Petroplan are recruiting for a Senior Project Engineer based in London, working within the renewables sector for a well-regarded Engineering Business looking to add to their excellent Engineering team focussing on renewable energy projects.

Reporting into the Head of Technical Services, you will work across multiple offshore wind farm projects, the primary focus for the Senior Project Engineer is to deliver scopes of work on Wind Farm projects.

Experience within EPC's/Consultancies within the renewables sector would be highly regarded.

Salary: c. £65 - £70k

The Senior Project Engineer will support the end clients to deliver their Offshore Work Packages and also support on other live offshore wind farm projects including involvement on live bids, proposals, consulting, technical advisory and R&D design lead scopes.

* Lead projects or work with lead engineers to achieve a satisfactory conclusion of the project within the allotted budget and timescale.
* Responsible, as directed, for providing project engineering services to projects in various phases (design, construction, commissioning or operations)
* Work in a multi-disciplinary project team, to conduct design and analysis work independently and to the satisfaction of the project lead.
* Ability to act as a project engineer/package engineer/package manager on behalf of client.
* Deliver work packages from start to finish whilst understanding both theoretical and practical elements of foundations design, management, fabrication, and installation.
* Prepare Employers Requirements, review EPCI Design Basis and FEED studies.
* Contract management, preparation, and review of Technical Communication notes.
* Package / Contractor interface; various- HSE, QA and QC, consent compliance, stakeholder engagement and site conditions (geophysical, geotechnical and metocean).
Manage Package Document Control.
* Assisting in Factory Acceptance Tests or audits of contractors and their sub-contractors.
* Assisting in the daily management of contractors once the Project moves into the construction phase
* Proactively identifying engineering issues and risks to be addressed
* Managing interfaces between construction packages, Marine Warranty Surveyor, Consents Compliance and Health, Safety and Environment
* Ensure that all design work under their control is performed, reviewed, checked and approved in accordance with project specific engineering procedures
* Provide sketches, supervise drafting of drawings by CAD resource
* Preparing engineering model and reports
* Provide technical supervision to a graduate structural engineer
* Participate in accident and incident investigations as required.
* Form part of the Emergency Response team as required by the Company Emergency Response Procedures
* Experienced foundation engineer, with OWF foundation design experience.
* Senior level (over 5-years' experience in OWF).
* Experience with managing stakeholders and clients.
* Experience as Project Engineer with exposure to Offshore Wind Developments
* Experience working on Offshore Wind packages would be beneficial
* Experience working with external clients and teams beneficial

Senior Supply Chain Engineer - Power Cable

Responsibilities
As a Senior Supply Chain Engineer for Offshore floating wind market, you will be globally responsible and accountable for the Power Cable Category by providing final delivery as per the requirements of the Project or Tender: with competitive solution (price, schedule), assessing quality, contractual and HSE risks, securing access to plant with achievable solution for the project. The main responsibilities include:

  • Develop and become as an expert on Power Cable Category for Floating winds project
  • Source activities of complex "engineered" materials and services
  • Set up Contract for Procurement
  • Create an internal Network with region to capitalize the experience
  • Coordinate with other internal disciplines (technical, quality, contract, HSE)
  • Foster relationship with key suppliers
  • Contribute to clear and high-quality presentations and reports


Your profile

  • Degree in a relevant discipline (Engineering or Business), minimum 5 to 7 years of experience
  • Technical awareness of Electrical Power & Distribution system or in contract management would be a plus
  • Strong team player with effective communication and relationship skills
  • Understanding of the technical consequences of a business decision as well as the business consequences of a technical decision.
  • "Cost saving" oriented, and capable of challenging requests.
  • Ability to understand complex subject
  • Demonstrate good communication skills / verbal & written communication skills in English

Project Engineer
Petroplan are assisting a client of ours with their search for a Project Engineer with Onshore EPC/consultancy project experience. The client is an emerging player in the transitional phase of the energy market. They have projects with exposure to Low Carbon/Energy Transition lined up for the next couple years.
As such we are recruiting for a Project Engineer that will be responsible in coordinating the production of engineering deliverables and provides progress reporting for a project in accordance with the project plan. Supports the management of the interfaces between engineering offices, engineering disciplines, project controls, procurement, and third-party contractors or suppliers.
The Project Engineer is typically accountable to the Project Engineering Manager or Project Manager, depending on size and complexity of the Project. Corporate reporting line is to respective Departmental/Group Manager.
The role will be based in England as such candidates are required to have right to work in the UK.

Core Competencies/Requirements:

  • Candidate must have a Bachelor's/College Degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics and Communication) or equivalent.
  • Experience of FEED/Detailed Design and EPC Projects
  • Knowledge of international equipment specifications and codes.
  • Knowledge of standard international specifications and codes.
  • Experience in CCUS, Green Hydrogen, Blue Hydrogen, Offshore Wind, Waste to X and Emissions Reduction all attractive but not essential.
