Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Building and maintaining complex Excel models
  • Solve problems though data driven analysis on forward curves and energy commodity prices
  • Identify value proposition and risk
  • Ad-hoc reports
  • Delivering clear presentations on reports and market data



Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance/ Computer science/Mathematics/Engineering
  • Strong experience with financial modeling plus Invest banking a plus!
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience for an Energy Company
  • Strong organizational skills, team-player, detail-oriented
  • Excellent communication skills

Job Title: Accounting Analyst

Overview

We have partnered with an O&G company that is looking for an accounting analyst. This position will include duties such as revenue recognition and analyzing cost incurred/cost budget data.


Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Review contracts for multiple elements of revenue recognition and billing milestones
  • Review new project cost estimates
  • Analyze cost incurred, as reported by intercompany partners, on a monthly basis
  • Analyze product cost and adjust cost budgets on a monthly basis
  • Coordinate with general accounting/accounts payable to ensure proper processing of project related costs
  • Reconcile project costs to budgets and discuss differences with project management on a monthly basis
  • Prepare revenue cut off testing as part of SOX compliance
  • Coordinate with project management to gather required documentation for revenue recognition
  • Prepare standard journal entries associated with the monthly closing of the general ledger
  • Reconcile project related work-in-process monthly and resolve aged and reconciling items
  • Analyze balance sheet position of individual projects
  • Month-end close activities


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • Experience with SAP/ Oracle or equivalent, Alteryx a plus
  • SOX compliance understanding
  • Experience with Revenue Accounting and/or Auditing experience
  • Manufacturing background a plus
