Extensive experience as Subsea Umbilicals in preparation and execution of large EPCI contracts for Offshore projects (Feasibility & Conceptual Study, Front End Engineering Design, Call For Tender and Tender Technical Bid Evaluation, Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication and Installation).
In particular, Essential skills / Experience required :

  • Conceptual Study, FEED, Tender and Contract package preparation;
  • Follow up of Supplier Call for Tender & Selection (qualifications, clarifications, recommendations, etc.);
  • Experience in reviewing and commenting umbilical design and other related documentation (i.e. specifications, SoW, procedures, Reports, drawings) with knowledge of the main topside, subsea and installation interfaces;
  • Review and approval of Detailed Engineering performed by Contractor;
  • Company Representative during Umbilical Systems Fabrication and Testing activities;
  • Company Representative during Offshore umbilical installation onboard installation vessel;
  • Excellent interface ability with other disciplines such as naval, structural, installation & commissioning departments;
  • Knowledge of QA/QC tests specific to umbilicals within the Oil & Gas Industry;
  • Appropriate periods acting as Company Representative on major subsea umbilical supply contracts;
  • Specialist knowledge of umbilical design, manufacturing, installation, commissioning and operational activities;
  • Knowledge of Subsea Control System and Subsea Chemical Injection System design and operation;
  • Specialist knowledge of flexible pipe design, manufacturing and installation is not required but would be an advantage;
  • Experience with both onshore and offshore lay Contractors;
  • Experience of application of Quality Assurance Systems;
  • Familiar with relevant national and international codes & standards, specifically ISO 13628 Part 5 and/or API Spec 17E or similar

The Senior Geoscientist is responsible for developing and updating a stratigraphic and structural framework across the company's operated licences in Africa, based on recently acquired 3D seismic data. The candidate will be expected to undertake the following;


  1. Interpretation and integration of recently reprocessed 2D and newly acquired 3D seismic, well and other subsurface data as part of a multi-disciplinary team effort

  2. Provide a regional stratigraphic and structural framework for the analysis and evaluation of both near field prospectivity and field scale reservoir modelling (producing and discovered resources).

The key requirements are:

  • Mininum 10 years' oil and gas experience ideally gained in an operating environment
  • Strong understanding of geological & geophysical concepts, to include structural, depositional and seismic facies and sequence stratigraphic analysis.
  • Understanding of stratigraphic and structural trapping mechanisms and tools for de-risking.
  • Competent in 2D/3D seismic interpretation techniques using Petrel.
  • Good understanding of key geophysical interpretation techniques (uncertainties and qualification of these), mapping, gridding and depth conversion techniques.
  • Knowledgeable in AVO and QI techniques and software including RokDoc or Hampson Russell.

  • Drafting of SLDs and Protection & Metering diagrams
  • Ability to liaise design interface issues with other disciplines typically piping and civils

  • Checks works of other designers for accuracy, completeness and / or conformance flow, related data and coordination with other discipline's work
  • Prepares and Checks MTO in connection with the drawings of his/her assigned project
  • Function as checker for discipline deliverables per instruction from Lead Designer / Engineer
  • Ability to produce deliverables on schedule, of the correct quality and technical content.
  • Fully conversant with ICT tools (e.g. Microsoft Office/ TEAMS)

Qualification:

  • Minimum HND/HNC level qualification in an engineering discipline
