We are looking for a highly motivated, self-starting and ambitious Geotechnical Engineer to join its Civil and Structural Engineering Department, based in Leatherhead. Requirements for the position are outlined below;

  • Position - Senior/Principal Geotechnical Engineer
  • Academic qualifications - MSc in Geotechnical Engineering or related subject. A first degree in Civil Engineering is preferred
  • Professional qualifications - Chartered Engineer/Geologist
  • Technical experience - to include the following


o Feasibility studies, including geological, geotechnical, seismic and other geohazard assessments
o Designing, contracting and supervising ground investigations
o Interpreting ground investigation results
o Design of earthworks and earth structures, including groundwater control measures
o Design of ground improvement measures
o Design of earth retaining structures
o Selection and design of foundations
o Site engineering support to construction works
o ASCII database and geotechnical software design packages
o Preparation of ground works material and cost estimates

  • Supervisory experience - able to work alone or as a member of a project team, taking the lead for geotechnical input and supervising engineers and designers on larger projects. Experience of working on multiple projects simultaneously and with multiple design offices would be an advantage. The work will involve liaising with other disciplines, clients and coordinating/working with project team members across global offices to deliver the tasks within allotted timelines and budgets.
  • Industry sector - experience of oil and gas, power generation, other heavy industry or civil infrastructure projects for the UK and/or global projects

Principal Process Engineer - Synthetic Aviation Fuels

Position: Senior Process Engineer - Synthetic Aviation Fuels

Location: Woking

Type: Contract (12m) Likely to fall outside of IR35

Our client is looking for a Principal Process Engineer with SAF experience to be based in Woking.

  • Must have Synthetic Aviation Fuel (SAF) plant experience at either Study/ Concept or FEED or Detailed Design/ EPC phase and have awareness of Licensed technologies
  • Technology experience includes but not limited to Hydro processing, pyrolysis, gasification, FT, HDS, HDN, HDO etc
  • Will interface with the Energy Transition team and Studies, FEED or EPC projects related to SAF
  • Either a Lead Engineer on a project or reporting to the Lead Engineer typically on larger projects, execute process engineering design for feasibility, concept, FEED, detailed design or EPC projects.
  • Exposure to Consultancy, FEED/ Detailed Design and EPC projects.
  • Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chartered Status preferred. Significant related experience working for Engineering/Client organisations in the Oil and Gas Industry and/ or Low Carbon Energy Transition projects

Senior Logistics Coordinator

Position: Senior Logistics Coordinator
Location: London/Surrey - Remote
Overview: This is a contract position (12 months) for a Senior Logistics Coordinator to work within Supply Chain Management department supporting ongoing Tenders & Projects. Position will likely be outside of IR35 subject to final status determination.


RESPONSIBILITIES
Tenders

  • Develop Logistics cost models.
  • Cost Model covering Transportation Plan detailing all material and equipment to be shipped in support of the Project and providing associated budget and cost allocation.
  • Cost Model covering In Country Logistics activities in line with Project Operational planning and schedule. Cost model will cover port calls, shore bases, port and handling, personnel movements, in country freight forwarding and import duty and tax assessment.
  • Costing will be developed by issuing RFQs to Logistics providers who can support the Logistics activities and dealing with personnel in the region where the work will be executed.
  • As required, issuance of documents and procedures to support tender deliverable related to SCM Logistics.
  • Effective communication with internal and external stakeholders in relation to the tendering activities.


Projects

  • Support shipment of material and equipment from global locations to nominated project worksites.
  • Manage each shipping file including issuance of work orders, commercial invoices, verification of shipping documents and supplier invoices.
  • Ensure all services are performed by nominated subcontractors as per the work orders.
  • Ensure all tools and systems are updated with shipping status and relevant documentation.
  • Support Project with shipping and transportation planning, solutions and cost analysis
  • Effective communication with Project stakeholders and subcontractors.
  • Ensure regular communication with Logistics personnel in the region where project is executed.
  • Compliance with customs and local laws at origin and destination locations.


General

  • Promote HSE within SCM and ensure all Logistics activities are properly assessed and performed in safe manner.
  • Ensure all activities are performed in accordance with company standards.


EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
Essential

  • Previous experience in a similar position.
  • Relevant experience of Logistics on large Projects.
  • Experience working on site supporting large Projects.
  • Good time management skills and ability to balance responsibilities.
  • Good communications skills.
  • Able to work in a time-sensitive situation and tight deadlines.
  • Microsoft Office


Desirable

  • Knowledge of SAP Software

Principal Mechanical Handler

Petroplan are looking to hire a Principal Mechanical Handler on a long term contract to be based in Surrey on a negotiable hourly rate.

This is to work on an FPSO project that is in pre-FEED, moving to FEED stage and onwards on an LNG FEED.

Required experience - demonstrable experience authoring mechanical handling reports during different project phases (concept, front end engineering design, and detailed design) in an offshore environment.

The work is to develop the material handling philosophy to minimise material handling, develop a plug and play handling philosophy, liaise with disciplines. Define the number location, capacity or cranes, monorails, davits, gantries, personal or robotics lifts and specialised lifting devices for major equipment.


Outline method description for major equipment handling and high risk operations.
