Responsibilities/Competencies
Experience in the design of process units, pipelines, utilities and offsite facilities at the conceptual, FEED, or detailed design stage of medium to large size projects.
Knowledge of process engineering practices, economics principles, calculation methods, international standards, codes, specifications, and procedures.
Sound knowledge of basic engineering principles, P&ID/PFD development, hydraulic calculations, equipment sizing, safety devices
Understanding of Process simulation methods (e.g. HYSYS, Pipenet)
Familiarity with key SA engineering standards and procedures
Ability to handle responsibility and complete projects within schedule
Experience with firewater demand calculations and equipment requirements, industrial drainage design and equipment, familiarity with the associated Saudi Aramco standards and NFPA requirements are desirable
Experience/Education
Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering or related field
Minimum 15 years of experience in Engineering companies for design of upstream Oil and Gas Plant facilities
Expert knowledge of HYSYS simulation
May be required to lead a team of up to 3 Process Engineers and related discipline engineers and designers on specific projects
Perform process engineering calculations, including heat and material balances, equipment sizing, relief devices calculations, hydraulics calculations, etc
Scoping of projects, including process deliverables
Develop process deliverables (PFDs, P&IDs, Design Basis, Process Narratives, Process Calculations, Equipment Specification documents, etc)
Develop process engineering work plans
Develop basis of design documents
Estimate work-hours
Participate in technical presentations to Clients and their representatives as required
Participate in technical reviews, and HAZOPs

Responsibilities
As part of the project team, provide support to the Contract Managers in the administration of prime contracts, including prime contract review, administration and monitor of contractual correspondence related to change orders, claims and counter claims.
Gather and compile support and technical data, documentation and evidence related to change order management and claims.
Assist in the coordination of project reports, payments, invoice submissions, technical coordination meetings, among others.
Typically assigned to high risk, fixed price contracts or projects of considerable technical and commercial complexity, organizationally reports to the Project Manager and Contract Manager and functionally to the Head of Contract
Management Department.
Education and Experience
Degree in Business, Quantity Surveying, Law, Engineering, Construction
Preliminary knowledge of contracts management.

Project Engineer / Senior Project Engineer

Petroplan is supporting an international general contractor engaged in the engineering and construction of industrial facilities across Oil & Gas and Petrochemicals projects. We are looking to recruit Project Engineers who have strong technical background however, must not be focused on a particular discipline throughout their career and must have extensive refinery and petrochemical experience, both FEED and EPC/C along with strong commercial and coordination skills in order to manage the day-to-day flow.
We are looking for Project Engineers whom have been involved from start to the completion of multiple projects of over $1BMM, preferably with experience in construction stage of some of the following; gas plants, DHT units, hydrocrackers, delayed coker, catalystic reformers, hydrogen reformers, saturated gas plant, naphta, flare etc. or other complex units.
Scope:
The Project Engineer leads and facilitates interdisciplinary coordination within the scope of a Process
Area, thus giving support to the Project Area Manager or to the Engineering Manager. Project Engineer carries out multidisciplinary coordination tasks with greater responsibility and independence within the Project team such as Interface Manager, Material Manager, Resident Engineer or Field Engineering Manager. These positions reporting directly to the Project Operations Manager.

Knowledge in IFC performance standards and Equator Principals.
A working understanding of the regulatory and governmental community
Track record of successful management of projects / work packages to meet agreed budget and schedule.
Demonstrable Project Management experience for complex EIA, ESIAs, Baseline Surveys and Consenting Projects.
Experience of managing large projects from early conception, through consents.

Experience in a technical leadership position in the consulting industry with a minimum of 200 employees.
Demonstrated ability to design and implement significant organizational change.
Proven ability to recruit, train and motivate personnel in order to balance staffing strength with profitability and growth.
Results oriented with the ability to balance other business considerations.
Strong professional presence in the industry with clients and regulators.
Strong communication skills (written and verbal) with a demonstrated understanding of principles of employee engagement.
