Electrical Engineer - EPC

Key Responsibilities

  • Proficiency in low and medium voltage power distribution design.
  • Successful candidate will also be skilled in protective relaying, motor control systems, area classification specifications, electrical equipment sizing and PLCs.
  • Familiarity with electrical safety and code compliance requirements.


Technical Responsibilities

  • Responsibilities encompass the preparation of important electrical documentation, including area classifications, single line diagrams, fugitive emissions studies, and load lists.
  • Contribute electrical expertise to detailed project documents such as the scope of work, design basis document, and project execution plan.
  • Develop electrical designs for projects or proposals.
  • Establish detailed engineering design criteria.
  • Evaluate designs from equipment vendors or subcontractors.
  • Oversee the work of team members to maintain design consistency and integrity.
  • Ensure the accuracy and verification of discipline-specific deliverables.
  • Lead the development of electrical material take-offs (MTOs) and labor estimates.
  • Collaborate on electrical aspects within the project, coordinating with other relevant disciplines.
  • Provide input for project schedules and estimates of engineering man-hours.
  • Create or assess electrical single line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
  • Develop and assess specifications for electrical equipment and construction.

Education and Qualifications

  • 4 years of electrical oil and gas experience. Must have EPCM background.
  • Experience in Oil & Gas facility projects including some of the following areas: heavy oil facilities, well tie-ins, pipelines, compressor stations, and field gas processing facilities.
  • Experience with various electrical codes and standards (CSA, IEEE, API)

Project Cost Analyst - Scheduler
The individual in this position, as a member of the Project Controls team, plays a crucial role in the successful delivery of Hydrogen Liquefaction Plants through scheduling, actionable reporting, and schedule management. Their responsibilities include the creation, upkeep, and dissemination of project schedules for Hydrogen Liquefaction facilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Possesses the capability to create precise Project Schedules utilizing Primavera P6 software (and MS Project as necessary).
  • Adept at crafting schedules for various Energy sectors (including Renewables, Oil and Gas), as well as other industrial and manufacturing processes and systems.
  • Proficient in the development of schedules that outline relationships, logic, milestones, constraints, and resource allocation for cost and time, alongside the routine maintenance and periodic updates of these schedules.
  • Engages in effective communication and coordination with various project stakeholders and departments, taking a proactive approach in schedule management, progress updates, and anticipation of potential delays.
  • Responsible for reviewing third party submitted schedules to ensure compliance with specifications, staging, and logic.
  • Takes ownership of validating scheduled activities.
  • Creates milestone schedules for the timely delivery of engineering deliverables, equipment, raw materials, subcontracted work, and labor.
  • Functions as a valuable team member in the scheduling and development of engineering projects from inception to completion.
  • Conducts comprehensive reviews and analysis of Notices of Change and Requests for Change to assess their impact on the schedule.
  • Contributes to the preparation of Schedule Analysis reports, including explanations of schedule variances.
  • Demonstrates the willingness and ability to undertake additional project controls activities, such as monitoring costs and budgets, managing issues, facilitating meetings, overseeing document control, and providing monthly status reports to the Owner.
  • Collaborates effectively as part of a team to meet project execution and schedule objectives.
  • Provides support in the development of project plans and production schedules.
  • Assists in business development efforts by creating foundational schedules and timelines for potential projects.



Education and Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience as a project scheduler in the industrial engineering and/or construction industry
  • Experience in developing project schedules utilizing Primavera P6, MS Project or other scheduling tools
  • Exemplary communication skills, written, analytical, negotiating, and interpersonal are essential
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills for cost reporting
  • Must be capable of independent work in fast paced, schedule driven environments
  • Knowledge of engineering, supply chain, and construction processes
  • Ability to work on multiple complex project efforts at a time
  • Sound business sense with the flexibility to modify processes or procedures to achieve goals as information changes and project events unfold
  • Skilled at building relationships and influencing team members at all levels of the organization, including at the senior levels
  • Ability to effectively accomplish goals working with field-based and remote team members
  • Work experience in Hydrogen and/or fuel cells, renewable energy, cryogenic industry, High Pressure Systems, gas processing and/or dispensing equipment, oil and gas, CNG, LNG, etc., or pharmaceuticals strongly preferred
  • Attending/conducting client or sub-contractor schedule reviews, and other vendor interfacing
  • Cost/Earned Value experience is a plus

  • Experience in power design studies - interconnects, system balancing, harmonics, arc flash.
  • Experience in an Owner's organization dealing with engineering design contractors and utilities.
  • Proficient in the use of electrical engineering software and tools, field installation and checkout of equipment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • P.E. license is a plus but not required.
  • Travel may be required.

Position Summary
The Senior Project / Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the specification, analysis, testing and integration of mechanical and electromechanical components used in liquefier systems. These components include pumps, blowers, fans, compressors, heat exchangers, sensors, switches, solenoids, motors, and motor controllers. This role requires close interaction with the systems, electrical, controls and packaging teams to ensure efforts are coordinated. The role requires close interaction with the supply chain, quality, manufacturing, and service teams to ensure designs meet cross functional requirements. The candidate must be self-motivated, able to handle multiple assignments and willing to learn and adapt in a fast-paced product engineering organization.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

  • Mechanical equipment design & engineering for various equipment including;
    * Pressure vessels
    * Heat exchangers
    * Rotating machinery (compressors, turboexpanders, pumps, etc.)
  • FEED and detailed engineering stages, prepared specifications, datasheets and RFQ for mechanical equipment (skid packages) including pumps, compressors, cold boxes, vessels, tanks, etc.
  • Create accurate, complete, and concise engineering documentation to define critical component specifications and requirements.
  • Perform pipe stress analysis (static/dynamic).
  • Prepared technical bid tabulations and performed technical bid evaluation, reviewed supplier quotations, and made recommendations for supplier awards for mechanical equipment.
  • Write clear test results that can be used to verify engineering analysis and drive fact-based decisions.
  • Coordinate design changes with the systems, electrical, controls and packaging teams.
  • Lead design changes through the enterprise change process.
  • Work closely with cross-functional colleagues related to project assignments in a collaborative and communicative fashion to deliver high caliber results.
  • Participate as needed with project teams; support project teams as needed with all relevant initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering plus six (6) or more years of relevant work history.
  • Manufacturing industry experience highly preferred
  • Experience with Petrochemical, Gas Processing or Cryogenic projects
  • Experience with centrifugal and reciprocating compressors highly desirable
  • Must be able to clearly communicate ideas and issues in both written and verbal form.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to identify and correct problem root cause.

Senior Instrumentation and Controls Engineer

Position Summary


The Instrument and Control Engineer is a critical member of the Engineering Team based in Houston, Texas. This position is responsible for design of instrument and control systems solutions for the Hydrogen Liquefaction plants at all client locations. The Instrument and Control Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful transition from the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) phase to the operations phase of liquefactions plants throughout North America, Europe, and Asia. By partnering with the engineering, production, project management and field service teams, the Instrument and Control Engineer will develop thorough understanding of the performance requirements of the H2 Liquefaction Plant design and continually refine instrumentation and controls to enhance the reliability of the plants. This role is vital to support company's systems in the field while also furthering the company's reputation as the industry leader in Hydrogen Liquefaction and Hydrogen fuel cell applications. Experience in Oil and Gas, Hydrogen, LNG or related Hydrocarbon processes is required.


Core Duties and Responsibilities

  • Act as a technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Instrument & Controls system engineering, providing guidance and advice on related issues.
  • Participate in Control System Design reviews.
  • Develop and approve specifications of process control equipment including valves, relief valves, process instrumentation, analytical systems, and DCS & PLC.
  • Perform system tests to ensure that software and automation solutions are effective and reliable both pre and post deployment.
  • Support the Maintenance & Operations teams with Instrument & Controls systems assistance to maintain the operability of liquefaction Units.
  • Refine system automation and software solutions based upon field data and stakeholder input.
  • Develop design documentation (installation details, instrument index, databases, I/O lists, panel drawings, wiring and loop diagrams, control narratives, cause & effect diagrams, junction boxes drawings and cable tray layouts, etc.).
  • Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing of Process Automation equipment (DCS, Analyzers, plant equipment control systems)
  • Develop, read, and interpret Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and Electrical Schematics as needed.
  • Relevant practical site commissioning experience, while not essential, would be of benefit.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the Automation Engineering Manager.



Education and Experience

  • BS degree in Electrical, Instrumentation and/or Chemical Engineering, or other relevant field of study
  • Ten (10) or more years of relevant work history; experience developing automation solutions for field applications preferred. Candidates with strong equipment manufacturing experience utilizing PLC applications will be given due consideration.
  • Experience in managing third party contractors.
  • Working knowledge of Engineering Standards for Instrumentation; API, ISA, PIP & NEC.
  • Prior Instrumentation and Control experience; BPCS, SIS with Oil & Gas, Chemical manufacturing systems.
  • Experience with:
    • PLC Programming - Ladder Logic, Functional Block Diagram, Sequential Flow Charts
    • Rockwell Automation Products; Factory talk, RS Linx, PLCs, Plant PAx
    • Cyber Security and Industrial Networking
    • Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to travel as needed to carry out duties of the position - up to 30%
  • Demonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detail.
  • Superior communication skills and ability to manage complex projects and multi-task effectively.
