Overview

We are seeking an Electrical Project Engineer to join our Power Systems Engineering Department (PSED).

PSED is one of five departments within power systems at our company. Our mission is to provide best in class power engineering services to internal and external clients through competent workforce and viable technologies​

Your primary role will be to lead the execution of capital projects. You will ensure that engineering design, procurement, construction and project completion is completed in compliance with the project objective and contractual requirements i.e. project schedule, cost, HSE, company standards and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

As the successful candidate you will be required to perform the following:

  • Lead and recommend new continuous improvement solutions for installations or modifications to improve existing facilities and standardization within specific fields of endeavour. Estimate costs, prepare justifications and complete expenditure requests as required.
  • Develop plans, schedules and provides work direction for preparation of designs, processes, reports, correspondence and related data and assures the efficiency, adequacy and conformance to overall objectives of challenging engineering problems.
  • Develop scope and description of technology items, and leads the implementation and operation of developed solutions in the field.
  • Proactively identify, develop solutions and implement for any issues that may affect cost, schedule, safety or quality. Ensure timely resolution of project issues arising in all phases of the project development.
  • Negotiate agreements and change orders with design and execution contractors.
  • Ensure safety measures are implemented in the projects' execution.
  • Be fully familiar with company Key Performance Indices (KPIs) and proactively identify actions to ensure those KPIs are achieved.
  • Review weekly and monthly reports on the status and progress of the contracts, including project costs and schedule. Attend project meetings e.g. progress, stakeholders, design review, value improvement, etc.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must hold a Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering.
  • You should have a minimum of 5 years' experience. Chartered Engineer Certification or Certification as Professional Engineers is preferred. Additionally, formal qualification in Project Management is preferred.
  • You should have a robust understanding of international procedures of Projects Phases, Engineering Phases, Bidding procedures, Procurement Processes, Construction Requirements and up to date Best Practices.
  • Be flexible to work in multinational teams and mobilize to different locations including remote areas as needed.

Experience in the design of process units, pipelines, utilities and offsite facilities at the conceptual, FEED, or detailed design stage of medium to large size projects.

Petroplan is supporting an international general contractor engaged in the engineering and construction of industrial facilities across Oil & Gas and Petrochemicals projects. We are looking to recruit Project Engineers who have strong technical background however, must not be focused on a particular discipline throughout their career and must have extensive refinery and petrochemical experience, both FEED and EPC/C along with strong commercial and coordination skills in order to manage the day-to-day flow.

We are looking for Project Engineers whom have been involved from start to the completion of multiple projects of over $1BMM, preferably with experience in construction stage of some of the following; gas plants, DHT units, hydrocrackers, delayed coker, catalystic reformers, hydrogen reformers, saturated gas plant, naphta, flare etc. or other complex units.

Scope:
The Project Engineer leads and facilitates interdisciplinary coordination within the scope of a Process
Area, thus giving support to the Project Area Manager or to the Engineering Manager. Project Engineer carries out multidisciplinary coordination tasks with greater responsibility and independence within the Project team such as Interface Manager, Material Manager, Resident Engineer or Field Engineering Manager. These positions reporting directly to the Project Operations Manager.

EPC: NGL Recovery, Interconnecting Pipe Rack, NGL Fractionation, Inlet Facilities, Sales Gas & Injection Compressors, NGL Storage & Shipping

Specific Functions (Management - Leadership):

  • Upload and issue the List of Teams in his area and keep it updated periodically, ensuring that each Discipline uploads and updates its part according to the responsibility matrix.
  • Monitor the actions derived from the interdisciplinary coordination meetings in their area of responsibility (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, HSE, etc.)
  • Responsible for the follow-up and closing of the actions derived from the reviews of HSE Hazops, SIL, etc. and coordinate the closure of Customer Comment Tags from Model Reviews.
  • Coordinate the Plans and Activities Program (Plan4E) in their area/unit of responsibility.
  • Lead, in the absence of the Project Area Manager, the weekly coordination review of Changes in P&IDs, "Monday Review"
  • Coordinator of the Fire-Proofing Workshop to define the scope of fireproofing at the beginning of the Project.
  • Channel and activate the Technical Clarifications to be made with the Client, Licensors and/or Vendors and Subcontractors in his area of responsibility.
  • Promote the optimization of designs and coordinate the consistency analysis of Engineering in their area of responsibility.
  • Ensure consistency of engineering drawings in his area of responsibility
  • Participate in meetings to launch orders to Vendors (KOM) and confirm compliance with the VDDL, spare parts, preservation requirements, IT requirements, services (training) and/or technical assistance on site, as well as analyze and minimize deviations.
  • Participate in the Constructability meetings (convened by the Construction Constructability Department), ensuring the participation of the Engineering disciplines and the implementation, both in Engineering and Procurement, of the approved proposals.
  • Manage and coordinate, together with the Project Management, in the taking of action for the resolution of the OS&Ds opened by Construction to the reception of materials and serve as a link between the Procurement and Construction Departments.
  • Ensure continuity between engineering and construction.
  • Coordinate the production and management of "As Built" plans.

Petroplan are seeking a seasoned Business Systems Analyst to join the Accounting Systems Division(ASD) with experince in the Oil and GAs industry.

ASD is mainly responsible for Finance business cycles enhancements, Financial systems support and administration. In addition to implementing digital solution for the Controller's and Treasury admin areas. It is also responsible for executing Payroll and Month end processes. The department personnel are a mainly business system analysts who understand both the business and the IT solutions.

The successful candidate will:

Develops and executes activities that relate to the analysis and evaluation of current systems and supports in the identification of business, organizational and/or operational requirements as well as assist in the design, development and launching of systems in support of core business functions, processes and programs. Assess & researches on technology needs determining improvements and system company needs and related cost/benefit analysis.

Provides guidance to perform business system studies within the area served, reviews, recommends improvements and enhancements to business systems which are very complex in nature. The incumbent assumes the department role with respect to business system development and represents the respective department accordingly.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Works with organizations at all levels in order to maintain an overall corporate management information system which is the primary source of information that is gathered for policy decision making.
  • Conducts feasibility studies, business cases, and project proposal reports.
  • Prepares the user manuals and associated documentation resulting from Business System Implementation
  • Interfaces with IT in the design and implementation phases of IT- based business systems and provides support to IT as the department.

  • You should have 12 years of related experience, it is recommended to have Business System Analyst Skills such as analyzing information and promoting process improvement. Also, the candidate should demonstrate abilities in problem analysis and resolution.
  • Experience with SAP is desirable.
  • Have an excellent command of oral and written English.

Manager - Mechanical Rotating (PDH/PP)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise and lead a team of engineers and designers and provide mechanical engineering input to projects covering the entire project life cycle from field development study, through design to operational support and troubleshooting. Provide necessary technical information for procurement in compliance with tender specifications/data sheets within budgeted man-hour and project schedules.
  • Review of ITT, identification of scope and technical requirements, identify areas of concern and risk, and directs the Teams to develop Risk Register
  • Critically review the sizing and configuration and identify the areas of optimization and potential cost savings.
  • Review and moderate the equipment cost and man-hour estimate as required.
  • Perform Contract Review exercise and identify the inconsistencies related to scope of work and supply, HSE and technical requirements.
  • Verify and conceptualize the most optimum work route. Identify a clear scope of work/supply and accordingly plan/schedule the engineering activities and manpower resource. Identify and quantify total number of engineering deliverables, man-hour allocation, format of delivery, time schedules and other requirements for execution of the work.
  • Coordinate with projects and planning on project time schedule, establish target completion dates & ensure target dates are achieved.
  • Develop Manpower charts and schedules, recommend, assign, and distribute manpower for the execution of engineering activities within budgeted project man-hours. Recommend cost effective measures to reduce overall manpower costs.
  • Review and identify design inputs from other discipline documents such as environmental regulations, hazardous area classifications, process design basis, project specifications, process data sheets, P&IDs, key SLD, control system block diagram, piping material specifications, electrical and instrumentation specifications for packages.
  • Critically review and check all project deliverables such as design basis, data sheets, specifications, RFQs, TBEs, PRs generated by Team.
  • Co-ordinate and participate in various vendor discussions for technical and commercial evaluation of vendor offers.
  • Administrate the preparation of Purchase Requisitions for the procurement of equipment and materials. Review vendor quality plans, ensure vendor equipment's compatibility and compliance with the scope of client specifications. Coordinate with procurement, ascertain expedite of materials and equipment to site.
  • Perform vendor document review and check for completeness, correctness and consistency of comments generated by the Team and other disciplines.
  • Interface and regularly meet with client and vendor representatives, conduct internal staff meetings, ensure the progress of project in accordance to schedule, allotted man hours and budgeted costs. Coordinate with projects and planning departments on schedule related issues. Update TDR progress reports through the use of PETROCEPT software.
  • Provide inputs for the preparation of plot plans, organize the issuance of engineering drawings and technical documents for Inter-Discipline Checks (IDC's) coordinate with other engineering disciplines in the integration of data inputs.
  • Monitor and ensure the team focuses on co-coordinating and managing technical interfaces amongst various disciplines and adequately capture changes as work progresses.
  • Interact with Quality Assurance for quality issues; strictly ensure compliance with Company's ISO Quality procedures. Coordinate Internal and Client audit requests; facilitate audit procedures of engineering systems within the department.
  • Interface and provide clarification / guidance / technical support to construction site and commissioning engineers, provide start-up assistance as required.
  • As a Technical expert in equipment packages, supervise and guide engineers involved in detail engineering of projects.
  • Perform departmental duties on development of standards, training and development of young engineers.
  • Facilitate the manpower recruitment process in co-ordination with HR.
  • Plan and allocate manpower resources for executing the different projects, proposals and other activities of the Discipline.
  • Play a leading role in technological and design improvement for the department in consultation with technical specialists in the group.
  • Identify employee strengths and weaknesses and provide feedback as necessary.
  • Lead the activities in converting the project from concept to detailed engineering.
  • Serve as a tie-in in the department team for inter-discipline engineering concerned with the project.
  • Accountable for overall discipline related activities for the successful completion of project within allotted schedule, manpower and costs.
  • Decision on the technical matters of the specified project &internal work distribution.
  • Consult with Project Engineering Manager and HOD on main issues which may affect budget, schedule, resources, layout and equipment specifications.
  • May make recommendations on mobilization/demobilization of personnel.
  • Supervise a team of Engineers & Designers as a lead and supervise multiple leads as group leader. 15% of time is spent on Training & development of incumbents.


ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering with a minimum 20 years of work experience preferable from a background in working for the EPC of the Oil and Gas Industry of which he should have spent minimum 4 to 5 years in similar capacity in similar organization having proven track record of his technical and managerial skill.
  • Technical expert in minimum 3 (three) rotating equipment packages (Compressors, Turbines, Material handling items, Turbo expanders, Steam Generators, Water treatment plants, Large DG sets etc.)
  • As a Technical expert in some rotating equipment packages (Compressors, Turbines, Material handling items, Turbo expanders, Steam Generators, Water treatment plants, Large DG sets etc.), guide multiple leads and engineers who are involved in detail engineering.
  • Minimum 10 years of PDH & PP project experience, preferably with UOP Olefex technology, required in Mechanical Rotating discipline.

Overview

Seeking an experienced Rotating Equipment Engineer to join the Global Manufacturing Excellence (GM) under the Technical Support team.

Technical support is a multi-disciplinary team responsible for providing high-quality technical support to GM operating facilities (Refineries, NGLF, and petrochemical plants).

Your Role:

Your primary role will be to provide the technical evaluation and assessment of rotating equipment including all the relevant auxiliary systems across our refineries, NGLF, and petrochemical plants.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to the operation team during the entire lifecycle of the rotating equipment, analysing their performances, operative conditions and boundaries, in order to guarantee reliable and safe operations.
  • Troubleshoot rotating equipment failures & performance.
  • Utilise knowledge and familiarity with the international standards in order to improve the equipment performance.
  • Implement best-in-class solutions pertaining to the rotating equipment, as foreseen by international standards and other internal company standards.
  • Lead efficiency improvement initiates, upgrading programs, & projects in the field of rotating equipment.
  • Provide technical solutions whenever the machines experience failures, utilizing sound maintenance strategies to analyse, address and rectify the root causes in order to prevent reoccurrences.
  • Propose changes in operating modes, or technological improvement, or maintenance strategies implementation, in order to support the company vision of continuous improvement throughout collaboration and people conversation.

Your Skills and Qualifications:

  • You must have a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • You should have a minimum of 15 years' experience in the rotating equipment discipline, with at least five years of relevant experience in the field of troubleshooting & assessments.
  • Thorough knowledge of engineering practices and economic principles, calculation methods, design details, and international codes, standards and specifications, including API610, API 617, API 692, API 691 are required.
  • Familiarity with the basic investigation tools and techniques like FRACAS, RCA, and TAPROOT is an added value.

Experience in a technical leadership position in the consulting industry with a minimum of 200 employees.

Demonstrated ability to design and implement significant organizational change.

Proven ability to recruit, train and motivate personnel in order to balance staffing strength with profitability and growth.

Results oriented with the ability to balance other business considerations.

Strong professional presence in the industry with clients and regulators.

Strong communication skills (written and verbal) with a demonstrated understanding of principles of employee engagement.

Good understanding of accounting principles.
