Vehicle Engineer - Aviation - Fuels - Surrey - Permanent

Our client, a provider of specials fuels to the Aviation industry, are presently looking for a Vehicle Engineer to join them on a permanent basis. This is a highly compensated position and offers an excellent career path.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To provide functional assurance on Mobile Equipment integrity. Steward for the standard and any proposed changes. This also includes the authority to approve acceptable aviation vehicle manufacturers (compliance of design to the standard sits primarily with the Performance Unit Vehicle authorities).
  • Will lead the vehicle global replacement programme globally, work with the Global Procurement Manager and support PU Vehicle TAs in the change out and purchase/procurement of mobile facilities and equipment.
  • Proficient lead the Global Vehicle Working Group - lead the strategic agenda and OMS work plan delivery aligned to MAR and business needs.
  • Responsible for the upkeep and stewardship of company documentation including creation and development of GEN, MECH, ITM and VEHC applicable vehicle standards.
  • To support Global Operations Specialist in EN Committee and international updates and ensure Safety Critical Equipment meets STP requirements.
  • To support Global Operations Specialist on vehicle maintenance task packs, maintenance and training (where competent).

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Degree (or equivalent) in applicable technical engineering discipline.
  • Chartered Engineer desirable.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in the operation and maintenance of aviation vehicles.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable industry codes, standards and practices (especially in relation to aviation fuels), specifically EN 12312-5.
  • Ability to work with and influence multi-disciplinary teams, OEMs and operational and management contacts.
