study results, and turning insights into action.

Essential experience/competencies:

* Experience in large scale Performance Improvement and Change Initiatives
* Team Leadership experience (essential). Experience in managing multidisciplined teams (desired).
* A knowledge and experience of all Operational functions, e.g., Engineering, Reliability & Maintenance, Logistics etc. A knowledge of operational management systems and the ability to manage improvement processes which increase the efficiencies of these systems and processes.
* Good understanding of the EV charging infrastructure and experience in this field a benefit. but other manufacturing industry backgrounds would be considered.

  • Manages the integration of regional requirements into the global requirements, seeking synergies and optimisation opportunities.
  • Works closely with Document Control team to provide effective document control.
  • Monitors and ensures that the latest versions of the documents and newly created documents are circulated correctly within the team as well as on various projects and with external contractors.
  • Manages external contractor documentation flow into document management system.
  • Arranges team workshops/other to optimise and update key requirements documents.
  • Manages the digitalisation of key requirements documents.
  • Manages the use of digitalised requirements across EPCs and third parties.

Job Holder Requirements

Education:
  • Higher education in engineering, preferably electrical engineering or similar.

  • Key ability to identify, address and complete activities.
Experience and skills
  • 5-10 years electrical engineering experience in industry, preferably EV charging solutions.
  • Experience in industry or relevant industry using standards and procedures.
  • Excellent ability to influence others outside their line to deliver activities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain compelling relationships.

This Electrical Engineer role plays a key part in the EV roll out through oversight and verification of the standardised engineering delivery and detailed engineering solutions/review cycles. The role will also provide front line technical query support to the installation contractors to support timely quality and schedule delivery
Success is contributing to the fast-paced role out of this unique charging solution, through quality design solutions whilst facing the challenges of complex brownfield and greenfield sites.


Key accountabilities:

  • Play a key role in delivering the EV charge points in the UK
  • Support the Engineering Team Lead in creating a standard design model that can be deployed, and quality detailed design products for the installation of the chosen solutions
  • Provide engineering assurance through the technical review of contractor design deliverables
  • Support all teams during site appraisal, network planning, procurement, installation, construction and commissioning/go-live
  • Support the risk management process on the projects

  • Support key engineering management processes to maintain the roll out of EV chargers on time and within budget, in an efficient and safe manner
  • Alert the Project Manager and the and Engineering Team Lead on any identified risks within his / her responsibility.
  • Capture Lessons Learned through engineering and installation delivery and ensure Continuous Improvement throughout our EV deployments
  • Support interactions or contribute to negotiations with DNO/DSO and TSO.

Education:

  • University degree in electrical engineering


Essential experience:

  • A strong track record in engineering delivery within projects or in supporting complex project management involving Hardware solutions in the EV infrastructure world
  • An understanding of the standards and protocols of the industry
  • An understanding of Grid access constraints and LV / MV / HV connections.
  • A strong track record in performing technical reviews of 3rd party design drawings, calculations and reports
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills
  • Fluent in English


Desirable Experience

  • Technical and engineering roll out in the EV field
  • An understanding of Microgrid and Smart Grid concept and general design.
  • Broad professional experience in engineering and project management delivery.
  • Sound knowledge of EV charging technology and thorough understanding of the operation and structures of charging networks and how they are integrated.
  • Direct experience of industry standards in the EV space.
  • Chartered Engineer or equivalent (working towards with imminent application would be considered)
  • Experience in the design and build of or within hydrocarbon forecourts
  • An understanding of the management of design and construction phase compliance with the requirements of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations: 2015
