We are looking for a hands-on IT Developer with experience in the Power & Gas Commodity markets of North America. You will work on full stack applications to support Front Office Trading across commodities and must be passionate about technology with experience developing enterprise-wide solutions.

You will need to partner with end-users to understand process, requirements and analyze problems to design solutions and ultimately deliver tangible business value & benefit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for development and operations of Front Office applications, data warehouse hosted in Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Deliver technical solutions to evolve our trading platforms and solve business problems. This involves requirements gathering, identifying priorities, planning tasks and on-time delivery of solutions.
  • Work with our internal staff and 3rd party IT consulting teams situated across the geographical locations to ensure solutions meets requirements and delivery projects on time.
  • Lead operational excellence evolution: monitoring, alerting, predictive operations.
  • Interact closely with global development teams on organization technology needs.

Skill and Experience

  • BS or MS in Computer Science or relevant experience.
  • 8-10 years' experience developing enterprise applications.
  • Power & Gas Commodities background is a plus.
  • Strong Python, Dash knowledge and development expertise.
  • Strong UI development.
  • AWS experience - RDS, Lambda, EC2, S3, VPC, SageMaker, ECR, CloudFormation, CloudTrail, CloudWatch, Athena, API Gateway, SQS, SNS.
  • SQL/PLSQL and relational database experience - SQL Server, Snowflake MySQL, PostgresSQL.
  • Building RESTful APIs, JSON.
  • DevOps best practices using tools like GitLab, CI/CD, Docker and Kubernetes.
  • iOS development is a plus.

- Experience in performing, monitoring, and reviewing schedules using P6
- Proficiency with PC operating systems, with proficiency in several basic software applications. Proficiency with multiple discipline specific software applications (Excel, SAP, Primavera and Microsoft Office Applications, PowerBi for example).
- Knowledge in SAP

Qualifications:

In this role, you will report to the Production Superintendent, overseeing day-to-day operations within the Control Room while providing supervision to Control Room Operators. The position encompasses a wide array of responsibilities, requiring adaptability to dynamic operational strategies.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement Standard Operating Guidelines for control room responsibilities.
  • Lead the enhancement of control room processes and reporting mechanisms.
  • Collaborate closely with the Automation department to ensure optimal functionality of end devices and communication networks.
  • Work collaboratively with the SCADA engineer to improve SCADA screens.
  • Collaborate with production operations to optimize wells using SCADA software.
  • Provide essential technical support during field emergency events.
  • Effectively manage schedules for Control Room Operators.
  • Assume Control Room duties as needed.

Education & Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Oil and Gas Control Room Operations.
  • A minimum of 3 years of supervisory and leadership experience in a Control Room setting.
  • High School Diploma.

The position will require work from their Houston Headquarters during early job phases before transitioning to site location, prior to commissioning and startup.

Structure:

  • This position directly manages a Sr. Process Engineer and a Laboratory Supervisor

Experience & Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree or higher in Chemical Engineering

  • Lead the Process Engineering and Laboratory teams in supporting daily plant operations and enhancing plant efficiency to achieve optimal production.
  • Oversee the monitoring of Key Process Indicators (KPIs) for process unit operations, encompassing assessments of fouling, equipment freezing, thermal efficiency, and more.
  • Advocate for and ensure adherence to PHA/HAZOP and Safety Case protocols for recommended process adjustments and operational enhancements.
  • Serve as the Technical Authority (TA) for high-level decisions concerning process engineering and laboratory management.
  • Establish standards, procedures, and instructions for process engineering and laboratory work.
  • Initiate, oversee, and maintain contracts and service agreements for process engineering and laboratory software licensing.
  • Manage the technical proficiencies of core process engineering and laboratory personnel, including identifying and overseeing relevant training and development opportunities.
  • Fulfill obligations related to process and laboratory components of the Operations Management System (OMS) during the FEED and detailed engineering project phases.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Provide technical and engineering leadership on all process safety management elements such as MOC, PSSR, PHA, process design.

Qualifications:

  • Education and Certifications: Minimum Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
  • Experience: A minimum of five to ten (5-10) years of experience working in an engineering capacity in an industrial setting in engineering or operations.
  • Oil and Gas experience is required, with preference in LNG applications, however, petrochemical, NGL, cryogenic natural gas processing, or other hydrocarbon processing experience may be acceptable.
  • Exhibit excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience in key aspects of process engineering from conceptual design, economics, detailed engineering, plant startup, operations, and troubleshooting.
  • Commissioning, start-up, and performance testing at project sites is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of key equipment involved in LNG liquefaction facilities.
