Maintenance Technician/Sales Specialist

JOB DESCRIPTION


Maintenance and Sales of industrial machinery (vertical / horizontal honing machines), tooling and abrasives products. Key focus area is sales growth and new business development in the geographical area.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Actively participate in Safety Initiatives: follows and promote safe behavior and continues improvement
  • Manage both geographical industrial accounts and specific key accounts within TX, LA, and OK
  • Grow sales through professional communication with existing and potential clients, achieving set sales budget
  • Develop new accounts by researching and identifying potential leads, soliciting new business, building connections, providing technical information and advice, preparing quotes, and closing deals
  • Identify and resolve client concerns; recommending a course of action to alleviate these concerns in the future
  • Expand market awareness of products and our industry experience by communicating features and benefits of our products and services effectively
  • Conduct abrasive testing utilizing value added documentation to drive new sales revenue
  • Provide management with reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services
  • Maintain knowledge of competitor products and identify and report intelligence on competitor pricing or marketing strategies
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure customer project requirements are met on time
  • Making technical presentations, webinars, product demonstrations and customer training
  • Maintain awareness of pertinent customer information, future plans, payment performance; communicate any customer information that may affect company decisions to appropriate departments as needed
  • Manages and reports on customer consignment programs
  • Prepare responses to RFQ (request for quote) and RFI (request for information) Attending and participating in trade shows, conferences and other marketing events as required
  • Maintain and execute expense reports



Requirements:

  • Proven analytical, negotiating, problem-solving and organizational skills are necessary
  • Skilled with time and territory management
  • Proven experience with value added selling and cost down activity
  • CRM experience (preferably Microsoft Dynamics)
  • Ability to conduct professional presentations both internally/externally
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Strong communications skills (verbal & written)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Self-starter, self-motivated, & ability to work unsupervised
  • Quality oriented with a sense of urgency to get result within a timely manner
  • Ability to travel (50% - 75%)
  • Valid drivers' license & valid Passport



Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree and/or equivalent experience is required
  • 3 - 5 years' minimum experience in a technical sales position in a manufacturing (preferably in machining/abrasive or related field)

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
  • Prolonged periods of time standing and walking on feet
