The role and responsibilities for the IM lead is to:

  • Manage and develop a team of IM resources (up to 10) to provide quality document control, as-built drawing processing and information (data) management services for our projects;
  • Work with our engineering contractors, their vendors and subcontractors to ensure documents and data will move in time and without quality issues;
  • Integrate drawing management (from reservation/red-blue updates/as-built incorporation) into the IM organization and workstreams;
  • Set up IM standards for data handover so that flawless integration is ensured;
  • Manage end-to-end document and data delivery for all projects up to project completion and handover
  • Optimize the use of our current tools and systems - propose changes or expansion if and where required
  • Establish a set of procedures and ways of working that makes use of your experience to drive, deliver and leave behind a high performing, quality IM team.

This position is based in Sur, Oman with an initial assignment length of 1 year, possible to extend.

Required profile:

  • >10 years experience in project engineering, project management or project information management
  • Significant experience in IM including document control and data/drawing management.
  • Having worked with engineering contractors and vendors to manage interfaces
  • Ability to get the job done - patient and able to work with different cultures
  • Experienced as team lead, able to manage various priorities and keep stakeholders up to date
  • Eager to learn and to share his knowledge
  • Flexible team player

Metering Technician

Job Title: Metering Technician
Location: Oman
Rotation: 30 days on 26 days off
Length: Initial 12 month contract

    • Monitor Metering system performance to minimize metering errors.
    • Monitor Process Analyser performance for plant optimization and reduce chance of process upset.
    • Monitor Environmentally Critical Equipment to ensure reporting is accurate and representative.
    • Coaching and Mentoring of National technicians.
    • Carry out routine planned maintenance within schedule, including planning of the work.
    • Completing any corrective work identified during normal operations or whilst carrying out PM's.
    • Record and report mismeasurements to Measurement Engineer.
    • Support Site Engineering, Measurement & Instrument Engineering, SEA, BMT and Central team in gathering data.
    • Respond to requests from Maintenance Team Leader, Control Room Technicians and Production team to ensure smooth, reliable operation of the plant.
    • Record keeping of metering systems to ensure they meet contractual and regulatory agreements.
    • Ensure the upkeep of Test equipment, instrument calibrations, drawings, control charts, prove records and critical spares.
    • Prioritise workload within frozen schedule to ensure plan is complete by end of 2 week window.
    • Liaise with stakeholders to ensure we are meeting contractual and regulatory agreements.
    • Assist Auditors, vendors and regulators during site visits.
    • Support Projects team with work pack reviews, isolations and permits.
    • Co-ordinate the order of spare parts and feedback necessary information for the order to Material co-ordinators, buyers and suppliers.
    • Support Maintenance Team Leader in prioritization of corrective maintenance related to Metering and Analyser Equipment.
    • Commissioning of newly installed analyser's after start-up or project completion.
    • Review 6 week lookahead and feedback to planning / scheduling team.
    • Permit preparation for 6 week look ahead to meet 14 day gate criteria.
    • Focal point for Small scale metering projects between different parties (3rd Party Annual Water draw)
    • Provide oversite and coordinate workload to other Metering Technicians in the team
    • Liaise with Vendors / Manufacturer's when further support for troubleshooting required.
    • Support Lab with upkeep of Gas Cylinders related to Metering and Analyser equipment, replenish and re-order when required.

The Contract engineer will be responsible for managing the contracting activities of the company.


Responsibilities:

  • Administer the tendering process to ensure the "due process" is respected and timely progress is achieved, including preparation and issuance of communication documentation with Tenderers, organization of tender clarification meetings, organization of tender correspondence, update of a register and filing, etc.:
  • Prepare the Call for Tender documentation and specific Tender and Tender Evaluation Procedures in line with Project and Company procedures.
  • Ensure Project team are kept up to date with tender progress and developments, obtain any necessary attendance at meetings and obtain all necessary approvals.
  • Prepare clarification meetings with potential bidders during various stage of process

  • Assist in the preparation of the Tender Recommendation Report and the Recommendation to Award.
  • Prepare final contract documents and obtain signatures for execution of the contract.
  • Manage close out the Pre-contract phase (e.g. notification of unsuccessful Tenderers, storage of tender documentation and correspondence, etc).

  • Identifying the training requirements for the Electrical Technicians to achieve the required authorization levels.
  • Coach and lead the Safe Isolation and de-isolation of all HV / LV electrical plant and switchgear.
  • Development and review of Electrical Procedures

  • Ensure that all electrical and instrument personnel are trained and experienced in the installation, inspection and maintenance of electrical and instrumentation equipment installed in hazardous areas.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering with 20 years' experience
  • 10 Years' Experience in Oil & Gas.
  • 10 Years' Experience in coaching and mentoring in an overseas remote environment
  • HV Power generation & distribution experience including overhead transmission
  • COMPEX & Ex experienced
  • Hands on experience with: High Voltage & Low Voltage Switchboards, PMCC, HV & LV Motors and all plant electrical equipment. DG electrical Control panels, breakers, Synchronization panels, VCB, ACB, protection systems, 6.6KV Motors. VFD and Thyristor panels, Emergency generators, protection systems.
  • Auxiliary systems: UPS, Battery chargers, Battery banks, Air conditioning, building wiring, heat tracing, portable equipment, and grounding systems.
  • Good Communication in English.
  • Ensure all safety rules and safe work procedures are followed by the electrical team and by others working in and around the machinery.
  • Providing leadership and active participation in team safety meetings, discussions, and training opportunities..
  • Providing support as needed to correct quality deficiencies.
  • Lead and/or participate with root cause analysis for operating problems including the identification of contributing causes for non-operating events and work to eliminate the root cause for continuous improvement.

Petroplan are assisting a client of ours in their search for an (expat) Camp Infrastructure Project Engineer to work a contract assignment for 12 months in Oman residentially. Fully furnished and serviced accommodation is provided in Muscat.

Duties:

  • Manage the Front End Engineering Design (FEED) development.
  • Oversee the preparation of the EPC Tender Package and post completion of the FEED package as well.
  • Lead the planning, budgeting, acquisition of the Project.
  • Manage the project to complete on time, within budget and within scope.
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation as stipulated in the agreed package.
  • Track progress based on the detailed project execution plan
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate change management process.

Qualification:

Objectives:

  • Identify options to meet both growth and production debottlenecking aspirations
  • Deliver robust, feasible and economic engineering and projects concepts for both field development or operational support requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Lead feasibility and conceptual studies on new and existing facilities and perform economic analysis and lifecycle Cost analysis.

  • Lead provision of engineering input to Field Development Plan in addition to field Production facilities optimization projects, gathering, disposal and injection projects.

  • Coordinate, supervise and direct Concept process engineering resources whilst ensuring Concept process engineering activities are executed in accordance with company requirements and projects are delivered on plan and budget.

  • Team up with other discipline engineers to ensure alignment of the responsibilities as indicated below to achieve the Company's projects and operational targets.

  • Maintains team spirit within assigned personnel and encourage team working with the project team and contractor groups. Conducts design, safety and technical audits in accordance with the approved procedures and guidelines.

  • Participating in Engineering Meetings, Engineering Reviews, Project Reviews and Project Management Plan reviews.

  • Maintain up-to-date process models of facilities and hydraulic models for Gathering and Export pipelines.

  • Lead FEED activities and deliverables including design basis, philosophies, Heat & Material Balances, process simulation, Hydraulic and transient analysis, PFD, PSFS and P&IDs

  • Review of Process Engineering documents for EPC Projects

  • Coordinate, supervise and approve 3rd Party studies, e.g.Feasibility studies, Conceptual studies, FEED studies

  • Provide process review/approval to field change proposals (FCP's) related to process engineering.

  • Develop process related Tender SOW & Specifications.

  • To coach/train Fresh concept/Process Engineers.

  • Adhere to all HSE standards and specification

Qualifications:

  • Min Qualification: Process Engineering Degree BSc & preferred MSC in relevant discipline
  • Experience: Minimum 12 years preferred in Oil and Gas industries with a minimum 8 years' experience as concept engineer.
  • Solid knowledge of Concept/process engineering principles and applications in both 'green field and brown field' environments
  • Material experience in developing cost benefits analysis
  • Solid foundation and knowledge of oil field economics
  • Full familiarity with Project Development Cycles and Technical Authority mechanisms
  • Hands on experience in software such as UNISIM and PIPESIM
  • Highly developed language skills in written and spoken skills
  • Previous Middle East experience essential (local experience is a plus)
