Position: Drilling Engineer

Job type: Contract - 6 month Duration

Location: Houston

Petroplan is currently working with an expansion focused E&P business who are in the process of increasing rig activity. Due to this continued growth, a need has arisen within the business to add a Drilling Engineer to their Eagleford operations division to assist with the ongoing and upcoming unconventional projects.

In this position, they will report directly into the Drilling Manager where they will design, plan and collaborate with field personnel to execute safe, efficient, and cost-effective drilling operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for working closely with a multidisciplinary team of professionals to arrive at the most feasible and cost-effective well designs. Key challenges will include:

• Providing fit for purpose well design (casing, directional, cement, and mud programs) and driving continuous improvement through innovation to deliver results that align with business unit goals
• Conducting operations in accordance with company policy, operating agreements, and all applicable governmental regulations
• Travel to the field is required as and when needed
• Deal with third party vendors with a strong focus on cost and performance

Suitable candidates will have at least 10 years of experience, including 6 years' experience in oil and gas operations working as a Drilling Engineer. Experience working in the Eagleford is preferred but any unconventional play experience is valuable.

Suitable candidates will be a driven, autonomous, self-motivated safety professional who is passionate and hungry to succeed.
