Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the monthly financial closeout process, including
    • Compilation and review of monthly financial activity in departmental variance analysis meeting
    • Compile and book selected monthly accruals
    • Review and confirm various postings and reports prepared by staff members
    • Variance analyses on financial and production data as requested by corporate office and by local management
  • Address and troubleshoot ad hoc issues/requests and changes to the business as they arise. This includes:
    • Accounting impacts from process or system changes, upgrades, and restrictions
    • Reviews and calculations of complex transactions
    • Journal entry corrections and re-class entries as necessary
    • CEMAC Foreign Exchange regulations
    • Research, respond to and resolve historical / legacy accounting issues and questions
  • Overall accounting responsibility for legacy international companies, including but not limited to reviews of: journal entry, wire clearing, Blackline balance sheet account reconciliations, intercompany reviews, and:
    • Historical audit support
    • Company disposition, branch closure support
    • Semi-annual dividend / capital distributions
    • Annual statutory reporting
  • Compile and calculate monthly EG payroll taxes due on expat compensation
  • Administer accounting for leases under the accounting standard ASC 842
  • Reconcile and validate data from SAP to various government reports (Statement of Expenditures (SOE) and Ministry of Mines and Hydrocarbons (MMH) reports)
  • Perform annual true-up and reallocation of mooring costs
  • Local Administer for the balance sheet account reconciliation tool Blackline
  • Responsible for the administration of allocation cycles and annual updates

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree with a major in Accounting required
  • Accounting Certification preferred (CPA) but not required
  • Experience in Accounting, Planning and/or Financial Analysis required
  • Previous experience in an international assignment helpful but not required

Petroplan is currently working with a publicly traded E&P business who are looking to add an additional Production Engineer to their operations team, this person will have responsibility for providing production engineering support while working with the team and independently to develop and provide solutions.

This position will be responsible for the optimizing production in a safe and environmentally sound manner. Working collaboratively to maximize production, looking at every wellbore through thorough review analysis and action, while controlling cost, and minimizing downtime in a safe, clean, and responsible manner. Key challenges within this role will include:

  • Maximize production from every wellbore in the asset with the following artificial lift: ESP, rod lift, gas lift, and plunger
  • Monitor production performance and recommend activities to maintain and increase rates for both conventional and unconventional wells
  • Contribute to the expense and capital project budget preparation, and expense tracking/optimization
  • Schedule, write procedure for, and coordinate day-to-day field activities (remedial well work).

You must have at least 4 years of experience, including recent experience in oil and gas operations working within a production operations field environment.

  • Ensure all subsurface vendors are engaged and providing data and support as outlined in the GOP and Well Plan document
  • Collaborate between NWD and Exploration/RD and GWO to ensure all well objectives are delivered safely and efficiently

Post Well:

Essential experience and job requirements

  • University Degree in Geology or related subject, with 15 years of relevant industry experience, most of which should have been gained in a geological operations environment.
  • Essential industry experience in the areas of well planning and operations geology, well-site geology, petro-physical log interpretation, seismic and well data interpretation, workstation skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work in a collaborative environment within subsurface and drilling.
  • The individual needs to be self-motivated, with a strong ability to integrate across disciplines.
  • Cross discipline experience highly desirable, with strong teaching and coaching skills.

Biostratigrapher (Contract)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating biostratigraphic technical analysis in Gulf of Mexico assets.
  • Preparation of scopes of work and technical specifications.
  • Quality Assurance of contractor led field operations and multidisciplinary biostratigraphic studies.
  • Active participation in the appropriate technical networks and R&D programs.
  • Delivery of safe and efficient development and renewal (exploration) wells, including wellsite services.
  • Provision of support out of normal office hours for critical operational decisions.
  • Collaboration with contractors to deliver high quality biostratigraphic data acquisition and interpretation at wellsite providing support to the New Wells Delivery (NWD) teams (teams supporting well planning and execution).
  • Identification, mitigation, and communication of subsurface risks related to NWD (well planning and execution), as informed by integrated biostratigraphy.
  • Responsibility for maintaining biostratigraphic databases.


Job Qualifications:

  • Minimum requirement of a relevant Master's Level Degree
  • Minimum of 5 years industry experience in biostratigraphy; utilizing nannofossils, foraminifera and/or palynology.
  • Operational experience in New Wells Delivery (well planning and execution) and well-site biostratigraphy.
  • Advanced taxonomic skills from microscope experience in any of the core fossil disciplines (nannofossils, foraminifera, palynology).
  • Industrial biostratigraphic experience in the Gulf of Mexico is highly desirable.
  • International biostratigraphic experience is desirable.
  • Experience of integrating broader geoscientific datasets (e.g., stratigraphic, depositional, petrophysical, geophysical etc.) to produce integrated stratigraphic products.
  • Experience of working with multi-disciplinary subsurface teams.
  • Digital skills in any of the following and/or other relevant areas: Stratabugs, IC, Petrel, Time Scale Creator, Data Science.
