Process Engineer (Terephthalic Acid)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Drive the modification process
  • Develop heat and material balances
  • Participate in the implementation of modifications, including commissioning, training, and SOP writing
  • Create PFDs and P&IDs
  • Facilitate design through the HAZOP process
  • Serve as PTA SME for PTA and provide mentoring to process engineers
  • Provide PTA knowledge and track reasons for downtime to enable plant to maximize uptime
  • Lead planning, cost development, and scheduling for process plant shutdowns, startups, and normal operation
  • Communicate with vendors of equipment for technical issues and improvements
  • Lead process improvements from conception, through design to implementation, training and documentation updates

Job Qualifications:

  • M.S. in Chemical Engineering
  • Intermediate to advance excel skills
  • Previous experience with Aspen one/HYSYS preferred
  • 10 years prior experience as a process engineer in related industry
  • Knowledge and experience with ISO 9001
